Oblivion’s was better Jeremy composed oblivion’s soundtrack after a near death experience. The track Aruriels Ascension always will remain my favourite it is like heaven
I listen to this to get away from the real world and escape to the world of my fantasy. I wish I could wander the forests, mountains, and plains of Skyrim in real life, hearing the birds chirp, feeling the gentle drizzle on my face, and searching for adventure.
Makes you realize how penned in we really are. The whole frontier is fenced off. You just cannot wander around like that anymore, and video games are our substitute for our instinctual animal forms of movement.
You're only as penned in as you make yourself. If you want to feel more like you're there, in Skyrim, show it...if you're home alone, act some bits and bobs out, pretend you're a Mage or Nord, fighting off the creatures of the night...create characters, give them names, weapons, backstories, possibly even families...write stories about their voyages, or possibly your own...make their clothing or weapon props...draw your favorite landscapes, new ones, or existing ones...draw your Dragonborn, or maybe just some random race...you're only as immersed as you make yourself...yes, we all have to live with that haunt that we may never travel the lands of Tamriel...but as long as you try to place yourself in their spot, you can feel like you're in their shoes...convince your mind from time to time...it makes the escape so much more enjoyable...
There are plenty of places to wander in real life. I use to listen to Fable 1 music and walk around in the woods. A game is an idea. Your mind can be reality.
I love skyrim man, tried to 100% it but found such a task impossible. Just wondering, why the hell did 40-something people dislike this video? Seriously you thing this is bad or are you just trolling? Lol.

