    Cute! Keep 'em coming! This same pattern easily translates to poinsettia. Many of us soap makers use piping techniques, as well as Wilton's Silicone Molds. One great example of this would be the video made by Royalty Soaps, called Pumpkin Patch Soap. She's the "queen" of piping techniques in our community, but the 'dutchess' at home...hahaha. (Her dad is king & mom is queen in their household, and she's just crazy funny to watch.)
    Thanks!

    • @wilton
      @wilton  8 месяцев назад

      We're so glad you're exploring baking and decorating! You can use a store-bought buttercream or make your own, for piping flowers, if you make your own buttercream you can add additional confectioners' sugar to create a stiffer frosting if needed. You can find our Homemade Buttercream recipe on our blog: bit.ly/ButtercreamRecipe
      Buttercream icing
      1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
      ½ cup butter
      1 teaspoon Wilton Clear Vanilla Extract
      4 cups sifted confectioners’ sugar (approx. 1 lb.)
      2 tablespoons milk
      Cream shortening and butter with electric mixer. Add vanilla. Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. When all sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry. Add milk and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy. Keep icing covered with a damp cloth until ready to use. For best results, keep icing bowl in refrigerator when not in use. Refrigerated in an airtight container, this icing can be stored 2 weeks. Re-whip before using.
      Yield: 3 cups

    I have a question once we make the butter cream sunflowers and we freeze them If we put them on a cake on the sides of a cake when the cake comes to room temperature will they just fall or melt?

    • @wilton
      @wilton  Год назад

      Hi! Your flowers should not fall off once created and removed from the freezer. But depending on your location, room temperature could be too hot for the buttercream, then we would suggest keeping it chilled until serving.

      I made these yesterday. With Wilton icing, just as in the video. It seemed that the icing was too warm and the petals hardly held a shape. I made do, and popped them in the freezer overnight for when I needed them. They were still very pliable and hard to remove from the parchment. :( What went wrong?

      If you freeze them, you can simply peel the flower off of the parchment paper and place it on top of the cake or cupcake. If you want to place it on the side of your cake you can use a little bit of buttercream to adhere :-) Thanks for watching!
