Jan the drone shots with the hoar frost makes me realize why winter can be a great season in it’s own. Sure it brings on some extra challenges and at times can down right suck but I think it makes us appreciate the other three seasons more as well. The new feed mill is looking great and a few months from now you will look back and wonder how you got by without it for so long. Your Dad must smile every time he sees it in operation. Stay safe and thanks for another great video.
You and your family should be Very Proud of your setup !! You have a Great looking farm ! I Truly Respect the fact that you Keep Everything so Clean & Tidy !! And that you take Responsibility , and clean up on the road when needed !! 👍👍👍
Thanks for the feeding tutorial. The feed mill set up will give your farm a lot more flexibility of when and what grains you purchase and grind a wider variety of grains as market prices give you options.
Missed this video. The hoar frost looks so pretty. But too cold for me. I am hoping for not much below -5C. Nice too see the benefits of the feed mill. It must have cost a pretty penny.
Sure did enjoy it, Yan. Be carefuly, you would make an excellent TV presenter. You are always so bright and wholesome. Great intro with the drone shots, great video shots and helpful explanations. FIVE STARS
I used to feed 300 cows plus ys here in the UK with a twin auger, double axle diet feeder, but put the corn etc as you call it, we call them straights, sugar beet, distillers, soya etc in with out the PTO on, as it weighed a lot better with no movement. Straights are so ££ it made sense, but adding the forages last didn't affect the mixing of everything if you let it mix 10 mins- in that 10 mins, there's always something to do, fetch some bales closer to a yard or move a pallet of mins to use etc
Great video Jan. Can you give as a complete tour of the new feed mill? I would love to see how the whole system works and why it is set up the way it is.
I too, want to see it in action!! GREAT drone shots Jan and great explanations of how and why you mix the different ingredients in the feed!! Finally figured out why I wasn't getting notified of your latest vids!!
Always interesting & educational. with excellent filming editing, content & presentation. I too, like many others, appreciate the drone footage. Too bad you are not able to operate the Feed Mill Storage Bins remotely from inside the cab, especially in the winter. Thank you for sharing your work day .🚜 🚜 🚜🐄🐄🐄🐄 🚜 🚜🚜
Excellent video! Enjoyed the door discussion. As for the feed mill set up ~ Congratulations Jan and the entire Kielstra family! Thanks for sharing your vision and your Canadian pride (awesome to see your Nation's Colors waving over the new build)!
I think this is my 3rd winter season watching your videos. I have to say every winter you find a way to make dealing with winter a little easier. Aloha from your fan here on the Big Island of Hawaii. 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Ah, I thought you had filmed a new intro for your videos with your drone work today! The Winter Wonderland aerial views were great! I love how the red in your Canadian flag on top of the grain leg contrast with the white and grey colors of the season. We're still mowing the lawns here in South Louisiana! Do your cows produce higher or lower butter fat content during the extreme cold? How are your Ukrainian hired hands doing these days? I haven't seen them in any videos lately. I know it must be rough on them to be so far from home right now.
Another great video, as always, and I have to agree the drone footage at the very beginning is great, I thought that was a new open for you. Your drone stuff is just amazing. Keep up the great work and stay warm, or at least try to. Happy holiday season to you and the family.
Awesome love to see other countries Farm and I'm from Wisconsin I used to use way in my steer operation we would just let him drink it probably a good idea to mix it with feed I'd be afraid of the feed freezing solid
I have the same scale on my feed wagon. You guys should really look into entering the ratons in the scale so the scale tells you what to load instead of using the feed sheets. Doesn't seem worth it but once you get used to it way nicer.
A job involving many hours and great sacrifice during the 4 seasons and 365 days of the year, rain, snow or shine. Thank you Jan for sharing your experience, a worthy example for many.👍🤟🥇
The new feed mill seems to work well, but I am a little concerned about the height of the augers. If serious snow falls, it must first be cleared away, otherwise the feed wagon is simply too high and can be damaged.
I'm from Northern Michigan we just went through 5 days of winter storm warnings with lots of lake effect snow I love it! My husband and I are retired and in our 70"s
Hate the cold & snow, but looks nice. Dairy farm across the road frm me is building a new 60 milking rotary. Could be intresting to see. Think he milks 600 or so. I'm Midwestern Ontario. Glad the new feed system is working well so far. 👍👍
Well your guys farm looks amazing it makes me want our farm to have some of that stuff too hope I can visit and see more about it soon thanks for always making great videos bud
I enjoy seeing how my neighbors to the North do their farming. What a beautiful farm. Those feed lots look so cold. You showed putting bedding in them before. Do you have any cover for them at all?
As seen at 0:24, only corrals 1, (to the right) 8 and 9, (to the left) have shelter for their young stock. The rest of the corrals just have windbreaks. That being said, once manure starts to mix with the straw, it will create natural heat. (As it basically becomes compost)
I used to work at a dairy in Wisconsin and they used the whey for liquid calf feed. They also ran it through a U. F. Machine to seperate permeate & proteins. Than run through an evaporator to remove water then dried and bagged.
Interesting how one can learn new ideas, such as how keeping heat blowing against the overhead door, is a negative thing after numerous years of using it, and obviously, after recommendations. Very interesting indeed! It being in the mid-minus 20s in the middle of November is frightening, however! I'm in South Western Ontario and it hasn't been that cold here since just this past week and now it's getting freezing cold, although they "claim" that it only "feels" like minus mid-teens and I do not believe that but I also promised to plow snow this winter again... UGH!!!
You can purchase a glass oil reservoir to mount on the crowd gate, mount a oil brush on the bottom that touches the chain and periodically fill the reservoir and it can constantly apply oil to the chain, it will help prolong the life of the chain.
I always love the drone footage of the dairy farm, why do you all never show the farm house? Would be awesome to see how it looks as part of the dairy farm. But I understand if your family chooses not for it to be shown in the videos. I am just a lover of old houses and especially old farm houses. If I had my choice I would take a run down farm house over a new house any day lol. Would love to have one to renovate.

