BoboTheEpic I apologize. I could have phrased that much better. It is very useful, I would suggest hooking it up to an android phone and using a spectrum analyzer app.
That's suspicious... Personally, I didn't think it was practical until I saw a use for it (at the end of the video with the guitar). A lot of these things may be fun because they occupy you.. ultimately though, what's important is how useful the things are. Unfortunately not many things on this channel are useful, merely fun. If you see this comment, please consider carefully planning and releasing videos that are practical for people; Devices which produce a speaker effect or w/e that effect was with the electric guitar would be great; Especially if it were cost effective over buying one. Stuff like that would seriously make this channel take off.
I was doing some research on EMP’s trying to figure out if I could make one to either play a prank on a large group of people at once or come up with a magic trick that lots of people could participate in. Anyway I ran. Across this channel and it is awesome!!!!! Please keep it up
You ever mess with the tempest software and a sdr dongle it can pick up the same electromagnetic sounds except the software can interpret the sound and decode a computer monitor so if you had sensitive enough equipment and someones pc wasn't in a Faraday cage you can see everything they do on screen. Even without the software there is a way to do this just in sdr sharp to decode some sounds displayed as images on the monitor.
I love the idea of this, as well as all the other things on your channel, but I have NO IDEA what any of this electrical terminology means. Any tips, ideas, or places on where I should start learning this?
Probably not because the audio is encoded/compressed for better bandwidth so you won't be able to hear the raw audio like you would with a radio or whatever.
3:48 *listening peacefully to this video in background/on separate monitor........ "gonna move this pin over here and".... RAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE holy shit dude you scared me so bad
Oh, love your channel, I am a subscriber. Am learning a lot from your channel because I don't think you talk fast but make things look simple to make. Can you recommend a store for buying electronics like the bread board now that I was going to use Radio Shack, they closed!
Question associated to your project and only because one I'm not electronics savy and two I don't know what to call it but could you explain to me what causes that magnetic interference when you brought the solenoid and speaker too close to each other. I know the same thing happens when you bring two microphones close to each other. I know It has to do with magnetic waves but why are these waves making a noise? Next, why choose a solenoid from a washing machine?
very simple, yet very cool. I am interested in devices such as this, that is, those that allow humans to perceive the rest of the universe that lays hidden beyond our currently evolved senses. Additionally to hearing EMF's, I am very interested in SEEING them. Do you think you could tackle this human enhancement?
I read an article some time ago on Wired Science magazine where a guy had actually done this. He also wanted to see all the electronic transmissions in the air. So he developed a 2 D viewable image showing the different electronic waves in the air around him. I thought he did it in 3D and why I was interested in it so I didn't care to follow up on it. His PC screen just showed red lines, blue lines, color coded lines going across the screen. The thing I questioned was how he captured them to show them as lines all at once. Then I found out, he mapped them so they weren't a real time display.
gee man, i appreciate you reading my comment and sharing with me your pertinent thoughts. that is exciting that it has been done before with room for improvement.
You young guy are great!!! And brilliant also a bit corny especially at the end.....LOL Corny is an old term to say goofy funny which to me is wonderful so it's a compliment. Keep up the great videos!!!
Can you teach me how to dig up copper, make it into a wire, coat it with enamel, build steel laminations from rock, grow transistors, put it all together, make a camera, develop the internet and a RUclips channel, and then sell it all for 50 cent?
I like your videos but you remind me of the 90s advert "micro machines come in collections of five", "micro machines come in collections of five", "micro machines come in collections of five"
I’m a collage student studying electrical and electronic engineering. Ill admit I’m not as knowledgeable or versed as you but maybe try either speaking more slowly or taking more time to explain things. I do love these videos by the way
Warning, an LM386 chip was harmed during the making of this video.
Tanner Tech hey man!
How are those beads?
Tanner Tech Great job tanner!
koo kool
Thanks for the warning. Subbed btw ;)
Note: instead of a solenoid you could use the tape read head from a cassette player. Then it would be more sensitive.
I had the same idea and thryed it. but it didn't work.
I think my tape read head is broken.
I absolutely don’t mean this in a negative way, but this channel has a 90’s DIY TV-show feel to it, honestly I kind of like it.
0:45 that penmanship.👍
So basically a wide band bug detector, cool
So wait, if you had this in a room where a bug was you'd be able to find it?
+Gage The Navigator "bug"
lol. A bug detector is useless in the modern day. Why hide a bug when you can download a program?
BoboTheEpic I apologize. I could have phrased that much better. It is very useful, I would suggest hooking it up to an android phone and using a spectrum analyzer app.
Yeah.
You should build a long range mic. Something that you could hear someone from a couple hundred feet away

@@lususnaturae2470 That sounds boring
@@lususnaturae2470 you do not understand the point of this channel
Hope you enjoyed your holidays Keystone! Glad to see another upload.
Haha yeah, finals are over with now :D
So glad to see another video!!!!
That is an amazing device, can already see the use of it. great job guys !
I did the same thing once but with no op amp i connected the coil to my headphones and it's not as loud but works surprisingly good.
Made it. Really cool circuit. Gonna go on an electromagnetic scavenger hunt tomorrow! :D
We used to put a Mimi FM radio next to Tandy Trs80 computer. You could hear a difference on which subroutine in a program running.
Can I use it to detect ghosts assuming ghosts emit emf
Now, how about adding an oscillator, a mixer, and converting ultrasonic sounds down to where we can hear them?
I was WAITING for you two to collaborate!
Finally another Keystone science video!!! I've been waiting for a new video since you started college!!!
This will allow you to hear different emf waves around you. Might be a great way to document v2k.
Omg. You and TannerTech in one Video? Like a dream
Keystone and I*
Sorry, the video was great and interesting. Might actually make my own version.
I was doing some research on EMP’s trying to figure out if I could make one to either play a prank on a large group of people at once or come up with a magic trick that lots of people could participate in. Anyway I ran. Across this channel and it is awesome!!!!! Please keep it up
an EMP for a "prank"? thats juat gonna fry everyone's devices, that is not a prank
@@ProtoHadrondon’t modern devices have protection against emp

