When I went in to the hospital, I was told I had textbook apendicitis, and a med student was even brought over to poke my abdomen to see how perfect of a case it was - then, when the doctor found out the imaging came back fine for my appendix but my pancreas was inflamed, he said it was likely caused by excessive alcohol intake and that they wouldn't give me any pain medication because it was possible I was just looking for a fix. Horrible experience and a traumatic time.
i had acute pancreatitis. my pain started before Christmas and i was finally diagnosed correctly Jan 4th. My husband said i was just constipated, or that i had gas pain. dr said ulcer. ER said i was fine and sent me home. When I was finally diagnosed i was in 12/10 pain screaming. no one would listen. fentanyl was ineffective. I required 3 days hospitalized. they gave me fluids i could not eat, and i needed dilaudid every hour
Me too! Our story is exactly the same! My husband thought gas too. I needed dilaludid every hour. Im actually at the hospital now for it. Glad you’re doing well 😊
*Pancreatitis* is the inflammation of the pancreas, *caused by* gallstones, alcohol, or other factors. *Symptoms include* severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. *Treatment involves* hospitalization, pain management, and addressing underlying causes. *_Chronic cases can lead to diabetes._*
My brother is in hospital with this now, he had the pain on and off for more than 6 months but was not seen by a doctor due to covid and that the pain went away, finally a doctor saw him and sent him to hospital with suspected infected gale bladder, they did scans and said 75% of his pancreas had died and they think it was to do with gale stones moving onto the pancreas, he is only 32 and has been there for 4 days so far but we still dont know if they will remove the dead flesh or not.
First time I felt this pain was at work. I felt stab in my stomach I went to the bathroom I thought maybe I had gas, cause that’s what it felt like. It hurt to push. After that I had upper stomach pain one day for work but it went away. Now, I have it and it’s been 3 days and I’ve taken pills or even alkasetz and it has not gotten better. I am not sure it it’s this? I also feel like I need to 💩 when I feel this I’m afraid

Is the pain steady, or sudden? I have pain attacks that last 15-30 minutes. I take beta-blockers.
Mine last 2 days and goes away just few hours

Is itchy skin a symptom of pancreatitis?
Possibly but that would relate to Liverpool disease more commonly.
I see hepatorenal syndrome with it. These patients are most challenging.
