Please carry on. You are absolutely super class. Thank you and God bless you Petersens. Let us pray for our countries. Greetings from Bremen / Germany
Musical growth can often come from taking a kernel and expanding upon it. I often tell young singers to listen for that one line, or even one word, that resonates into their soul when they sing it. A good example is the line "I'd buy your love" in If I Had a Million Dollars by the Barenaked Ladies. I recall singing it once at karaoke when that line started with 2 of us, and then grew to 3, and then to 4 by the end of the song. We were no longer singing to entertain anyone other than ourselves with the pure joy of hearing how we blended. A lot of people see If I Had a Million Dollars as a "gimmick" song, and it is. Except for that line. I was an American Idol watcher when Simon predicted that Carrie Underwood would be the greatest, and he was most certainly right, just as he was right about others who have had stellar careers. One thing that I picked up from Simon is to finish strong. The classic Western Swing finish of Its Over, while made to seem simple here, is likely the end result of a lot of hard work. And it leaves me wanting the next one. Please keep writin em and layin em down.
That song is just a great tribute to the old Western Swing bands. At age 70 it is my motivation to lose enough weight to get back to dancing to that pace of music. There is absolutely no way to feel anything but positive about life while dancing that fast with a partner who gets it. The thing I love most about dancing that way is that any Western Dance is designed to show off the skill of the woman partner, meaning all I need to do is hang on and enjoy. And it brings back memories of all the beautiful ladies I have shared a dance floor with in the last 45+ years. Thank you to the Petersons. Keep on keeping on.
