Even thru everything they are still good friends and they have the same feeling about Kyuss. It was something that can’t be recreated even with the right ingredients. We where left with the greatest 3 albums ever. I thank we will live
Dudes I saw kyuss live in Dallas Tx. At a small club in 1995.un fucking believable best live rock show I've ever seen still to this day and I've seen all the big groups.
Absolutely incredible! 🔥 I was blessed to see the same thing happen with Nick Oliveri on Halloween at the Staples Center... they did 4 songs together, for the first time in many years. Unforgettable experience!
It's a pretty big mindfuck that Kyuss had been broken up for 10 years at the time of this concert and that this video has been up for almost 13 years....
@@jayrum7303 Crazy to think next year it will be 20 years since this happened. And 10 years since I discovered Kyuss, who quickly became by favourite band.
Garcia and Homme....Simply awesome. I saw Kyuss in Grand Rapids in 94, and Garcia was so Blown Out, He had to be carried on the stage. Great Show. 35 minutes later, Garcia Collapsed. They just Jammed and Josh Sang. They had one guy from a Local Band go up and sing Whitewater and some others. But it was a sweet show. A Kyuss re-union would make me go from "6 to midnight" in a heart beat.
It will probably happen again. Might have to wait another ten years though to hear the most unique vocalist paired again with the most unique guitarist to play the greatest music to ever be produced. But it will happen. Time heals all wounds.
Whether you like Homme or not, his influence and dedication to his music, what he brings to the table is undeniable to all but the die hard haters. This is fucking incredible, with a relentless, brutal energy that is intoxicating. I've never been a huge Kyuss fan - Like them but I'm a QOTSA obsessive - so I don't have all that baggage, but this is a great track, brilliantly played and sung - I'm enjoying it for that alone.
he’s a good guitar player but his songwriting is boring. his melodies are so weak. he ruined them crooked vultures imo. Dave and John deserved better melodies
I think there is too much attitude and ego all around with these guys. That being said, something like this helps remind me why I love Kyuss so much and it seems Josh was really in a groove with John that night. Hopefully at the end of the day, they all know the magic they created out in that desert.
It's so strange, those 2 persons that I'm so familiar with, both on one stage, playing this song, but both of em are the extremely aged versions. Josh is an completely other human since Kyuss and John looks also completely different. It's like I can't even grasp it, it's beyond my consciousness. It's a brainfuck seeing this video if you're an Kyuss/QotSA/Homme diehard fan.
@SuperVultureculture Garcia's vocals compliment the Kyuss style perfectly. I used not like him either, but his voice really grew on me pretty fast. He's really only on the Wretch/Sons of Kyuss CD's, but they were like teenagers when they made those. He really came into his own on Blues for the Red Sun, and you realize that his voice is just an original one. Certainly not monotone. The only guy that could've done better in Kyuss, IMO, is probably Mark Lanegan or Layne Staley
Saw qotsa in Raleigh about a month and a half ago and they did a breakdown during better living and josh started playin el rodeo in the middle and man we need at least one or two og kyuss shows I’d pay a solid price to be there
garcia sounds so fucking good here, when they play thumb like this it sounds like it would have fit in so well as a hidden track on era vulgairs. kyuss forever!!
The lighting effect makes it look like theres smoke coming from Josh's guitar! John Garcia has such an awesome voice, check out two times by karma to burn if you like that kind of sound.
The vocalist is John Garcia. John was the singer for KYUSS with Josh. If you have not heard anything from KYUSS, you my friend must search here and everywhere, KYUSS sadly did not last as long as they should have.
I reckon the chemistry that made Kyuss is Josh, John and Brant. Scott and Nick on bass were awesome too. Without any of these dudes, they aint't Kyuss. Kyuss were awesome
What i ment was that i didnt think so many people would know what this song was... It is an epic moment, shame they didnt play that when i seen them...
fucking hell, just do it one more time... i really understand josh saying that kyuss had its time and that's it. but our time on earth is already so fucking short ffs.. they're already 45-50 years old, the window is closing
Kyuss' best song.... cant believe so many people in the audience were cheering when it started.... Maybe there just cheering coz its QOTSA and not coz there playin a kyuss song... QOTSA rule man....
Garcia and Homme playing together is something special
Even thru everything they are still good friends and they have the same feeling about Kyuss. It was something that can’t be recreated even with the right ingredients. We where left with the greatest 3 albums ever. I thank we will live
@Booitsnick i wouldnt say greatest albums ever but theyre goddamn fantastic