+Jason Rose Being conscious in a sleeping world can be really stressful, I don't know how some people can be prioritizing the plastic drape covering up true value. I'd rather be holding a potted plant over a plastic bottle. They can't even tell how transparent it is. Anyways, we all wake up some time right?
At your precious homes be surrounded by wood, stone and clay (some cast iron) - all local so that you can relate to and connect with the material. Shape it yourself, embrace the imperfection, make things real, make things warm... and we all may heal.
Left everything a couple years ago to start a new life. Always wanted to visit the Rocky Mountains. I lived alone in a small house in the mountains. No internet or TV. Just books and an fm radio. Well I was up at around 3am one night, couldn’t sleep. Felt lonely. Something urged me to go for a walk. It was a quiet May morn, so I walked down to the field. What I saw was akin to some movie, some fantasy. The moonlight shined over the towering snow capped mountains, the wheatgrass gently swaying in the night breeze. I looked up and the entire sky was lit green with the Aurora Borealis and the white speckles of a billion stars. Not a soul for miles. No street lights, no cars, no people. In that moment I don’t think I’ve ever experienced more peace and awe in my entire life. I just sat there for hours, and although lonesome, for that whisper of time, it felt like what life should be. It felt perfect.
My father died in 2015, and this track basically played on a permanent loop in my headphones for many months afterwards. It's still the track I go to when everything in my life feels a little too overwhelming.
I'm sorry for your loss. There really is something magical about this music. And who knows, maybe he is taking a stroll through the beautiful dense forests of Skyrim in this moment, surrounded by sunshine and warmth.
Skyrim is a game that has impacted me more than any game ever has. It doesn't need a gripping storyline, or really, one at all. No, it isn't the politics of the game, or even the dragons. No, it's knowing I can do whatever I want and go wherever I want, and traverse the wilderness of Skyrim for hours and never tire of it. The killing, the battles, the dragon fights with epic music, that's only the cherry on top. I feel a sense of belonging as I listen to this...wishing there was such a world as Skyrim. This strips me to my essence. Nothing describes my longing to live out with nature in a world of beauty such as this....maybe without killing various beasts, but that only adds that fantasy element, when we all wish we were powerful and can do anything. The music touches something in my heart, the subtleties of this game have affected me so emotionally. I think I'm the only one who has killed a frost dragon, while battling an ice troll and a pack of wolves while crying my eyes out at the beauty of this game.
In my opinion, Skyrim serves as a statement, telling us that video games aren't all about killing and violence and hilarity. It's about the joy brought out of a player, and the sense of freedom and satisfaction. Skyrim is NOT a linear game, and you can beat it in an hour or a year, your choice. If, like me, you do it for the freeroam and solitude rather than epic gameplay, then you'll find much more enjoyment. Yes, for the most part, killing is of the essence here. However, Skyrim has so much other stuff to do, that you can't help but go exploring the mountains and caves, without thinking about the epic combat in which most people play games for. Video games can be mindless killing engines, or works of art, and the latter category is what Skyrim falls into.
Amen to that. I like how you describe that the killing only represents reclaiming power and control over our lives and not bloodlust. I could play this game even if you would never get to kill anything.
I have the same feeling for Morrowind. Or Empire Total War when it came out, no matter how bugged it was. Jeremy Soule's music has that quality to penetrate deep into your soul, and good video games add that life passing existential melancholic quality to our lives. Especially when they themselves delve into the other worlds in which we start to believe. The beauty of it, sometimes, is breathtakingly painful, like forever unique and unrepeatable sunsets, that magical ''hour'' when the world seems transfigured and heavy with feelings. Our ancestors from ancient prehistoric times probably felt the same. And good video game and music transports us beyond, into the sweet forgiveness of everyday bounds and into the magical world beyond. Skyrim was magical for me too.
Just the ability to be able to walk through wilderness is wonderful, if you haven't, you should walk through a part of the world unexplored: it's like Skyrim but without this wonderful soundtrack. But a phone can remedy that.
lucy elkins I think when i play this game i imagine my self out in the wilds of south wales roaming the beutiful land of the gower and being free. i only get to do it once a year on holiday camping in the gower!
Dank-Meme Enterprizes Same difference. We belong to it, even if we tried to extricate ourselves from it we are still a part of it. You were just splitting hairs.
Vioven "nature" is not a thing. its a ecosystem, which we are part of. if you dont include us, you might as well not include mammals, in that case you might as well as just not include animals, then you might as well just not include living things.
+Sha Dome It's all different atmospheres. So no, not an entire song. It's just serves like a buffer when some OST music does not do the trick, or when you are in a certain area.
OMG I hate getting "lost" or stuck in a long ruin or cave. It makes me feel like I will never get out and when I finally do I'm so glad to see the sunlight.
I listen to this since the game came out. I was studying in that time. My Girlfriend betrayed me, my grandpa died. I was absolutely lost and felt miserable. I listened to this in the train in a nonstop loop, looking out the rainy window, watching the forests and clouds go by. It brought me home to childhood memories with my grandpa, family, brother, etc. Pulled me back to good times and made me feel emotional, spiritual, melancholic, but happy and fulfilled at the same time. Since then this is my therapy whenever i feel bad about life, it always helps. This is music beyond art. It is like listening to inner peace. And the best thing about this is knowing that all of you may have similar experiences. May it be nostalgia, the game experience, just the music itself. May you all have a wonderful and fullfilled life! And an undeniable huge "thank you!" to Jeremy Soule.
thanks for this video. I recently lost my oldest and best friend Philip. he was 24 when he took his own life. he played the elder scrolls a lot and also modded. this really reminds me of him.. if you read this. call an old friend of yours..
Not gonna lie.. yesterday was the first time I listened to this while sleeping. I imagined myself standing on the banks of a beautiful river, my ideal places. Twice I experienced euphoria. I could feel like I was on drugs and happy. It was amazing. I literally got brain orgasm.
January 2nd 2024, still here. It's been almost 11 years since I first played this game. It changed me forever. It's been 8 years since I finished college. I used to study in the faculty library with "Skyrim Atmospheres" as my background music. This sounds literaly helped me to pass my exams back then. I keep coming back whenever I have to study hard again, or when I need to reflect on things.
i really miss this game. i have some sort of nostalgic depression where i think things will never be as good as they were. i know i should just get over it and its just a stupid video game but i was happy back in 2012 when i played it. good times :/

Same with me... i just can't really forget about this game and how amazing it was to play. And for some reasons i can't seems to go and play it again after plying it for like over 500hours and pretty much doing everything on the PS3
I got more than 2000 Playhours on my old Xbox and this was only 1 Character. The special feeling by playing the game the first time is very special and just one time in you´re whole life :D :/ I wish Icould delete my memories of skyrim and play it again and again :D
+Joseph Agnetti That is what Oculus rift is for, haha. I REALLY want to play skyrim with the Oculus. Would be an awesome experience. Perfect atmosphere for immersion.
That moment when you're a Nord and you're standing on the edge of a cliff at dusk and enjoying the view along with your khajiit, orc, Argonian, Mer and fellow Nord companions after a gorgeous exploration of a Dwarven ruin, sharing the spoils of the loot run and thinking about what people could accomplish in real life if they worked together with passion towards achieving their goals, if only they were willing to look past their differences for a change.
+Morgan Wolfskin And then you thought in real life is like playing in legendary mode without healing and no load/save game, and you became severio pelagia.
+Evil Minion You failed to notice that your battle is taking place on Red Mountain and that one of your companions had discovered the ancient tools of Kagrenac. When the tools were jarred from your companion's knapsack by his violent impact, they landed on a long-forgotten piece of the Heart of Lorkhan. As soon as they struck the shard the Dwemer suddenly re-appeared--this time much stronger than when they left and with weapons far more advanced than anything yet discovered in Skyrim by Mer or Aedra/Daedra. The newly-returned Dwemer immediately render the whole of Tamriel into a virtual wasteland and enslave all--feeding them nothing but the mushrooms eaten by the Falmer.

