Agree, the face for the crossbar lock flat is very rough. operating the knife multiple times will wear things in and it will start to work better. Taking the knife apart and smoothing the locking face would probably do wonders for the action.
@@knivesiguess I spent the weekend flipping it open and closed and it’s much improved. But I will say the two new gen 2 ones are not as sharp as the gen 1
@ and after I got my switch I’m on RUclips researching what games I might want and they’re coming out with switch 2 this year, a lot of people are saying it could be released as soon as April but the first switch will still be supported … if I would’ve waited there is probably going to be a huge sale on the switch and switch oled
We've had a lot of them from a number of Chinese companies that do quite well and are consistently good. There are of course the ones that aren't so good out there too.
@@knivesiguess I have lots of Chinese knives, and I'm really happy with 90% of them. It's just that you get a bad one now and then, but considering the prices, I can't complain.
You know magnacut doesn't have that great of edge retention.... Only that of around s35vn and decently done d2 will give close to that edge retention and if it's well done then it will out perform s35vn pretty significantly
Well shall I say in a production format... Custom heat treats are a different beast and can make magnacut really perform amazing if the geometry is on point... But production Magnacut isn't all that.
The Magnacut on the Deka went the longest out of everything I've tested so far. That being said, we have yet to hit the S90V yet. D2 consistently last right about 4 hours of a Cardboard Slayer™ session. S35VN did about the same. The Deka went for 9 hours, but I had to put a new edge on it. Factory edge sucked. The orange Dropout ran 8 hours on the same edge. It was wacky.
Man really liking that green. That’s awesome that you were able to get ahold of some.
Glad they're here as well.
My green knife came in PERFECT. Felt like it was broken in for me. Love it!!!
Yeah, that seems to be the case for everyone I've talked to about it so far.
I know there a cheap knife but I carry 1 everyday and it gets the job done great video
It definitely gets the job done
Been carrying that orange one for awhile now. Good knife.
We're fans around here. Amazing how divisive it is.
@knivesiguess to me it's one that's fun to fidget with, and if it gets lost or broke no big deal.
Yes!!! I’m so excited you got these to compare to the OG. I got mine in the mail like 2 weeks ago. They seem exactly the same which is great 👍
It boils down to edge retention and how smooth we can get the action on them.
Ding ding ding round 4 or 5 or 6? lol wish you had a gen 2 orange handle to compare with the black and OD green
Yeah, I wish I did too, but no such luck.
You just made me order the green one. I have two of the original with orange scales.
I'm morbidly curious how the edge retention testing's gonna go.
Glad you got this out this week!
I literally did all of this week's videos right after you left the house.
The finish of the crossbar needs to wear in a little bit before it locks up all the way.
I'll definitely be putting wear on it when I carry it.

I'm gonna try to break it in first.

The edge from factory at that black ozark is a bit insane even for a budget knife. Thiugh QC has always been kinda all over ive learned with ozark
It seems to consistently have that exact problem for everyone that has one.
I honestly love these knives, but just like you my black one needs a little breaking in and it totally did not come in sharp as the others
Yeah, I bet they're made in different facilities.
I just got two of each on Monday. lol. Very curious if the edge retention will be the same as my first gen orange one.
Same here. I'm not expecting it, but who knows?
@ both of them are not as sharp out the box as my first gen orange. I guess I’m gonna have to sharpen them but I’m hoping the heat treat is good.
We're gonna find out soon enough
I’m an adult child…
Hear, hear
Aren't wel all?
thankfully, if someone really wants black they can get one of the other colors and dye the scales
I'm curious to see if we get a bunch of videos and such pointing it out or not.
the internets favorite knife is back in black!...... and green
I would have liked a bright green.
Still packing original with orange Paracord pocket lanyard.
NICE. I made an orange bead for one of mine.
Jan 27th 2025...there be Orange ones all over the place from texas to California but must pick up in store
Maybe we'll get some here, I don't know if I feel like driving around for them.
And I just got a Nintendo switch… it’s ok I’m still getting used to it, mainly just playing nes and snes games right now
I'm gonna be spending a LOT of time on mine when the new season of Diablo 3 drops
@ Diablo 3 on switch?

1. Diablo 3 IS on Switch. 2. The Switch is pretty much NEVER gonna go on sale until after it quits being supported. Nintendo doesn't do that.
Man, reckon i am gonna pick up 1 of these, I edc a Bugout and this is a ......B...u...g...o...u...t..
Yeah, grab the green one
They have the white $5 one listed for $14 right now.
At Walmart's website?
@ yea
It's not just Ozark Trail. Chinese knives are like Cabbage Patch Dolls. No two are exactly alike.
