I think if they showed a little acne on these magazine models it would show young girls that it’s normal and okay to have pimples and still be beautiful. It’s part of being human.
Totally agree! This industry has made women feel inferior for far too long.
It's true! If companies stopped demanding retouching, it will make people feel better. Let's see if any do though.
@@pratiknaikedu unfortunately the truth is that they won't. Way too many companies are based off of our insecurities. Just think if noone cared about their acne how many acne skincare companies, concealer sticks, spot solutions, beauty tool companies would lose billions of dollars? You'll find in history that its usually the same company that created the problem as the solution to that problem. Take cellulite for example. Cellulite wasnt a thing, until a women who owned a salon wrote a column in a magazine (possibly vogue?) About Cellulite what it is and how its bad, and she had a treatment at her salon to 'help' with it. Suddenly she was a millionaire.
maybe we should teach people to not look at the media for standards, instead of telling the media to stop showing people that are too beautiful because it makes them feel bad.
theycannotknow myname no these people are “too beautiful” they’re just air brushed to look unreal. Media is everywhere, so it’s not people who had to change it’s definitely the media.
Good to know that i am not the only one with acne
You’re beautiful! Take care of yourself 💞
Ofc not. We are many who suffer from it. Different kinds all with different treatments available. Take care! ✌️🇫🇮
it’s literally normal... it happens to everyone
Definately not, everyone just uses filters on their pictures now.
I feel u
What skincare brands want you to think they can do 💁♂️

WOW! Great edit, really like that she still looks real and not a plastic doll at the end.
Yes if you edit your portrait using dodge and burn I'll always get the natural look
You truly are a master!!
Irene
You did not erase the blemishes... It looks like you CURED her acne 😮
The kardashians probably have a full time team of photoshop artists on retainer
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Who tf is working for khloe
The model is beautiful, and both the photographer and re-touch guy is amazing at their job. But somehow, this reminds me more of painting than anything :-)
It's true, the photographer is great at her lighting where the end result is painterly.
That's just INSANE, braddah Pratik... INSANE!!!!
Thanks dude :D So good to see you here! Long time man!
Photoshop me like one of your French girls.
Grant you are hilarious.
Lmao
Harry Styles
I think we should show more acne in magazines but this is really good wotk
And models wonder why we charge $350 for studio and 5 edits.
That’s still pretty low by industry standards 😂
Really incredible work. I love the timelapse footage (watching in real time would get a bit boring), but it'd be cool if you could do a quick voice over of it just to give a quick overview of what you're doing. I was trying to keep up with the brushes and methods by looking at the toolbar, but VO would definitely help. That said, appreciate the vid!
Thank you Wayne! I'll do a separate video with a breakdown of my layers for this one. If you haven't had a chance, check out the previous video with the layer breakdown in case you haven't :)!
What I think I'm doing every time I scratch my face :

Wow. This was great to watch. Too many retouching videos have skin that has little to no major issues and becomes more about styling the image. This shows how far you can "correct" for a lack of a better term, issues like pimples and keep a clean end result.
Thank you Bruce :)!
amazing skin editing 👍🏻👍🏻
I wonder how regulated stuff like this is for the skincare industry, like how many “after” pictures have been retouched? Kinda scary that her skin just looks like that’s her normal skin in the end 😥 which means this person did a great job
they’re all retouched. Also, models often don’t use the products they advertise
I did this is on one go, meaning that there are some elements I came back to fix later, some of which include the hairs under the lip, and finessing the eyebrow more by drawing in fine hairs to even it out, and some parts that needed the colors to be fixed. I hope you like the video!
Can you start hiring for your team again, I'm ready to apply lol :P
Awesome work. Really appreciate getting to watch you work. How much is the video sped up?
Hi Pratik, I wanted to ask you what is it that you are doing on the blank layer in soft light mode above your dodge and burn at 1% flow? I can’t tell what it’s doing but interested to know what it’s dong along side your dodge and burn layers! :)
Pratik Naik There was some goo in the corner of her eye also
Thank you the guidance and the direction
She looks so aesthetically pleasing in that raw picture!
Wow that was some serious retouching. Speechless!!! The adit was just perfect it looks so natural wow wow
Vennu thank you for checking it out!
Wow dude. Crazy talent
Damn Pratik, you are the doctor!
We need more of these! Im astonished...great work! 👍
Relaxing to watch
these videos are it man , its been a while since ive retouched but wanted to come back and do some homework ahah
You are THE MAN! Fantastic job!
Thank you for taking the time to check it out!
Wow. Just wow.
That’s super impressive work 👍👏👌
I need this app to use before going out at the night
Really Incredible work 😍😍😍
Thank you :)!
@@pratiknaikedu My pleasure 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This is mesmerizing.. the workflow reminding me of painting a portrait. Quick question, why did you erase some strand hairs that goes vertical? Is it to make it more neat?
