The big weekend has finally arrived... All the training, all the fundraising challenges, all the miles... it all comes down to this. Join Dean and I as we travel to London ahead of Deans first ever marathon; the London Marathon.
We travel with Avanti West Coast trains from Liverpool Limestreet to London Euston and stay at the Premier Inn Hub Westminster Abbey. Find out our thoughts on this 'budget' hotel, which we picked because it is right by the marathon finish line! Spend the day with us as we head to the Excel London Exposition to collect Dean's race number and then explore some of London, all whilst trying to rest Dean legs as much as possible! We wander around Knightsbridge, Harrods, Buckingham Palace and St James' Park. We have lunch in Crazy Pizza Knightsbridge, and dinner at Hard Rock Cafe Piccadilly Circus...lots of carbs and calories for Dean ahead of the big race!

As one of the 99% all I can say is well done Dean on running the marathon.
As for the hotel you'd have more room in a tea chest Seven quid for a wake up call was the final straw..
The door into the window room was probably to reduce volume and save heating cost.

He did absolutely amazingly! I didn't know anyone vlogging the entire thing but I'm sure there will have been! Ben Parkes also made a vlog of himself running it so definitely check that out! He's a great guy!

Hi cat & Dean,sorry im late watching this,first of all massive congratulations to you dean and welcome to the 1% of the world club😁wow i get that its london and the marathon weekend but £350 for 2 nights was a bit steep especially with the window issue,no extra pillow and the floor didn't look particularly great but im with you cat on needing 2 pillows so id have been peeved tbh,wow again i know its london but £52 for a pizza,chips and 2 drinks😳🙈glad you still had a great time and again massive respect to Dean for running it🤟🙂👍

Cat and Dean, what an amazing vlog. Dean is a superstar for completing the marathon. My Mom suffered with COPD for years so it is a charity close to my heart and I know your sponsorship will make a big difference. I can only imagine how nervous Dean was feeling but it was great that he had you Cat, right by his side and all of the Striders virtually cheering him on. WELL DONE

Can I recommend the Alphafly for any future marathons. I would say the Vaporfly are more suitable for 5-10km races.

WOW, a hotel room without a window, very unusual!
It felt very strange! Luckily we weren’t in the room very much at all so once I got used to it a little it didn’t affect us too much ☺️🩵
What number is dean this year?
We won’t actually know his number until Friday when we visit the expo and collect it, but we will definitely post it on our social media once we have it so people can track his progress if they wish ☺️
