Some economists have projected that both the U.S. and parts of Europe could slip into a recession for a portion of 2023. A global recession, defined as a contraction in annual global per capita income, is more rare because China and emerging markets often grow faster than more developed economies. Essentially the world economy is considered to be in recession if economic growth falls behind population growth.

Years ago I was shocked that the Chinese people wanted landscape like the West, with the skyline faced with skyscrapers and cement and ugly. I was in Hong Kong and China mainland during the early 60's, before tall buildings. Besides the poverty, it was mysterious and different than what I was use to. The smell of spices wafed through the air in Hong Kong near The Tiger Balm Gardens and the ma and pa tea shops sold hundreds of types of tea. There were master craftsman selling their products, like the suit makers. Remnants abound from the past, silk and ceramics for sale that I have today.. I feel that the culture has changed probably because I am old and just reminising the past through some filter. This post is just a glimpse from someones memories .

In fact, Mao did not try to limit the population of China. On the contrary, he said that Chinese families should grow without limit because the world could support up to 50 billion people. It was only after Mao died that the government threw this policy into reverse in an attempt to avoid overpopulation. China has spent massive amounts of money on bureaucrat model projects, almost all of which are colossal failures. A proper form of government funding such as property taxes doesn’t exist in China. Instead growth with stimulated by levying taxes on new construction. To keep local governments running they had to stimulate super growth in construction. Now construction has collapsed and local governments are bankrupt. This does not bode well for the future, by any means.

There is a long line of shoppers at a tall glass Apple store. Teslas, Buicks, Mercedes, and BMWs are abundant on the highways, which you would think otherwise. Where do the homeless go in China? One little upsurge in population and those would be taken up. But here in 2024, it currently looks like these cities are starting to fall apart already, and won't make it to the next population uptick. Sooo there's that.

Instead of greedily pushing the price to the lowest and then blaming China for poor quality.
For Chinese manufacturers, it is easy to make the quality of products good, but it is difficult to make the worst. Because the worst quality products are often purchased by greedy people who want good quality and low price.
Now is the third decade of the 21st century. If you are still repeating boring words like "Chinese quality is poor", I think you should work hard to increase your income so that you have more choices.

An ordinary Tuesday night in some places in China looks like a major national holiday PLUS the State Fair, maybe going on for miles.... Life is longer, retirement age is earlier, and you can go out on the street and get a home cooked meal AND some strong drink for a dollar or two WHEN you retire! When I was a kid, it looked like everyone in Murica was better off than anyone in China, this is no longer true YOU CAN PLAINLY SEE! you haven‘t been to china.you‘re talking nonsense. A good blogger should be objective and impartial ,rather than making a program just by finding some material

Yet how many Chinese offer their opinions on the West, particularly the United States, without having been there either. You can read all about it in this video's comment section alone. "A good blogger should be objective." A blogger isn't a journalist; there is no standard for reporting; he's a "RUclipsr." What'd you expect? This platform is predicated on sensationalist content. Besides, if he is able to garner an audience and make money via ad revenue, then he's better than the Han that lives in China or the Han that HAS to leave for the West just to have a life where one isn't religated to abject authoritarianism.

I think is important remember about Japan economic decline: It's was made by United States, when US forced Japan to increase de Iene value. It destroyed the Japanese exporting and stopped it's growth. But It's impossible to do the same to China, because instead Japan, China is not under military control of USA.

...Unfortunately, economics cant ever be simply explained in such a simple and binary fashion. And besides, an export economy kinda needs nations to buy what they export.😅

@@erikgarrow6781 Sorry but I disagree. Increasing the currency value of an export nation is a fatal shot. It's basic and fundamental economic notion, and the USA did it against Japan. It was called "The Plaza Accord", but the USA can't repeat it against China this time. Do to that, so many sanctions against the Chinese industry. It's a desperate reaction. Let's see if it will work. I think it doesn't.

Not all CHINESE PRODUCTS ARE LOW QUALITY, THEY ARE ALL GRADED ACCORDING to the CUSTOMERS PREFERRENCE. QUALITY IS ALWAYS WELL ADJUSTED and MAINTAINED, since it is the SPECIFICATIONS of the PRODUCTS, TESTS as well as WARRANTIES that are TRIED and TESTED RELIABLE. ************IMPORTANT*******************

Any person leaving China to emigrate to another country only does so on the order of the PRC. Any Chinese getting into bankruptcy problems or insolvency seem to disappear back to mainland China

Its surreal to believe that they will just watch and see what happens, all those projections are based on that stupidest assumption. New policies will replace old ones, its not like they are doomed and they cant do anything about it. If they were smart enough to get where they are now, they will be smart enough to avoid any projected crisis.