Great question! That's exactly why, so it's more visually neat and uninterrupted, but with intention.
The neck birth mark could've remained, it's typically left intact unless the client/model asks otherwise :)
Depends on intent, yes. We get specifically requested. If it's a beauty brand they're removed as it's used to display the makeup. If it's a personality we keep it. If it's fashion editorial, it's up to the photographer, and if it's any other commercial gig, we wait for direction. Always ask the source before making those decisions.

Every girl is beautiful in their own way
Fantastic video .......do you use frequency separation ??
Not that much, it wouldn't really work in advanced situations because I'd have to do twice the work, fix the texture and then the color. The clone brush just does that by default.
Love this! I wonder if you can give description on what you are doing and why so we can learn too! Hehe
I’m one of your biggest fans, great work, please keep them coming 🤗
That means a lot! I'll be sure to keep creating content!
Very nicely done wow
Wow, my face feels much better after this
Absolutely love watching you work. It’s funny when I notice something and think “I wonder if he’ll correct that” and boom it’s the next area you correct!
Haha same. It’s crazy how much fun it is to watch other retouchers work and how much we can learn just from watching.
Amazing thumbnail man font and all showed some style sense

Great work
Even a Model who always go to Skincare treatment that Cost as much as your rent for 3 months also has Acne. Now look at you what to expect who use $3 discounted moisturizer from Walmart..
There is no big difference. The most of affect comes from inside. If body unhealthy, which we all are, it will affect skin. No skincare of 1000$ can fix it. Because only 3% of it will incept the skin. Other 97 is just a waste. It better go to yoga, swimming, eat healthy. That will do much more
@@Alloniya especially eat healthy. And knowing what products you cant eat. When I got to know that I shouldnt drink milk my life became much more easier)
Ivanesa Ivkova could be stress
There are plenty of quality skincare items available from the drugstore. Higher end brands usually overprice for gimmicky claims, added fragrance, and fancy packaging. Do your research, but my skin looks 1000 times better than this model's skin naturally. She has beautiful features, but I don't wonder if the expensive products she might be using are stressing her skin rather than protecting and rebuilding it.
That was sooooooo satisfying
Amazing, please please make a tutorial 😭🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 been looking for this!!!
Check out the description, I made sure to link to my course as well!
You are a legendary retoucher.... is it possible to become an editor/retoucher without being a photographer?
Thank you, most definitely it is! I would still recommend going on set and being with photographers to see how light reacts at different angles to keep in mind what looks realistic when retouching.
@@pratiknaikedu Thank you very much for your reply. You are my idol and I am so happy that you replied. I am a software engineer by profession but seeing your work I got immensely inspired and started learning photoshop. I want to pursue as a freelance retoucher in parallel to my job. Is there any way to be in touch with you? Also plz convey my regards to Bella mam her coloring work is incredible. May the Divine power bless you both with everything you wish for ❤🙏💐
@@bhatta123ab Really kind of you to say :) I sent Bella your reply too! I am honored to inspire you to keep creating, I take that very seriously! The best way to keep in touch would be on FB I have a group called "Photoshop with Pratik". I know many software engineers who do really well with retouching and photography!
@@pratiknaikedu Sir you made my day. I am absolutely grateful and will surely join that group. Feeling extremely happy today. God bless both of you ❤🙏💐
WOW amazing result. i would need to see it in super slow motion 😂
if i can edit the time and bring the past on the day that my skin is clear , i have no hesitation
Amazing retouching!!! I'm a huge fan and purchased two of your tutorials. This is the way I would prefer to edit however I have clients who want MORE like the porcelain doll look. So I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place where I want to give the client what they want but I really dont want to change "my style(your style)". Any advice.
Hey Jakku! I am just seeing this. I understand! I would do what makes clients happy but keep showing the hard detailed work in your portfolio so future clients can learn what to expect when looking at your work.
Wow you have done a great job! Im so proud of you!!!!!
Thank you so much!
Just Amazing!!!
wow You are amazing!
Thank you Jose that is kind of you!
Awesome
this was satisfying to watch. amazing
Thanks for checking it out!
Perfect 👏👏👏
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!
Nice vedio Thank you
U are amazing Sir.
Literally everytime after washing my face, I be like "oh god, it really helps a lot, the pimples are gone" actually, nothing changes...
Look at the food you eat, your hormones, psychosomatic things. Washing is only a small part of the reasons
This is why my eleven year old daughter is confused about what beauty is. No wonder.
Well is 11 years old, what do you expect. Educate her.
So this is how the celebs always look so perfect
Great video
Nice one!
That is soo dope dude!!! I was wondering if you can guide us which course u took for retouching? This Retouching looks quite good and real to me !!
hi Pratik, great video!
what I really want is your actions they look superb
Thank you Rolf! If by chance you have my edu course, they come included free including the full setup: theretouchingseries.com . I am thinking of parting with them separately in the future.
