    Room/place I struggle with is a multi purpose space... Since we are expecting another baby, there are 2 spaces in transition (started with 3 actually!). The nursery is almost done. But then our attic. It's our office space (and my creative space for diys), laundry space and our storage space (we don't have a garage and the shed is too humid for most things). The slanted roofs/ceilings makes it so hard to come up with functional and yet stylish solutions (since I want it to look pretty and calming as it is also our office like I said...). Slowly getting there but it is really driving me nuts 😅

Thinking I will sacrifice one of the top drawers and use that space for external drive storage and popup plugs. Might be able to fit a hidden hub in there too. 🧛‍♂️

    Mine are a short haired breed from Spain and we are up in mid Sweden so they kinda need their own closet for dog clothes to top it off 😅 Whilst living in a tiny house. Chew on that one for a while! 🤣 So, if you can come up with a great diy compact living solution for all dog related stuff I would be super happy. A t m: Smelly wet dog clothes hanging to dry on my laundry rack 🙊🙈

    Love this diy for a lot of reasons. The before and after show what a difference the effort makes. Love the custom tray. Some manufacturer will be copying your design before long. Love the Ikea dividers and baskets and the fact that you can fit books between them. The stuff loose on the shelf really didn't look professional or neat. Love the dividers you made. Love the cords corralled and hidden in the book shelves. Also love that this video shows that there is no such thing as a five minute job. For all those people who say, "You should just fix that." Hope they now realize, "fixing that" almost always entails shopping, planning, organizing, building, cleaning etc. before they speak up the next time! An area that I would love to see you organize is lower kitchen cabinets where all the pots, pans, baking stuff, maybe blenders etc. go. Seems things are so big or round or tall or far in the back with lids that come in all shapes and sizes, and nothing looks particularly attractive, it's just in there and getting things out is never a pleasant experience, especially with deep cabinets.

    Honestly, having the cabinet gone makes the office look so much bigger! I totally forgot you even had that beautiful wallpaper up! I would love to see you maybe go through some stuff to get rid off and then organize. I struggle with getting rid of things and would appreciate the moral support. It's challenging to let go of things when you can't figure out the difference between "joy" and "happy". (when talking about the MK method)

  • @lwilso9152
    @lwilso9152 2 года назад

    The pop-up plug port is genius!! If you’re having trouble focusing, you’re gonna have trouble focusing whether the office is organized or not. (my ADHD butt would procrastinate by organizing all the time) Best way to refill your focus bar is to do some physical activity, like yoga, jumping jacks, whatever for 10 - 20 minutes. And you shouldn’t feel bad about whatever organization systems you put into place eventually falling into disarray. It just means the system doesn’t match the way you use the space, and it can keep evolving as you learn new things about yourself. (I do the hair tie thing too, I bought a small wooden dish from goodwill to hold them, and it feels much better, even though they are still in plain sight.)

  • @waterbitten
    @waterbitten 2 года назад

    I love the mesh cubbies in the wall shelves so much I think they might be better for your electronics than the under table wood shelf, only because they would allow for air circulation, the electronics pack together like that will get hot. Just a thought.

    I loooove this. DIY organization and hacks is probably my favourite thing. :) I definitely need it this year especially. 100% would love more of this type of content. :) I'm glad you got an extra shelf too 'cause I feel like there can be lots of wasted space in bookshelves when the shelves are just a little too widely spaced out.
    One thing I tried to diy fix yesterday was putting a little magnet on one of our kitchen cabinet doors that didn't fully close and slightly realigning the screws in the hinge. I did it while procrastinating other de-cluttering I was mid-doing. Unfortunately, the next day my partner pointed out that the cabinet now made an annoying squeaky sound, so I tried to realign it somehow today but couldn't put it back how it was and somehow made it totally worse. Sigh!! So much for trying to do a simple little fix.

Now with all the organization of the desk, removing from sight all the cords made an amazing difference, even down to drilling the holes in the bookcase to hide the cord.( I think I will use this idea for behind my tv, because it is a jungle back there.) Crazy how good organization can make you feel and you did make it look professional. I would love just to sit in that chair with a cup of coffee and survey everything in the room. I have a very small pantry in my very small house I think I have maxed out ideas to add extra storage space, oh yeah, it is also my laundry room maybe that is a space you could help with.