this song has accompanied me since 2018. i sleep with it every night(literally) this music reminds me of the best teenage years of my life (used russian translator, sorry)
Tell you what, going out into a field with minimal to no light pollution, laying down looking at the stars, and wearing headphones listening to this is so perfect.
Getting into a steamy hot bath, light some scented candles, lean back and relax...have this music on my Bluetooth speaker, I imagine I'm some kind of beautiful woodland elf, bathing in the hot springs of some mystical mountain in some fantasy world and forget about all my woes for about an hour. The nature/wind/bird ambience helps a lot too. I completely lose myself in this gorgeous, soothing music! :)
First semester of the PhD: last paper is due in three days, I'm holed up in the corner booth of a Denny's, it'll be 3 AM in two minutes, I've got about 12 tabs of research open in my browser, and Skyrim's on the headphones. What a life!
Lol hell yeah it actually kinda makes time feel like its passing quicker and helps me focus, it also keeps me relaxed and helps me think. This and oblivion music.
When hearing this, it makes me reminisce of early childhood. Bounding through dew kissed fields in early morning light and dancing to the song of the finches. Mindlessly romping around and enjoying the only place I had ever known. Summer would soon bring on fall, and the northern winds. The cool, but divine caress of a winterly draft was such a delight. I'd remember them being subtile reminders of late winter's snow laced hills, and the happiness it'd bring me to feel the touch of winter.
agree, that part is my favourite part of all skyrim soundtrack,it’s so beautiful and peaceful, just fitted so well when you just wandered with your horse on the woods around riften.
Funny you mention that. I have been into Alan Watts for a about a decade. I am very comfortable with happiness and depression in my life now. Just a funny coincidence because my YT history is this video + a lot of Alan Watts. Right on :)
2018. still using the track.it rests my mind! thankyou Jeremy. I also just found out im the same age as him and he has created the skyrim soundtrack and i have done nothing! i also loved his work on Giants citizen kabuto
Run a warm bath, light a few candles, and relax to the sounds that Jeremy Soule has created. All your worries will disappear as you transcend; through the water, to Skyrim. Whether it be the lush Evergreen Grove or the hot pools that are overlooked by the Atronach Stone. The music will aide you in your spiritual journey across this vast landscape. The subtle sounds of birds infused with the fresh gusts of wind will take you to different locations until you reach a sense of true tranquility.
In 2016, at the age of 22, I was employed as a Chinese-Russian translator at a mobile gaming company in Guangzhou. During that time, I frequently played this masterpiece that never failed to soothe my soul. I rented an apartment with my gf in this big city Guangzhou, and this music became the soundtrack to those days. Fast forward to today, I am 29 years old, happily married to the love of my life (its not a gf that i mentioned above), and we welcomed our daughter into the world just last week. My life has taken a complete turn as I transitioned into a career in IT development. I decided to move back from China to my home country, Kyrgyzstan, where I now live a peaceful and beautiful life. Yet, this music its a nostalgic portal to the past, allowing me to vividly recall those cherished moments from my time in China...
To be honest, this is epic and emotional. I’ll put this on my speaker and lay in bed at night thinking about life, all my regrets, and my drama im going through. It lets me relax, and just lay there. Thinking into another world almost. Let it take your mind. You'll be in a world where everything is beautiful and its just a woods or lake or stream, and its peaceful and your off doing your thing.
I used to listen to this in 2013-2014 all the time when studying for my computer science courses.... can't believe its been 10 years already. Time flies...
it's still my favorite track the very 1st one. everything is blended so well from 1 song to the next though. It's a shame your average Joe will never appreciate how beautiful this soundtrack is.
I bought this game almost a year ago, and I still haven't beaten it. My friends think I just don't play it. I do, the week is just always packed full. But every Friday night, when I finally get a breather, I stay up extremely late and lose myself in Tamriel. I love to wander and embrace the atmosphere, taking mainly sidequests and just exploring. I love all of the random adventures and stories I'd get from just playing and not following some scripted events! The Companions and the College are the only guilds I've completed, I haven't touched the DLC, nor gotten halfway through the main story. I have hardly used forging, enchanting or alchemy. It may seem strange to my friends that I don't binge it. But I love looking back at all I've done in a year, and looking at how much more I still have left to do.
its not actually VI mate, its just like elder scrolls travels, just a side-game, so the next game will be VI, and the online is quite good in my option