@@pratiknaikedu hi, I am a pro edu pro subscriber ( not dure Whats called) I have downloaded the action from the course but they're not as many as it shows on this video neither are they as colourful. Great course otherwise worth every penny.
@@lordmonkey3285 Oh! E-mail me Rolf! :) Via the contact page.
@@pratiknaikedu I have purchased that retouchingseries, hope you keep as in loop.. ;)
This is amazing!!!! Hello Pratik, I am planning to buy your "The Retouching Series" , my purpose is to retouch ultra close beauty shot for makeup and hair..please suggest me if the course is appropriate for me or not. Thank you
Plot twist: This video is in reverse
Looks like a fun job, ngl.
This girl has really pretty facial features
Wow, good job.👏🏻
Nice, he even kept the moustache. 👍🏽
amazing
So, I'm trying to understand why you use soft light as well as curves to D&B. Is there an important differentiator between the two that warrants using one over the other? Is soft light more subtle than curves and or a way to bypass the need to set your curves? Is it because soft light is diffuse (according to adobe)? I'm guessing it's probably something really simple that I'm missing...
I was so badly broken out when I gave birth to my daughter I was ashamed to share hospital photos. My husband photoshopped the pics for me. Sad I felt that way but acne makes you feel terrible about yourself.
giving birth to a healthy baby made you forget about all that.
my acne are so bad if someone took such an HD closeup of my face i'd go insane :)
The EFFORT! Nice to know even the models have highly textured skin!
Love these retouching videos. Anybody know why he used a blank layer with a white/black (softlight) blend mode to dodge and burn on top of the curves dodge and burn layers he already had?
Thanks Jason! I realized early on that with the regular dodge and burn layers, it wouldn't go far enough for my needs, as some areas were were too dark or too bright. The soft light layer goes much further, but sometimes it will cause color issues (be careful of that).
A good reminder that nobody’s perfect, and even gorgeous models like her can have acne or any “flaw”
Sensei 🙏🏽
So cool. I wonder why the black and white background to edit?
I feel like I've been lied to all my life😂😂😂
🤣😅🤣
I didn't know even the hair gets fixed. No wonder it all looks so tidy yet soft. I can't really achieve that in real life.
Proactiv likes this video.
hi Pratik, nice video, may I know the function of the blank layer for d&b is used to fix what else? because what i've seen is you have used curves for d&b too.
the curves method is useful for skin where the exposure values generally isn't too varying. So you tend to have a lot less of desaturation. The soft light D&G is usually used for hair as the blend mode allows you to use the power of burning and dodging ever so better. Hence the colours in shadows of any can be preserved without making them look desaturated you don't get that washed out look
Sure! I use the blank layer in certain circumstances. Have you ever tried using a curve in really bright or dark areas? It's super hard to pull with the same amount of brush strokes. With the blank layer with the white or black brush, it will lighten or darken much easier in a high contrast area. The downside is that sometimes it can cause saturation shifts so I'd be cautious of that. Otherwise it's fantastic :)!
oh I understand now, thank you very much!
Can I do something like this? Whitch photoshop is this? What I shuold do? Its amazing😍
Yeah! :)
Thanks Michael!
I've never seen someone using the tool bar on the right side of the screen, like ever, im more shocked by that XD
It's a left handed feature
@@renoni3885 oooh
Esto es un poco de todo
I hope I could have you to photoshop my picture 😂 you did a great job
wow
incredible
Now I'm feeling comfortable with my uneven skin tone.
Realy Nice Workflow. But please i want to Know if during your dodge and burn it's realy important to create a new layer and paint on with brush ? Why you don't continue with global D&B directly?
It definitely use, because if you do it all on one layer (including any global) you may mess up and it's very hard to undo one part. This way you can keep things in sections. Very important to implement until you become very certain of your decisions.
Want the full video
Holy shit love it
Can someone tell me which application has been used for the photoshop
Hi! What do the Grain help layer do? Never seen that one before?!🤔
Removes banding on gradients. Specially in backgrounds and skin tones.
A lot of designers use it, especially in movie posters, to help remove some banding issues and just settle down the picture as a whole. It's like the final varnish of the image, masters the picture (just like how songs are mastered before they get released).
@@afloox ok cool Thx!
@@agiverreviga4592 ok cool Thx!
@@MehediEmon_yt ok cool Thx!
The retouching is amazing! I wonder why they chose a model with a skin so full of imperfections...
Makes for good practice and demonstration for the retoucher :)
@@johnandrewfredrickson All right now I understand! So if it's not for a real campaign, it's a good choice hahahaha
You are correct John, just for demo. A lot of the commercial models do end up coming with pretty decent skin most of the time. If we get a good casting director or whoever is in charge of organizing the talent. Makeup can be hit or miss though.
