- Promotion for the fifth and final season of Star Trek Discovery is now in full swing, as Paramount has released a new trailer for this crews final adventure. Which seems to confirm some of the plot points that I have mentioned in my videos about this upcoming season of Discovery. Hey Everyone, welcome back to What Did I Miss, my name is Eric. And today I want to take a look at this trailer and point out everything I saw. Which includes the return of one fan favorite character that up until this point had not been featured, along with a confirmed connection to the Mirror Universe. There have been a lot of rumors surrounding this season and what surprises the producers may have in store for Star Trek fans. Even members of the cast have gotten in on the fun and teased many connections to prior seasons of Discovery as well as other shows and films in the Star Trek catalog. As well as confirming that this season would connect with a very popular short trek that included the USS Discovery. So here I am going to go over all of that information and also give you my theory on some of these rumors. I am very much looking forward to a fun season of adventure. I would really love it if Aldis Hodge made a cameo but I'd settle for tying the Calypso short trek loose ends up. I hope none of the major characters die and would love it if Saru did indeed become the Ambassador to Ni'var.
Re-watching Calypso I realized one aspect of setting things up years in advance that will make no sense at the time. Calypso was released between season 1 and 2 but included Zora... a character who wouldn't become known until season 4.
This is the third analysis of the trailer that I've seen and it's my favorite. Best done -- good job, Eric!!!!

You missed that the set with the Terran Empire badge is the sickbay from SNW Enterprise (so a 23rd century vessel), & there’s a very quick shot of Starbase 1 from the first 2 seasons of discovery (again 23rd century). Quite big things to miss, maybe u should do another video on this!

I’ve really enjoyed this series. Season 2 was my favorite so far. People give the series a lot of grief, but without it we would not have the other newer series.
I'm sad that Discovery is ending so soon. I just hope this season they don't focus so much on the whole "gender" and gay thing. Trek has had that already, and it was never a "big deal." It was never a big focus it just was. I think that hurt last season. All in all I can't wait for this season. Being a Trekkie since 1986 I hope to see more Trek especially in the 24th century. R just need a better Enterprise than the G 😅
OMG Could it Be Possible that the Crew of the Discovery Ends up Further in the Future Hundreds of Years in the Future and the Ship has to Catch Up the Long Way Around.
Or One Possible Way and This is Less desirable but Maybe The Ship and Crew are Traveling Through Time Maybe Because of the Black Hole that we see in the Trailer maybe among The Time Periods they go to They Go to TOS Time and See The OG Constitution Class Enterprise Kirk and Crew, I saw Less desirable because I want to see Shatner Kirk Somehow End up in the 32nd Century. We Did See that Kirks Body was Recovered in Picard Season 3, So anything Can Happen.

I Hope we get More Spin offs in the 32nd Century other then Starfleet Academy Like a Voyager J Spin off with Saru or a Show on a New Enterprise but Please Reattach the Nacells The Detached Nacells Look Odd and Hard to Ignore.

This has turned into the absolute worst Star Trek series ever. I have been watching Star Trek since the early 70's both TOS and TAS and for the first time ever I stoped watching. This series needs to end and be forgotten. STD is a Disease with no cure.

I would not watch season 5 if it wasn’t the final season. One and two were awesome. Three was good. Four was unwatchable.

Such a depressing Star Trek series. Bring more Strang New Worlds as this show has a lot to learn from SNW... first lesson, stop all of the crying on the show. Sooooo depressing.
I’ve already written the show off in terms of it being able to elicit any kind of a thrill for me. For me, it is now superseded DS9 as the worst Star Trek live action entry thus far.
Thank god its over. I am embarrassed to say that season 4 sucked, These are suppose to be Federation people, and instead of being professional they are all whinny cry babies who without some emotional support animals couldn't get through a bad meal in the mess hall, never mind taking on life threatening problem to the universe not just the spaceship. I personally found the amount of tears shed in season four was more of a threat to the universe than the mining company from the other galaxy apparently run by strange looking lobsters, who apparently can destroy multi universes but speak in Color codes. Enter "Close Encounters of the third kind" sequel. I can't even write this with out throwing up a little in my own mouth. Of Course I have and despite this show will always be a STAR TREK supporter and fan. Believing that no matter how good the actors are . it is the writers who put this "crap" in the words of the actors. So maybe they did go on strike because they just do not have any thing left to offer.
