    Super day! Had Bini to win, double points, Philipsen, Pog, Wout, Abrahamsen, Arndt, and Grignard. 54th on the stage! Rose to 290th!!! I took your Bini podium pick at the last second and swapped it from Philipsen. Ecstatic. Thank you thank you thank you. Greatest race in the world.

      My team is as above, but i have 3 trades left, I guess I could unload a sprinter and add? Vingegard and drop Jasper?

      @@Didyoureallythinkaboutit how many riders do yo have in total? From the 8 race days left, 5 will be for GC/climby guys, the ITT will also be for the GC guys, then 1 sprint stage and 1 hilly breakaway stage, ideally you'd want your team to reflect that repartition (yet, hey, being up in P290, you don't need me ey 😝

      I mistook the results yesterday, Jasper won not Bini, but my results were still great. I have riders 8 riders. Traded Jasper for Vingegaard. So now Have Pog, Vingegaard, Girmay, Abrahamsen, Van Aert, Evenepoel, Grignard, and Arndt. Winner pick for Stage 14 is Pog. Two trades remaining.

    Everyone underestimating Rodriguez. Came so far with pretty much not wasting too much energy and has for sure the better support than e.g. Evenpoel in the mountains with Bernal, De Plus, G , maybe Pidcock as relay. Also he has proven himself in the past in the high mountains.

    This has Breakout written all over it. Pogi and Jonas will make it personal on the last stage. If Jonas doesn’t drop Pogi in the early (steeper part) of that climb, they will go to the line together

      Think Jonas edges him out again?

    • @CyclingGuy
      @CyclingGuy  Месяц назад

      It's not excluded, yet unlike Stage 15, I don't think this will go to the break, for that to happen, after an easy first half of the stage, the GC guys would have to take the Tourmalet easy, which I really don't expect

      @@CyclingGuy be interesting if uae launches yates up the tourmalet to make visma chase and wear Jonas down before the final climb. These guys are fresh for climbing. There is going to be some separating for the contenders.

      Jonas didn't make time on Pogacar the other day, Pogacar fatigued & lost time.
      Remco also benefited from Pogacar fatiguing, given he was 54seconds down at one point & pulled it back to 25seconds on the line.
      So many people thinking Jonas did an amazing ride, but forgetting about Remco who you could say was stand out performance of the day...& Pogacar did indeed fatigue buy 30seconds, this being the only reason Jonas caught him.

    hello & TY for your daily point ;
    with a difficult stage also tomorrow, you don't believe in the breakaway for today?

    • @CyclingGuy
      @CyclingGuy  Месяц назад

      Hi there, and my pleasure! As you know, I always tend to speak with 2 words, because, cycling races can always develop in a way that beats the logic or the trend we've seen till that particular stage. Given that the first half of the stage is not that hard, I think it will be difficult for a breakaway with strong climbers to form and build a sufficient gap prior to the Tourmalet, and there's so much climbing in the second half of the stage that the break will need a big gap to keep the GC guys at bay, eg it is very unlikely for them to slow pace the Tourmalet, all that combined makes the chances of the break very low in my book (very different for tomorrow's stage, which starts climbing properly out of the gate)

  • @johnnewman4985
    @johnnewman4985 Месяц назад +2

    I believe you are right about this being a GC stage. I concur with your top two picks… However, I envision Evenpoel folding like a cheap suit on the last climb. He will drop out of the podium tomorrow.
    How do the bookies rate Pidcock so high and Rodrquez so low? I have Rodrquez for third.

    • @CyclingGuy
      @CyclingGuy  Месяц назад

      I was also surprised to see Pidcock that high up - As for Remco, I think the fact that the finish climb is steep at the bottom, yet then flattens out is actually to Remco's advantage.

      That the steep part of the climb was early, did indeed seem to benefit Remco. You called the trifecta today. Great job. My guy finished 4th not 3rd. I stand by my call regarding Evenpoel. My timing was off. Evenpoel will pop during the third week on a long, steep climb, and finish 4th or 5th on the GC.