Loved the opening drone shots!!!! That was really great. Thank you.
Great job young man. Gotta keep those animals happy and healthy.
Great video and helpful info on mixing feed and why and how it's done the way it is -- Thanks Jon
Thanks for the feeding tutorial. The feed mill set up will give your farm a lot more flexibility of when and what grains you purchase and grind a wider variety of grains as market prices give you options.
Love the flag at the top of the leg.
So appreciate you sharing with us❣️
New feed mill is Uber sweet😜‼️
Stay Safe. Keep the faith for this 0C barn temps❣️❣️❣️
Thanks for the explanation Jan. Glad to see the new set up is working so well.
The feed mill is a nice addition to the farm. I don't how long I have been watching your videos but you have come a long way.
Missed this video. The hoar frost looks so pretty. But too cold for me. I am hoping for not much below -5C.
Nice too see the benefits of the feed mill. It must have cost a pretty penny.
Great drone shots. New feed mill looks like it's working out great.

I think it's really nice that you have so many big trees around your Farm
Looking good in your office, Jan. Quite the juxtaposition from your farm work. 🇨🇦👍🏻😁
nice video Jan. thank you
Jan u got another haircut looks good I like how you are cutting it more often.
The opening drone shots were fantastic, another interesting and informative video, thank you for sharing.👍

Jan another awesome video drone footage was great. It is cool to see your flag flying high and proud over the farm.
Great awesome video Jan , new feed mill working nice ,

Great to see the bin setup is working as well as you hoped.
I find when it gets cold I get a lot slower as well!!!!
Very good video sir Jan looks like the new setup is working good well done

Glad to see the feed mill set up is working. I’m sure you’ll tweak it to really get it dialed in. Great painting behind you in the office btw.
I think some kind of curtain as a thermal barrier near the door would be helpful
Great looking feed for the cattle
Jan you have the best drone shots! You really know how to show the scale of your operation.
Your farm is even prettier in the snow 😁
Beautiful drone shots. I love winter. We have the cold in place here in New England USA we just need some snow.
A job involving many hours and great sacrifice during the 4 seasons and 365 days of the year, rain, snow or shine. Thank you Jan for sharing your experience, a worthy example for many.👍🤟🥇
Hi from Saskatchewan
The new feed mill seems to work well, but I am a little concerned about the height of the augers. If serious snow falls, it must first be cleared away, otherwise the feed wagon is simply too high and can be damaged.
Good drone shots
Another great informative video Jan.
Keep up the good work 👍
I put in a big tank and fed whey in my hog houses for two or three years. All the salt in the whey was sure had on my equipment and concrete slats.
I'm from Northern Michigan we just went through 5 days of winter storm warnings with lots of lake effect snow I love it! My husband and I are retired and in our 70"s
The images with hoar frost are AWESOME
Love the drone shots! Thanks for another great video!!!
Great feed setup Jan an Dad Have a day Happy Thanksgiving love from Texas
Great vid, Jan! I love the way you explain things. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful drone shots. Thank you for the video 😊👍🥶
You should put the whey more towards the back so it doesn’t run out the door in the mixer.

I believe your work will bring joy to many people in the future. May your hard work shine bright in the days to come.
Awesome opening drone shot!!!

Farm seems to be getting pretty fancy and more efficient. Equals less work
Jan,, Great Job on the new Intro..👌 👍
So glad I am in lower USA. 20 years in Michigan was enough cold and snow.
11 days from now I’ll have 70 years of being a Michigander
@@BrianGLee-bc7hj and I have 20 years in Germany
I've got 73 yrs in Michigan
Always enjoy your videos bro.
I'm American but it sure is nice to see your flag flying high. Love that. Your family has developed a fantastic operation. Kudos.
does the livestock eat more in the winter?
New drone view is so peacefull
Thank !
Wen that feed station is easy worked with it makes feedin an awful lot pleasanter an u don’t mind feedin an doesn’t feel like a chore
Good work. Nice drone shots.
I used to work at a dairy in Wisconsin and they used the whey for liquid calf feed. They also ran it through a U. F. Machine to seperate permeate & proteins. Than run through an evaporator to remove water then dried and bagged.
Their farm feeds their calves pasteurized waste milk, from their treated special needs cows.
That's why we are in Canada because we like the snow and cold weather !
Cheers to you from Edmonton.
Nice VD...
After watching the ariel view of your operation I think you have the most efficient setup I have seen.
Interesting how one can learn new ideas, such as how keeping heat blowing against the overhead door, is a negative thing after numerous years of using it, and obviously, after recommendations. Very interesting indeed!

How do you keep the food from freezing when you add the whey? Is it eaten before it can freeze?
Great video.
Do you need to worry about the whey freezing in winter?
Seems like a lot of work for a glass of milk, still loving your videos, stay safe
Top vidéo 👍, I watch from France,
Rock on! I always look forward to your videos! Cheers from Portland, OR!
Nice Video. Preciously explained.
Beautiful site
👍🙋👉🇹🇭
I always love the drone footage of the dairy farm, why do you all never show the farm house? Would be awesome to see how it looks as part of the dairy farm. But I understand if your family chooses not for it to be shown in the videos. I am just a lover of old houses and especially old farm houses. If I had my choice I would take a run down farm house over a new house any day lol. Would love to have one to renovate.
💪💪
I thought I was cold.
I was looking forward to the winter intro💯💯💯
Glad your enjoying the new feed mill but I'm sure your not enjoying the cold weather as much
👍👌❤🇨🇦, another Sask boy, me too
