- EDIT : COPPA THIS IS NOT MEANT FOR CHILDREN. The musical/manga/anime I am drawing about in this video is Death Note which holds dark themes and despite there being no graphic cursing, violence, sexual content, etc. I made this with the intended audience of adults who have watched and enjoyed Death Note in mind. I do not want children to watch this video or have anything to do with Death Note until they're of an age they can understand it. Thank you.
This video is made under fair use and I do not profit from it whatsoever. I really love this song so I wanted to make an animatic for it. It's my first one so don't judge me too harshly please! I plan to at some point down the road revisit this and remake it but for now I'm pleased with how this has turned out. Anyways, see you in the next video!
1:13 I FREAKING *LOVE* the symbolism in that L and Light have different hands on the clock rather than that it’s black but like light is the hour hand which moves slow and that L is the minute hand which is what moves the hour hand and light only makes moves towards hiding when L makes a move and even they say it in this song not word for word but it’s there I forget tho but it’s just so amazing u did great 👍🏻

@@lemonandtheart4961 omg I love this!!! when I saw that clock hands my original thought was that the minute hand is 60x faster but the hour hand is 60x stronger so essentially they both are equal, however their strategy differs the minute hand would prefer numerous smaller blows(L with the revealing himself, camera, fbi, etc) for their opponent while the hour hand would prefer one time consuming fatal blow (light with the whole yotsuba arc plan)

I know right! A lot of people say the Death Note movie is bad just because it was made a produced here in America, which yeah that can definitely be a factor, but this is proof, the whole musical was originally written in English before making its way to Japan and this not only slaps but follows the source material much better!
Well, being better than the netflix movie is not much of a challenge XD

I like how these two don't really see each other as enemies but rather as opponents and yes there is a difference
one thing i love about this song is that when misa enters with a big speech, light ignores her because hes only focused on L. throughout the musical he never once duetted with misa, he only duetted with people he respects like L and his father.

sweet heck i love this so much!! Stalemate and this is how it ends are probably my favourite songs from the musical and your art style is so fantastic!! ryuk is so funny too. The symbolic red and blue eyes is an amazing detail too!! (The little puppet scene is beautiful) I haven't seen any other content for this musical and i love it!

I also made another video for 'I'm Ready' in case you didn't see it. It's only a little bit of the way through because I got scared of COPPA since y'know old people think all animated things are for kids. I'm currently making a few videos about my snakes and an animatic for Good Omens but I'm thinking I might make some more Death Note animatics. I really appreciate your kind words

By far the best animatic I've seen of this banger. Masterful from start to finish: The reaction shot of Sojiro. The immediate pivot from "I am L" into song-as-internal monologue. The natural extension of that concept into a fantasy duet. The clock symbolism. The color-coding. The split-screen shot on "who blinks first".
Special mention to incredible love and detail that you put into Misa's solo, as her explosive proclamation of love gets immediately ignored because Light and L are busy playing mental 4D chess in a mildly homoerotic fashion. So their entire dynamic in a nutshell.

You know. Pretty sure light never would have been caught if misa hadn't come along. After all they found evidence convicting misa with the videos a week after she appeared. Where as light they never really found any evidence to convict him until the very end.
