What he said is spot on. John got unfairly hammered whereas tone deaf Brownie kept getting the praise on his Solo road. All true Roses fans know exactly just where those original tunes came from. @@BloodSweatAndMeth
Shame this guy has quit music for good although he is a very good artist. I like his solo stuff, despite his gritty voice- a bit like Dylan in places. What year was this from? Song was released til 2002 on his first solo record.
You can say what you like about the Brown V Squire thing but what has Squire done since the Roses split? He was supposed to be the most talented member. The Seahorses? Decent enough but they were just a front for him to wank his guitar more! 1 solo album which finished him. By comparison Brown was written off as the one least likely to suceed and has went on to have 4 sucessful solo albums and sells still out gigs. Brown is worthy of the praise he gets because he's proved so many wrong
Like Bob Dylan could sing! Or Van Morrison! And as awful vocalists as they were, no one could perform their songs like they did, with the same pathos. Same for John Squire. He's one of the last true greats and this song is beautiful!
i dunno. first was andy watts, then mark heaney. I don't think he looks like either of them. Heaney is a def bad-ace. check out his solo album if you don't know it yet.
You prolly dont give a shit but if you're stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the new movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother these days :)
Great tune and great lyrics - if it was sung by an actual star - it would've been a worldwide hit! John Squire is a fantastic musician, but he should sell his lyrics to someone who can sing.
@Mikk Lüftumie .. It's a good voice and (at least SOME) technical talent that defines a lead vocalist. ;-) Browny had all the presence but an awful voice. The next gen Manc frontman - a certain lad from Burnage - had the same (albeit a less animated) presence but also the voice. Of course, though , this is just my own opinion.
14 years on youtube! Worth a comment just for john squire!
I know right. I don't remember where I found these videos.
John Squires... he looks so happy singing live on stage. I so wish he'd come back. Come back John and all is forgiven lol xx
Squire. The man
No reason to be forgiven what a song John Squire and video
this was at t in the park - i stayed for the first four-ish songs, wish i'd stuck around for all of it really !
i still love you john
time changes everything. how true is that. i fuckin love this song.
he's as gritty as Bon Scott!!
John sings in tune, nice to hear roses tunes live with in vocals 😊👍 yes I know this is not a roses song.
John... pick up your guitar and come back!
The world needs you and we miss you!
yeah
big thumbs up
TE-MA-ZO. grosso john, te amamos! :D
he got slated off many people for this album....don't know why I really loved it and I'm a big roses fan too
@@BloodSweatAndMeth No, seriously??What? You mean other people have opinions? Well thanks, I never knew this ....

Do you still feel the same way today?
Squire had a second album, huge flop
@@BloodSweatAndMeth I wouldn't know, nor do I care as the roses are overrated, they were great icons but average musicians
Like Mozza & Marr. Great Guitarist complimented by a Great Lyricist.
Squire reminds me of Marr.

After he gets the strat, at 4.45 theres a quick second where he’s back to the les paul then a second later bCk to the strat pretty odd.
Think he had tuning probs or something wrong with his LP .. quick change
i am 1 of d biggest roses fans eva and i didnt no squire cud sing, reni used 2 do all d backin singin....shame johnny never sung!
Van Morrison sings great!
Rispondi a questo video... ahah! true! Actually... I think John sings more in tune! :D
what are you forgiving?
it's just an expression?
gosh, puttin' pressure on a person!, he's human remember...but slightly more..."all the peacemakers turn war officers"...
John thanks for Oasis, master!

He sounds fantastic dude 🤘
closed in your mind quick to shoot off your vocals !!!
yeah but he needs a front man
he needs Ian
and vice versa
He's a better singer than Brown will ever be.

@Mikk Lüftumie I DO know mate. I'm a Mancunian musician myself.