oh yeh i could amagine playing this game forever.i normaly finish a game like gta and think well theirs loads of side missions that you can do and carry it on for a bit longer. but you know tou done it all! with skyrim you know thiers moore! its your world!it belongs to you !
This has medicinal/therapeutic properties; providing relief for anxiety, heartache and insomnia. I really love how the ending is a slow fade out to pure white, as if all problems are ebbing away.
You can tell how passionate everyone is about Skyrim by thumbing through these comments. This game also left a major impression on me and I must say there’s never been anything like it before or since. I remember playing this in the winter of 2011, with the snow falling outside of my window as I explored this massive world. As I was trapped inside of my home, I felt like I was discovering a second home in Skyrim. Escapism at its finest. This soundtrack is gorgeous and extremely well balanced too. Visions of the wide open tundra with mammoths and giants, the crashing waves of the icy oceans, and the dark labyrinths of Skyrim transition seamlessly through the song...
Man.... honestly it's just really come to a point, even 11 years later, that I still come back to the Skyrim Atmospheres track *specifically*, particularly when I can't sleep and my mind is racing, or I'm sick with a cold, or my anxiety is at an all-time-high, or I just want to sit down and focus on my writing.... which can be difficult because this track REALLY helps me with sleep. And when I want to sit down and write with this in the background, I end up really sleepy 🤣😂 ... Anyway, I guess that goes to show how effective it is, though, tbh. I swear this track is all you need when you want a restful sleep. If you're reading this, I hope you have a fantastic week and end to your 2022. And may the next year be amazing for you!😊
I still yet to play and experience Skyrim. I'm so glad I can experience first time Skyrim still. However I've decided to go through all the scrolls games and currently still on arena ;)
the music didn't completely hit me until i played with headphones and reached the dead lover's camp at night. the ambient music at the time fit so well with the sadness of the location, i hung around for a long time to listen. i'm playing through this game for the first time ever currently and it's truly one of the most immersive games i've ever played. in love.
Skyrim is a really special game to me. I'm really bad at describing things like this, but I know that I'll always come back to skyrim. Even though I actually know the map almost by heart, I still don't get tired of walking around. The atmosphere in this game is simply breathtaking, I start to freeze in front of my computer when I start this game :D This map kinda feels like home. And this Soundtrack always chilles me down. Especially the atmospheres. There is nothing better than reading any kind of fantasy-novel like The Hobbit or A Song Of Ice And Fire with this masterpiece playing in the background. I'm glad Bethesda and Jeremy Soule put that much effort in the Soundtrack :3
8:10 you know... When this start playing I always stop on my tracks and just lose myself in my thoughts... This song always make me recap my life, my decision, the hardships I have endured and all the good times I have with my loved ones... Not only gives me shivers all down my spine but it also makes me tear... Makes me realize that life is so, so damn beautiful, and that I'm really lucky that it has led me to wonderful experiences... Hell, I'm even tearing as I finish writing this... Guys, be happy. And remember that if things get hard, they will always get better, and sooner or later, they will. They always will. It's just a matter to endure all we can. Life has really beautiful ways to compensate us for such hardship we tackle on.
Three years ago today on the 11/11/11 my gaming world changed forever. Still evokes the same emotions, the memories of hour upon hour exploring this beautiful world. Still listen to this while working and every now and again pause to remember how I felt when playing this for the first time. Jeremy Soule and Betheseda, your passion becomes our joy.
I use to instruct a geriatric yoga class for cardiac patients and included this track for our classes. They were baffled when, upon asking for who the artist was, I informed them it was a video game soundtrack.
Got done training in the military not too long ago. On the days I could actually use my phone or had reception, I relied heavily on this music when the days were long and I was feeling mentally/physically exhausted. Still, after all these years, Skyrim seems to have an almost larger than life feel to it. It takes you away from whatever may be going on in life and takes you to a much happier place. This game will forever be special to me.
After a long day, when I can go though the worst possibilities and situations, I will never not come back and listen to this. I think Skyrim has been one of the most emotionally provoking games for me. I've played several games, but for some reason Skyrim is the only one which truly grips me and takes me away from my current obvious reality. Yes, I understand it's just a game, but when you create a character and develop that character and continue with the story but are also given opportune moments to just go and do as you please in the world of Skyrim, you kind of get lost in it...you slowly become your character. Getting lost never felt so real, so desirable, I only learned this from this game. I don't know what it is...but every detail in Skyrim, the music, the subtleties of the sharp and precise details of say the trees or the flowers or the rivers or even the facial features of every new character you meet, every companion. It's thrilling. You get sucked into this world that you slowly start to believe as your alternate universe, and that is why I am so connected with this game...it has granted me the ability to escape from my current and obviously idiotically dramatic life and I appreciate Bethesda for that. Thanks for the upload, really...this is absolutely breathtakingly peaceful.
