What an amazing woman, adopting not just one dog, one with horrendous emotionally scarring, but two dogs, so he'd have a buddy and someone to help him grow more confident and feel safe! The world needs more people like this, and more landlords that allow pets to renters! If I could I would rescue, but I can only have one pet and I rescued a cat already.
I know right! Been trying to find a place that will allow me a dog but no luck finding one in my area so far. Hope one comes up soon tho. Always had animals around me but dogs are my favourite but landlords aren’t having it! Makes me kinda sad.

People are so quick to give up on dogs and cats because they think they are too wild and they have them put down which is a shame. No matter how traumatic the story is with time and love any animal can be transformed it may take a long time but it can be done. This woman is a good soul.

awww. I would assume cause of the dog fighting he would be aggressive towards other dogs not the opposite, so sweet.
Until he snaps one day for no apparent reason and kills the other dog or his "mommy" without provocation.
And people like you said the same thing about Michael Vick's dogs and it never happened. You can take your uneducated opinions and fear-mongering about pit bulls rescued from dog fighting somewhere else.

I think people neglect the fact with herd, pack and flock animals that humans aren't equal to their own kind. I got a mentally shut down horse that it's soul usage was work in an arena and once done he was put back onto a stall again and repeat for 8 years.
When I bought him he was mentally shut down. He didn't want to be with me, scared of everything, wanted to stay in his stall all day he was depressed in a state of learned helplessness. I moved barns to one where he was allowed out in pasture 24/7 with a herd of other horses. (Horses only sleep a few minutes every day so it must of been mind numbing to be in that stall all day.)
We started to go on walks and trail rides, and just doing stuff on the ground rather than in saddle but even then I felt like he wasn't fully out of his shell with me around him so I decided to adopt my other horse Liaka as a companion only horse to be with me and Sputnik with our day to day lives and to say he blossomed was an understatement he bloomed into a curious. It was like he was finally able to see to see the world for the first time and enjoy it. I'm grateful for Liaka who offered the companionship I couldn't give him as a human.

I have a male labrador, and he used to be our only dog. He used to lick his skin until the point it was raw. We couldn't do absolutely anything to stop him. Whenever we left the house, he would lick until he hurt himself. And we gave, and still give, all the love he deserves, plus he stays inside the house with us, slept with us.
He is our big baby.
It only stopped when we got another dog. This time, was a female 1yo labrador
She was so shy and scared when she first came to our house...
They helped each other so much. The male, Marley, never hurt himself again; Mel, the girl, is now so energetic, loving and confident. They play together, sleep together.
It's pure joy to look at them

I’ll never understand public distaste over black cats and dogs. I have a black cat (Maine coon mix) and he is a sweet and lazy cuddled. The only thing unlucky about him is his tuna breath.
Yep my baby Toby, black cat, recently passed away. He was the most cultured and civilized cat to ever walk the earth :) walked on a leash better than most dogs, understood tons of commands like no, this way, later and wait. One time he got loose and was speed walking away from me down the side walk lol...i was yelling at him to stop but he wanted to cross the street to go to the park. Got to the cross walk. A car pulled up and I got so scared he'd try to run it but he understood street rules and sat down waiting for them to stop, to my relief. They saw him on the edge of the road and slowed down and stopped. They made eye contact, and then he crossed the street using the crosswalk with their car pulled up LOL. They just stared in amazement while I ran up to the little bugger 😂 my mom was terrified of black cats and hated cats in general....one month with him and she was obsessed, got her own giant Maine coon :) RIP Toby ❤

Where i live they are illegal in the city limites and if they get put in the shelter they can't be adopted by anyone so they are basically put down immediately becase of what some people train their pits to be. there only hope is a pit bull rescue saving them.

Nothing is more satisfying than seeing an abused dog regain its ability to trust and love, again!
My baby mama and I rescued an abused Maltese on (a) Valentines Day. Even though we had a six year old (service) Golden in our home, Lola was still emotionally damaged... the first 3 years were extremely challenging, but we never gave up. Then, one morning, Lola began to trust and show affection for all of us (and my service dog).
Five years after rescuing Lola, which was last year, our Golden died unexpectedly (undiagnosed and misdiagnosed heart tumor). We were all (and still remain) devastated! We now recognize that Lola had formed a super pack with our Golden. Lola sensed the cancer and never left our Golden’s side. Tragically and unexpectedly, Lola died (her necropsy was negative and all labs were normal) of a “broken heart” four days after our Golden died. It was a double gut-punch losing both within a week’s time.
Both of their ashes now sit on our mantle where we have a LCD screen that autorotates thousands of pictures/videos we have of them in our life.
A year later and I still cry over their passing. A home is not a home sans man’s best friend.

I cant stand cropped ears on dogs. Having said that, I'd love the opportunity to do some myself on people who run dog fighting rings.
My Pitbull didn't get her ears cropped when she was younger so she had to deal with ear infections though

This pitbull's mom is like a dog psychologist. She knew what he needed and has a happy ending life with son and daughter with 2 extra leggs.😍 she is absolutely right to say that dogs love mom in a way human can't comprehend. I respect this mom and am so thankful for adopting them. GOD, please bless this family abundantly. 🙏😍😘👍💐🤗

Oh my word. I'm so glad I watched this clip just now! I've had the worst week that I've had in a long time. I've been knocked back a few dozen times in the past 6 days, and went into this weekend under my covers in bed. Didn't want to emerge for anything, and just hide from life for a day. But these two just melted me and put the biggest smile on my face. Cute as hell!!

OMG this is like so cute. We found our baby underneath my car during a cold spell. Same breed her ears were cut tons of scars and bad scarring around her neck. We fell in love at first site. We got her spayed and she was only 35 lbs. We gave her tons of love and space and now she is a cuddle bug and is around 70 lbs. and the love of my life.

They take the dog that loses the fight and toss him in a trash can, even if he is still alive! I watched a documentary about it and it was the most heart wrenching thing I've ever seen. They also use "bait dogs" to train their fighters. They'll tie a little dog to a fence or tree and let their dog in training tear it apart. Again, if that little dog happens to still be breathing when it's over, they'll simply throw him out in the trash. The violence I feel for people like this is indescribable!!!!! You deserve to die if you have the ability to do such an act and feel NOTHING in the way of guilt, compassion or remorse. Humans disgust me.

Thats true. Dogs that half-rip off kids faces and kill and eat cats and other dogs are still good dogs. They're also not harmful at all either, even though some of them kill and maul people and other living things. It's all the person's fault. It's the person's fault every time. Even when a dog grows up on the streets without ever having been raised by people. Bad bad people. A kid I grew up with got attacked by a stray dog that had no owner and grew up wandering the area. That dog's non-existent owner is a horrible person and should be locked up. HORRIBLE person.