Imagine to be in a QOTSA concert and all the sudden Garcia shows up and you listen the "thumb" entry....MADNESS!
Sublime sht.
Absolutely incredible! 🔥 I was blessed to see the same thing happen with Nick Oliveri on Halloween at the Staples Center... they did 4 songs together, for the first time in many years. Unforgettable experience!
I would explode 🤯
I was there, Josh went on to say I wanna play something old, really old and Garcia walks out. We were jamming! They played 3 tunes
I was at this show and it was mind blowing
I nearly had a brain aneurysm from yelling at this show when John hit the stage
Haha I bet!
Same
i love how josh plays the intro, then garcia walks out of the darkness
EPIC.
One of many reasons this incarnation of QOTSA has remained my favorite ever. They were a whole other level of amazing in that time.
The intro gives me chills every time I hear it.
Seriously... _HOW COULD IT NOT?!?_

I have seen this clip over 30 times. The guy that filmed this and put it up: We need more people like you on this fucked up planet.
Imagine the bass.
As amazing as Kyuss Lives was when I saw them in Toronto and Guelph, this version is simply amazing. What a difference Josh makes holy shit
Homme doesn't get enough respect he has a style that is incredible. Very hard to describe but u just feel it
Kyuss lives was so meh. Like you say, Josh cannot be missed in that line-up.
@@creepyd444Not enough respect?. QOTSA, were said person sings and plays guitar, is one of the biggest bands on the planet......
Dude when Castillo starts drumming that’s the best part

Josh's solo at the end is so sick...you can tell he's having fun playing the old stuff. Fuck they need to do this more often
legendary! pure energy...never get in this vibe again

+MrRetroville and hopefully Oliveri will be there!

Last year JH said he is open to doing some shows or a tour as Kyuss.
I'd like them to do some new material. Prob never happen (as Kyuss).
This what Kyuss is suppose to sound like... the energy is off the hook! Plus josh seems much happier without the job of singing vox!
Idk, it seems in the end he felt awkward about it. Sounds good though.
I love Josh's knee dance moves :D
its bit like Elvis.
This is like one of the best Kyuss songs ever.
It NEVER gets old.
This was awesome x10000.

yes get to work
At least they're not that old here- imagine them now! John doesn't even look like John anymore man.
I love QOTSA but KYUSS! Kyuss was just another level, still havent heard anyone come close.
2021 who's still coming back to this video, and still remembers it coming out?
update for 2023
@@mtc5 still here friend
I love QOTSA, but I'm still stuck in 1993 and Kyuss is the music of my soul.
man ive seen Queens heaps but if Garcia ever walked out on stage with em i would nearly died! Please reunite Kyuss!!!
Pure awesomenes... Joey Castillo is a beast.
Kyuss - the greatest band that ever lived
Holy shit i love the bass feedback at the start of Thumb.
josh's guitar tone dookies on that guy who plays in john's tribute band
Because josh IS the tone
josh homme is possibly one of the best guitarists ever in my book. wish he was with kyuss still
Still here in 2023. Would've killed to be there that night & hearing that intro in the dark.

what a perfect moment when Mr. Garcia enters the stage and the first tunes are played! Great
This video proves why there should be a kyuss reunion, fucking brilliant.
Thank you. Josh needs to watch this again, always at his best when concentrating on the guitar.
this is a great performance garcia is the man, i wouldve loved to go to a concert with bjork reeder garcia and josh the most

I read your comment before the vid started, and I must say I doubted you... then I heard it and i felt sick like I had vertigo.
I got goosebumps watching that. I can't imagine being in that crowd when that happened. I bet the Kyuss fans nearly shit themselves.
They sound way better than Kyuss Lives! playing Kyuss songs.
No Baloney it basically is Kyuss to be honest
The guitar player they have has the worst tone.