28:35 is always so special to me, like, it always triggers at random places, and I have to freeze else it’ll stop playing... such an underrated part, why has no-one mentioned it?
omg.. I lost it at 4:51 the most beautiful piece I have ever heard in existence.. Jeremy has the most precious soul, I cannot thank him enough for composing this
+sinfoodo3 Hey dude, may I ask why you stopped posting videos on your channel? Was just wondering because you seem to have been starting to grow into a decent channel with over 1500 subs, why did you just give up on it?
Serjo777 that requires certain resources that i don't have at the moment. i want to start it up again if i can my hands on the equipment. but that channel is done i won't be using it anymore.
Your comment made me laugh; so true. Sometimes I wish I could just run around and explore with this music without having to worry about enemies, dragons, and hostile animals interrupting the music
@@NkaraflckbNone of the songs here have names, the game itself actually doesn't consider these to be songs, but rather ambient sounds (like the bird chirping you occasionally hear)
bruh I've been using this specific video to fall asleep lately. it's perfect. but I do agree this music is turning the comment section into poets. Majestic af
All you Skyrim lovers, that love this game because of the beautiful scenery and lovely nature. I wonder if you all are satisfied just experiencing this artificially ? There are indeed some places in this world, that can offer you what comes close to the experience in Skyrim - except the dragoons and trolls :-). I recommend the Lofoten islands in Norway to be very specific. We do have the northern lights, the midnight sun, and the epic scenery. We also have houses from the old viking days, that looks very close to what you have experienced in Whiterun. If you dont believe me, go check it for yourself.
I played this to my unborn baby as I was floating in the water of my bathtub...I'll always remember that...This music will always bring those lovely memories back. He's almost 2 now and you can see his appreciation for nature in his eyes. He loves forest hikes ^_^
I think I already posted here when I first listened to this compilation, but I have to add that this is so perfect for me that I now listen to it EVERY DAY at work. It's perfect when I want to drown out all the annoying and stressful conversations around me at my desk. Thanks again for the upload!
When that piano key comes at 8:10...believe it or not, when that came on and I was standing on a cliff watching the sunset (in the game), it somehow inspired me to go to Washington D.C. for the first time, and I was by myself. Before playing the game I thought "how could I do that?" then that moment came with that extremely calming atmospheric sound and I just thought "wait, of course I can, this is my World".
DC!? my knick of the woods. Lot of places to go see and even some to peacefully meditate in….ummm….if you can drown out the sound of traffic. Which isn't too hard. I would actually recommend you visit Harpers Ferry. Somehow both the game and the music remind me of that place
I was looking for this exact piano key. Awhile back i was going through some hard times, I lost both my grandparents and broke up with my girlfriend. One night I was high on LSD with a friend whilst playing Skyrim, and that same piano key came on. As soon as i heard it my whole body & mind just went fuzzy and relaxed. I felt at peace with everything and everyone, I didn't have a single enemy in the world. From that moment on i found out how to love myself again before I could love others and that you could accomplish anything you wanted. Thanks for finding this.
21:10 - 24:50 is so depressing and haunting that I love listening to it while I wander through the western plains of the Whiterun Hold during the night, especially when the aurora lights glitter in the night-sky above. The background wind sound makes it even more atmospheric. For me, this is the best Skyrim Atmospheres theme, the pinnacle of the experience that the world of Skyrim can offer.
Denali national park. Looks just like the plains around whiterun only better, because you truly can feel the cool wind on your face and watch as the looming mountains disappear and reappear behind clouds. A completely intact ecosystem, doll sheep scale rock cliffs and eagles and ravens soar above. Bears bask in the warm afternoon sun, and wolves roam the distant fields. As you gain altitude, the land below is divided by rivers still chilled by the snowmelt. It is beauty beyond compare, and when I visited there all I could think about was Skyrim.
I believe it is a dulcimer, more so the one played with 'hammers' or sticks (whatever they call those things they strike the stings with). Good question! :D Hope this helps!

