Liam look like a former militray-guy / police officer (-> haircut). Makes me wonder why this kind of persona teams up with an open degenerate like Jesus - and it's not that Liam just does not care, he seemingly enjoys his company. Maybe because every other cop / sheriff in this movie is displayed as incompetent or corrupt too. The hidden details of this movies.

@@kevspeedruns9947 Your main thesis in your post is that since "No resolution ever happens, it's just poor Lebowski getting shat on from beggining to end", therefore the movie "is complete shit" and "taken as a whole is complete garbage". You might not be shocked to learn not everyone agrees with this take. One critic in an article I just read stated about Cohen brothers movies that 'their endings tend to hang open like a broken screen door. They don’t explicitly resolve the main conflict, and they remain intentionally obscure'. The article was explaining why Cohen movies are great and why they are very much loved.

It is a testament to how great John T is that in what amount to a total of about 5 minutes of screen time he was able to give us a fully formed character. The Coen's notoriously hate their actors to improvise their lines. John T asked if he could improv with his characters mannerisms and things of that nature. They allowed that and the rest is cinema history.

The legal system crucified him, but not for the 'crime' we're thinking of, that was not uncommon then, eg. Muhammad married 6yo Ayisha when he was 53yo - perhaps his character had deliberately a w things in common with those prophets - Easter Eggs.