I've learned so much from both your channels. Awesome job.
Sounds cool! Good video!
Can you use different amplifier chip like basic amplifier chip? And another question can the lm386 can be found in electronics like TVs and radios.
Hi!
Great video!
Where can I add a potentiometer to control the volume of the speaker? It's pretty loud...
Could you give me a detailed step by step on how to make this? I bought the supplies listed under the video. Thanks
I tried your link to "Tanner Tech" and it says no content on that channel!!
Brilliant. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Both of you are awesome
Frickin' cool.
I love the idea of this, as well as all the other things on your channel, but I have NO IDEA what any of this electrical terminology means. Any tips, ideas, or places on where I should start learning this?
Same
Does this work eavesdropping on a phone line and you can hear whats going through it?
Matt Merrill I'll try that and tell you if I get anything if no one else does it first
Commenting because I'm curious
I wanna know too O_O
Probably not because the audio is encoded/compressed for better bandwidth so you won't be able to hear the raw audio like you would with a radio or whatever.
I detected a like on this video and had to do the same for Tanner's channel. Great collaboration!
You sound like a genius....nice video
Good work boys
Would any sort of coil with a high number of turns work?
3:48 *listening peacefully to this video in background/on separate monitor........ "gonna move this pin over here and".... RAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE holy shit dude you scared me so bad
The guitar bit was really awesome
thanks definitely going to make this one.
A fox/hound cable tracer kit will give you similar capability if you don't want to/can't build anything.
Can you review the super mini bluetooth dongle v2.0 to make it music bluetooth reciever??? Can you do that???
Oh, love your channel, I am a subscriber. Am learning a lot from your channel because I don't think you talk fast but make things look simple to make. Can you recommend a store for buying electronics like the bread board now that I was going to use Radio Shack, they closed!
Can I make my own solenoid? With just copper wire, how many turns would it need?
athngeo
Yes you can. Experiment to find the best number of turns - but it will be a large number!
Could you use a different antenna and make a receiver for specific radio waves?
Yeah, you could likely couple it with a capacitor to get to only resonate with certain frequencies
Keystone Science pretty much makeing a receiver. Thanks
Great and informative video
Can't you use an AM radio for the same things?
i think i might try having a vu metre to for visuals .
Kinda makes me think of a weird or special kind of theremin...
Can the circuit be modified to hear electromagnetic transients or noise in the atmosphere?
Hey Keystone Science!
Can i build the coil by myself? I'm a professional electronics-noob.. 😅
Greetings from Germany!
Riccardo Buchin i was about to ask the same
Greetings back from Germany xD
I just threw one of these coils away!😢
Yes you can wind the coil yourself.
Just put a few hundred windings of thin copper wire on a thick screw. It should work.
Can I use one of those prebuild audio amplifiers that use the lm386? Is it as simply as plugging up cables to it then?
Tanner must have 180 degree field of vision... cool
Great vid! Have you tried ways of harvesting solar energy (complete project) ?
That “interesting” sound lol. That’s one way to put it
Mine washing machine coil doesn't have metal housing! Is this a problem? :-)
NIK TECH as long as it has a large coil of wire inside of it, so in other words yes it should work.
UAVwaffle thank you but I already made this and it works pretty well!☺
NIK TECH thought so, glad to hear that it worked.
Great project.
can i use a 12 volts solenoid valve
But does it work on phones like while making a phone call??

So using headphones instead of a speaker wouldn’t need a modification for decreased output?
I didn’t try with regular headphones, just a piezo Electric earpiece, and that needed no modification, perhaps a regular headphone though would
hurms X you could add a switch with a attenuation circuit for either speaker or line levels for headphones.
Bro you have impressive videos, what is your educational background?
Interesting project.. Nice work ...!!
I don't need to build one of these, my dynamic microphone already does this!
Awesome video! I'm going to build this..
Could you make a video on how to convert DC to AC?
Wait, so if I put this next to someones earbud cables, i could hear what is being played! Thats awesome

Can you make a muscle stimulator
This is awesome!!! Thank You!!!
what voltage was your solenoid.and would a 240v solenoid be better than a 12v one?
ive tried to make one of these with a transistor and a huge inductor, but it didnt work. also instead of a speaker i tried to use an LED
Henry Swan
You will need to bias the gate of the transistor to make this work.
Can it be used as wire detector (eg. in wall?)
If the wire is producing emf.
Oooh TEMPEST stuffs!
Awesome!
As someone with hyperacuity/tinnitus, I don't need an amplifier. It's a blessing and a curse. Friendly reminder to wear your hearing protection.
You young guy are great!!! And brilliant also a bit corny especially at the end.....LOL Corny is an old term to say goofy funny which to me is wonderful so it's a compliment. Keep up the great videos!!!
Thank you, nice video.
That was brilliant. Now make real time x-ray camera or video recorder
what core does to solenoid/inductor **have?**
what inductors can be used in this project? can i use smaller one
No content on tanner tech???
yooo what up keystone
keystone science youre way cool
Can we use any op amp?
Stone Cold7 The LM386 is a dedicated audio amplifier IC, you could theoretically use any OpAmp if you have it wired correctly.
Tanner Tech ok thank you
