Kudos to Jonathan, my question is why does it take a new convert to point out the basic principles that every Christian should know. Maybe it's because the elders we appoint are not qualified for the positions that they hold. Just because you have a business or computer degree doesn't mean you have biblical knowledge too. Most don't. They wouldn't recognize a false teacher or unscriptual practice if it appeared before their very eyes. So sad. They will stand before God at the judgment and answer for this failure. James 3:1
@LesterHall-kx2yt - If one is baptized according to scripture (a repentant believer who is immersed for the forgiveness of sins, having confessed Christ is Lord), and they then fall away, they would not need to be baptized a second time to be forgiven, but would instead need only to repent and ask forgiveness. See the example of Simon the sorcerer in Acts 8 - particularly in verses 18-24. Also, read 1 John 1: 6-9 to see how God deals with sin when we are trying our best and have not fallen away, but still stumble sometimes. I hope that answers your question.
Good question. Computers are like songbooks or bibles. They don't conflict with the commands "preach the word" or "sing." However, making a melody with a piano (instrument) in worship conflicts with the command of "making melody in your heart to the Lord." Eph 5:19

They are not there to suggest that you should “play” the song on an instrument, even though some do anyway. But that’s beside the point. Even if a song book said “to be sung with piano accompaniment,” it still wouldn’t be authorized because the Bible, not the song book, is the authoritative word of God. As the name of this show indicates, we should only concerned here with what the Bible says.
@@brettcarter6189 and, brother, from the beginning of the Church until the 7th century, acapella (means "of the chapel) was the only music in the churches, even though there have been musical instruments all throughout human history. Even the "protestant churches" resisted the introduction of musical instruments in the 1800s. There are many quotes from both the early church "fathers" and the reformers preaching against their usage. The churches of God can assemble anywhere and at any time without worrying about having to lug pianos or drumkits!
Very disappointing. It's church of christ policy to not take comments or objections . My father and brother are preacher's and my brother told me he's right about everything. This statement is exhibited here and with all churches
I grew up in a coC like this. You could not question the Man of God, as he was God's chosen vessel because he went to FHU, the bastion of church of Christ scholarship. Once I started reading the Bible without the lens of CENI (and read more than Paul's epistles, since we are those-heavy in the church of Christ), I have found a much richer and deeper understanding of context and who God and Jesus are and what they want out of me.

My excuse for church of christ preacher's is their not aware they proof text what they believe is right and with error in other religions to discredit them by unaware they are virtue signaling practicing witchcraft by making no allowance for restitution.

If you lose your salvation can you repent and do you have to be baptized again?
