- As political parties continue to race against time to meet the coalition talks deadline, there are concerns over the impact of ideological differences on a proposed Government of National Unity. The Economic Freedom Fighters have rejected the ANC's proposal, refusing to work with the DA and FF Plus, describing them as counter-revolutionary.
Political analyst Sanusha Naidu weighs in.

Some people just have one word in their little brains APARTHEID 😢😢😢😢
The EFF and the MK have been offered the option of joining taking South Africa forward as per the voting South Africans. If they chose not to listen to the South African public, so be it. In stead of black-mailing or trying to force themselves onto the GNU.
The public wants the Land what are you talking about? is the ANC that is not listening to the mases GNU won't deliver that which is useless and is there to protect our oppressors
It's actuality very simple. The 400 MPs (or 350 if MK don't submit their members list) can among themselves choose the President and Speakers now, without hesitation this week. That will determine who the President will be, and the cabinet he chooses.
Why did we have different political parties if we think this guys can just simply govern together 🤷🏾♂️
Coalitions worldwide are struck between parties that have common ground. Not communists and capitalists in a coalition??? That is making a mockery of ideologies. 1994 the Interim Constitition demanded a GNU remember the ANC had a 50%+ victory.
WE THE PEOPLE HAVE CHOSEN...NO PARTY THAT WANTS TO CHANGE CONSTITUITION.
This whole interview has not at any stage mention what the South African votes have voted for????????
Democracy has not ďeveloped yet,no real racial harmony.GNUa good initial step ,will develop.Leave out those who disagree. They will get tired of Not playing a part.
Let the GNU address asymmetrical land ownership arrangement of SA. If not, then those who want to maintain apartheid landownership patterns can consolidate their power.
Rest assured it will age well; people are not stupid.
Just get on with the job and serve the people....nitty gritty sort out in parliament...
Now look at the moonshot boys, 😅 buns of Backstabbers
We're not in coalitions or GNU yet. The MK still needs the vote rigging issues resolved - how is it possible that the votes recording glitches and IT blackouts an be allowed to go unchallenged. Who it the IEC covering for?
Apparently IEC should not be challenged, its shocking what we are all subjected to these days.
The arrogance of IEC and ANC to think they can just dismiss such disturbing allegations and move on. Well done MK for not letting this go
@@biko8229And the audacity to insist that the results are legitimate when there's so much irregularities and over 20 parties contesting the results. IEC is too arrogant and definately not promoting democracy.
@@siszama2294 MK have taken IEC to court, I suspect IEC is going to be exposed in front of the whole world during those court proceedings.
What is she saying?😂
It will never work ANC policies and EFF policies with MK are to backwards development willingness to progress NEVER happen DA with like minded parties should go it alone 😊😊
GNU with DA and VF+ equals Apartheid 2.0
We will remember this arrangement in 18 months' time when 2026 comes along😎
That is an unlikely arrangement...
@@janineroux2398 Is that not what the so-called "markets" want?
Some of us are hoping the ANC of RamaSofa follow through so that we see the funeral of the ANC in 2026.
@@biko8229 Keeping a government that pursues constitutional democracy, is what will keep the country stable financially, and otherwise... And Cyril understands this, whatever his faults have been... Unfortunately many others do not understand this, and I am not mentioning names or parties
@@janineroux2398 Cyril has been the worst ANC president we've. If he does not realise how much people don't like his governance by looking at the millions of people who rejected the ANC in these elections.
Then they are living under a rock. If he continues as president they must remember ANC no longer have a majority to defend him from phala phala and no confidence votes.
@@janineroux2398 If he continues as president they must remember ANC no longer have a majority to defend him from phala phala and no confidence votes.
In 2019 ANC had more than 10 million votes, this year its just over 6 million, I don't think we've seen the ANC rejected like this before by the people of SA. The GNU coalition of "markets" looks like it will be the best gift for MK and EFF.
