    are these procedures for mechanically ventilated or spontaneous breath patient?

      Artery dont vary with ventilation. It changes only with pulse if at all.

      @@emergencymedicine7944 respiratory variation of peak systolic velocity changes from spontaneous vent to MV, so yes, this one will only help to predict fluid responsiveness on MV.

    The sample volume must include the whole internal diameter of the vessel.
