Over the last years the Lithuanian soprano has risen to the highest prominence; her disc of Rachmaninov songs has received extraordinary praise. Tchaikovsky had come to play the role of mentor and father figure to Rachmaninov when he was a student.

Finally a superb singer who dares to perform with a really outstanding pianist - its wonderful to listen to this recital!
Are you suggesting that no other *superb* soprano before Grigorian has *dared to perform with a really outstanding pianist* ? If that is what you meant, then that is quite the unprecedented, earth-shattering accomplishment by these two and we should forget about anything and anyone that ever happened before, during, since and after her. As I said, the accomplishment must be *that* staggering.

Agreed! If I recall correctly, her Met debut was postponed because of the pandemic; that said, it's really a shame that her belated debut features her as part of a rotating cast of sopranos singing Butterfly. Probably this is one casualty of the complicated scheduling traffic, but still . . . Nevertheless, it will be worth it if she is paired with Jonathan Tetelman as Pinkerton. (As of today, they are paired for the May 11 Live in HD performance. Fingers crossed....)

Her mother was Lithuanian... In 3 years after they're divorced, but their Daughter spiked with Father armenian language to his death in 2015y. & with her mom in Lithuanian still now!

Хотелось бы более светлого звучания, разнообразнее красок.Все прозвучало как-то в одном ключе. Когда присутствуешь на живом концерте, восприятие совсем иное. В записи все гораздо отчетливее слышно.Желаю молодой, талантливой певице,больших успехов в оперном репертуаре,а также в исполнении наитруднейшей камерной музыки.

Яркий пример того, что природа на детях не отдыхает. Дочь блестящих оперных певцов в совершенстве овладела вокалом. А какие у неё божественные пиано!!! Браво, браво, браво!!!

Why does she need a mic ? This is an operatic voice.. should be able to carry anywhere. When is she going to show that she has a soprano range beyond A natural that she has b' s and C's