But watch out before you take an arrow in the knee..

Sounds like a very beautiful moment
Thank you for sharing
this is my dream 😢
My father died in 2015, and this track basically played on a permanent loop in my headphones for many months afterwards. It's still the track I go to when everything in my life feels a little too overwhelming.
I'm sorry for your loss. There really is something magical about this music. And who knows, maybe he is taking a stroll through the beautiful dense forests of Skyrim in this moment, surrounded by sunshine and warmth.
I’m sorry to hear that man

Every song on RUclips has someone claiming to have lost a loved one, like, go away
Video games can be mindless killing engines, or works of art, and the latter category is what Skyrim falls into.
the game is very beautiful it brings a sense of safety
You know what I love about this, it brings good people.
Agreed. All of us here in this comment section, we come and we go.. very nice

"nature" is not a thing. its a ecosystem, which we are part of. if you dont include us, you might as well not include mammals, in that case you might as well as just not include animals, then you might as well just not include living things.

I would like to congratulate anyone who's listened to this entire song without sleeping or without playing Skyrim.
Sha Dome I think so. But it just goes on for so long...
+Sha Dome It's all different atmospheres. So no, not an entire song. It's just serves like a buffer when some OST music does not do the trick, or when you are in a certain area.
+Athena Bassett (“QAoA”) It's a perfect music to study!
Lord Dagobert I agree, the only problem is that when I tried I fell asleep. XD
+Athena “QAoA” Bassett I actually play other games whilst listening to this lol
Loved hearing some of this music after coming out of a long dwemer ruin.
Yeah that's crazy how big these are, sometimes it feels like you'll never see the end of it
Dwemer ruins happen to be my favorite, I will never forget Aftland.
Blackreach is a masterpiece dungeon
Dwemer Ruins are quite emotionally taxing lmao

Simply yes !!! today I was sick... head hurt and so on... went to bed and after an hour bamm good as new...
If they don't have Jeremy Soule return to compose the next TES soundtrack, they will be making a grave mistake.

Perfect homework music. It helps me focus.
I know, right? I did like 3 assignments in 2 days listening to this.
First semester of the PhD: last paper is due in three days, I'm holed up in the corner booth of a Denny's, it'll be 3 AM in two minutes, I've got about 12 tabs of research open in my browser, and Skyrim's on the headphones. What a life!
Ha! In the computer lab on WMU campus, this on the headphones! What a life, indeed!
Joshua Cruz at the end of the day, everything all boils down to Skyrim. It helps us all in its mystic way.

I think Jeremy Soule might have done a good job. Lmao
Rovelius did you just spend 40% of these last 2 years listening to skyrim atmospheres? jeremy soule is the god of music then
Byte Maniak he probably listens to it while sleeping and during the day. thats about 40% maybe more.
Rovelius We are not worthy. And I thought sitting in my room depressed drinking for 48 hrs with this on the entire time was something....
Notion7 Look up some Alan Watts and give it a good listen with this playing in the background, dude. I've been there so I know what depression is like
Funny you mention that. I have been into Alan Watts for a about a decade. I am very comfortable with happiness and depression in my life now.
Just a funny coincidence because my YT history is this video + a lot of Alan Watts. Right on :)
I’m not convinced Inon Zur’s soundtrack for the next Elder Scrolls game is ever going to touch what Soule did with Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim.
Not even close 😭 14:14
i have used Skyrim Atmospheres for many years now at night to send me off to sleep. never fails!

2018. still using the track.it rests my mind! thankyou Jeremy.

Last played skyrim in 2012, but this music keeps with me year over year.
The last time I played Skyrim was in 2021

14:18 and 21:12 just really get me in the nostalgia. I don't know why.

