If I remember correctly this was the one where the NKs used a football field or something as a mass grave when they told people it was just a detention center. I never got more rage filled during a game.
@Etendard1708 Yeah. It's a stupid decision made by Activision Not the first time some executives high up in a company tramples on the original dream of the story writers & devs
Homeland developers planned to make a China as antagonist factions, but they feared that this game will not be accepted on Chinese stores and changed them on North Korea.
@user-kj5bj7bc8i Really?? Why does this story reminds me With New "Red Dawn"??? But that's doesn't matter anyway. the game sucks, and maybe they never reach Chinese Market like new "Red Dawn" Did.
Ah yes memories. While Homefront (1) was very short (max. 4 hours) and the gameplay was not really great to say the least, the story or the lore is actually awesome. Quite deep and dark - dramatic, catching, exciting. The Intro or cutscenes in general and the start was just wow. To bad they didn't continue the story with Homefront: Revolution, especially after this very unsatisfying cliffhanger of an end, but instead made a complete different game, even changed the acctual background and put up a complete different storyline to play. They made the gameplay even worse and especially alot more repetitive than the first game (I mean 50% of it felt like watching filler episodes) and there is absolutly no variety - the hole time you do the same again and again and not even have much of an arsenal, at least as much as I can remember from Homefront: Revolution. It was an absolute disappointment that I remember very well. I had alot more in this just 2-4 hours of HF1 than with the 30 hours in HF2.
I'm not going to lie. For me, the scariest thing about the intro to this game was seeing Hillary Clinton doing the press conference and the thought of her being the President of the USA.
I just thought of something- instead of making the antagonist a Korea unified under Northern rule, why not make this an alt history game where The Empire of Japan wins WW2 in the Pacific and East Asia and then launches an invasion of the USA decades later. It would be much more believable than North Korea invading America.
I remember playing this in middle school, now I live in Korea and speak Korean. Everything about the North Koreans is so....bad. The English accent is a Chinese accent, not Korean. Not to mention the pronunciation of their Korean is really off, it's not a Northern accent, let alone a Southern one. It sounds like me, a white guy, the first year I was speaking Korean
That's because the aggressors were meant to be Chinese instead of Koreans. But, I could probably say that the Chinese had some financial investment in the studio that made this game, and opposed the Chinese being the Aggressors. And that's why they've been replaced with North Koreans, and now it makes less sense than before, all because some Chinese that had money poured into it said no to the Chinese aggression part. That's also explains in the 2012 Red Dawn on why instead of it being the Chinese, it's the Russians and North Koreans instead.
