When I bought my first car I had 15 days to wait, and watched a lot of videos of people breaking the same car. They all break because of hitting hard obstacles like rocks / concrete. So I cleaned my dirt track of every single little rock and NEVER broke anything in more then 200 runs despite all tumbles it made because they all finish on grass or dirt ground. I can see now bigger cars get the same problem and that problem is not the car :-)
Nah mate, never the car! Malta has rocks. The main roads have rocks. I can't clean an area of any usuable size and even if I could. I wouldn't. 😉😂 I love the jumps and bouncing. Ive got a JLB cheetah, and the controller is the same-its a rebranded DumboRc! Im seriously considering the roller version of the ZD! I can swap the electrics back and forward between the 2!

I just got this rc V3 Jan 2021, partially due to watching reviews on youtube. I have spent entire day getting this thing into running condition. All drive shafts were a "press" fit into the drive cups at he dog bones! The wheel driveshafts were the worst. Taking the car apart I had to Use a screwdriver to pry the cups a bit to get them out. They would bind the suspension motion when the drive shafts were horizontal, no movement in the cups. My shafts are plated in a bronze/orange colour. I was able to remove the coating by filing and simply rotating the dog bones in the cups. Some of the coating was cut and a very thin sleeve slid off the pins. The black transmission's shaft pins were not pressed symmetrically, again I had to correct that with a hammer and a wood block. Next are the diffs, the front one was so tight on the pinion/ring gear, I could count each tooth as it fell into the next with a solid click and detent action, rear was also too tight. The sides of the differential housings (output coupling holes side) are not parallel, they are caved in (manufacturing/material defect). Due to this there is physical interference between the inner wall of the housing and the differential plastic cup (opposite ring gear). I had to file down the cup a little, use three 13x16 mm shims to get some clearance here as well as get the pinnion/ring gear to mash properly. All screws into aluminium were just drenched in thread locker, had to use heat. Same thread locker was apply onto my front plastic C mount by carelessness, eating away at the plastic and causing lots of play at the pivot ball. The aluminium hubs are not machined to close tolerances, wheel bearings are loose in what should be an interference fit, more fixing on my part. The motor mount is separate from the centre diff carrier, makes for a messy gear lash adjustment, and keeping the gears parallel is a pain. You-tubers are snapping the wheels at the hub to spokes area, I filled these thin spots with baking soda and super glue. ESC needs programming card, no programming button. Yes comes with Dumborc radio, which is great. Body came smashed as the receiver was sitting loose on top of the car, just expect that as a norm from Banggood. I only got this car ($350 usd delivered, no batt) because I live in Indonesia and Arrma or such products are x2 or more western prices. Yes it has lots of good looking components, the above issues (will be common to ZD 1/8 series) however makes it a project and deffenetlyf not RTR, yes it ran out of the box but after the purchase I did more digging and found vids showing all these issues. So $35 bucks of shims, a new body and a day off work I have a what should have came in the box. Go get brand name cars, these Chinese clones are a Russian roulette. Hiya. Aliexpress mostly but parts aren't easy to find. However you can actually use parts from several different cars. If you scroll down in the comments on this video i am 99% sure someone gave me a tip on what other car parts fit! And I have only broken one thing after all the punishment I have put it through. And that was a rear wing mount and not while driving, but in the back of my car when transporting it. 🤭🤭😁😁

I can only comment on the pirates 3 and I think maybe you already know my opinion on it! 😂😂 What I would say is that you need to look an your personal needs and desires for looks. Where will you drive it most? Tarmac, gravel, speed runs, etc. Then look at the quality. This one is built like a tank as you saw by how that rock was destroyed. I don't know about the Rustlers quality. Good luck with your choice but you certainly won't be disappointed with either i would say! 😊 Have an awesome weekend and if I can answer any specific questions on the pirates 3 then please ask. Hello. Some manufacturers put a cover over the pinion and spur gear. Some manufacturers do not. Nitro rc cars and larger 1/8th cars don't have covers usually so the dirt and stones just fly out and away. If there is a cover over them then a stone can get caught in there. No cover and it cannot get caught. 😊👌

Both look great, but having bought the BSD one for a steal, I'll just have to admire yours instead. I have to be completely honest here I am afraid...... I LOVE IT! Still my best car! Still nothing broken. I actually have not maintained it either so will do a diff greasing video soon. Its brilliant. Just keeps running! My new ZD Racing EX07 is a close second but this is first because it can also own the gravel and sand!!! 👍

It's a u fair comparison, this is a buggy the others are Monstertrucks. The track where you tried the Buggy had lots of stones, with the wheels of monstertrucks they will certainly bashing easier

John how has the car held up? Do you still recommend a 1/8 ZD racing? I’m thinking about getting the truggy version. It comes RTR (120a esc / 4274 motor) for just under $300 shipped!
I have to be completely honest here I am afraid...... I LOVE IT! Still my best car! Still nothing broken. I actually have not maintained it either so will do a diff greasing video soon. Its brilliant. Just keeps running! My new ZD Racing EX07 is a close second but this is first because it can also own the gravel and sand!!! 👍

Hiya. No need on the ZD Racing models. They come with enough grease or oil depending on model. Tighten up bolts and screws. Charge battery and you are ready to run! Enjoy! You are going to love this car! 😊👍
Actually i ordered the rolling kit. I’ll put a hobbywing max 8 combo with 4s lipo.
Good to know that they don’t need to be greased before running.
Oh that's a nice combo. 4s as well means it's going to go like a rocket so make sure you are in an open area. At around 4kg it's a heavy car and can cause damage. 😊👍 Enjoy. If you need anything then just ask. 😊👌

Hiya. Yes I keep saying it my favourite and still is. Only issue after me beating the hell out of it is that a small pin came lose in the front right dog bone. Bent it back into position and its been fine since. I love my BX-8E! 😊👍

It's a u fair comparison, this is a buggy the others are Monstertrucks. The track where you tried the Buggy had lots of stones, with the wheels of monstertrucks they will certainly bashing easier