Man.... honestly it's just really come to a point, even 11 years later, that I still come back to the Skyrim Atmospheres track *specifically*, particularly when I can't sleep and my mind is racing, or I'm sick with a cold, or my anxiety is at an all-time-high, or I just want to sit down and focus on my writing.... which can be difficult because this track REALLY helps me with sleep.

M'aiq agrees with you. Very immersive, very nostalgic world, yes?
Absolutely. Well said. 14:14 is completely enchanting. Euphoria. Stay strong ❤️💪
Three years ago today on the 11/11/11 my gaming world changed forever. Still evokes the same emotions, the memories of hour upon hour exploring this beautiful world.
I bet everyone had a moment in TES games when u just stop and enjoy OST and view
28:35 is always so special to me, like, it always triggers at random places, and I have to freeze else it’ll stop playing... such an underrated part, why has no-one mentioned it?
It always plays in the glacial wasteland part of skyrim for me
@@eushak_3340 That's where it's supposed to play at lol
true. really nice part
This is my favorite part of the track! I've always wanted to know what instrument makes that sound
@@jadedzealot7150 It sounds like a glass armonica, assuming the track is made with real instruments and not synthesized (I think it's the latter tho)
omg.. I lost it at 4:51 the most beautiful piece I have ever heard in existence.. Jeremy has the most precious soul, I cannot thank him enough for composing this
+FOREVERgrands dude your avatar is friggin awesome!! the sawed off shotty dude from Boyz N Da hood! love it
That piece is called In the Forests of Tamriel :)
@@Shizaho Is that confirmed? I thought these were the nameless ambient tracks not included in the soundtrack
@@anonymousalien7417 The guitar part itself is called In the Forests of Tamriel, but the song doesn't have all the great ambience in it
@@Shizaho Thank You
why was this at the end of a mario sunshine playlist?
I'm not sure but I'm not complaining. haha
voice actor of mario voiced one of the dragons in skyrim. That's my best guess as to why
+sinfoodo3 Hey dude, may I ask why you stopped posting videos on your channel? Was just wondering because you seem to have been starting to grow into a decent channel with over 1500 subs, why did you just give up on it?
Serjo777 that requires certain resources that i don't have at the moment. i want to start it up again if i can my hands on the equipment. but that channel is done i won't be using it anymore.
sinfoodo3
What's the problem with this particular channel?
I'm going through some difficult times in my life right now. I often turn on this video, which immerses me in a state of peace. Thanks!
I sleep to this every night, and have for about 6 months. Some of the best sleep I've ever had.
me too, for a month now I fall asleep to this every night.
If Tamriel was real, and I was given the opportunity to go there, I would gladly leave everything here behind, and start over there.
Hold on, I'm coming.
Since 2011 I’ve always come back to this track to make restless nights, restful
There's always a D-bag dragon that just HAS to ruin everything
Your comment made me laugh; so true. Sometimes I wish I could just run around and explore with this music without having to worry about enemies, dragons, and hostile animals interrupting the music
I listen to this while I hike in the mountains. I swear I was in Skyrim for 42 minutes and 34 seconds.
+Tealdragon204
A year later and I still do it!
Be glad you're not feeling 100% in Skyrim. That would mean you would probably get mauled by a sabertooth or wolves hahaha.
16:25... makes me feel like I'm on the lake drifting away and entering into another world
What is the name of this song ?
@@NkaraflckbNone of the songs here have names, the game itself actually doesn't consider these to be songs, but rather ambient sounds (like the bird chirping you occasionally hear)
The best part, something out of this world literally
Never have I written an essay on Soviet Russia faster.
In Soviet Russia, essay writes you!
Joshua Cruz In Soviet Russia, vodka writes essay for you.
I guess you were "Russia"an to write that essay! Amiright? Guys?
alsenar2 Pretty sure that's just regular Russia.
lol im doing the exact same thing
bruh I've been using this specific video to fall asleep lately. it's perfect. but I do agree this music is turning the comment section into poets. Majestic af
To anyone who is also seeing this from being on a Mario Sunshine ost playlist, you’re not alone
I don't know why Mario now has a sword and fludd shoots fire
This was very unexpected
Man skyrim is my favorite 3D mario game
LOL
All you Skyrim lovers, that love this game because of the beautiful scenery and lovely nature. I wonder if you all are satisfied just experiencing this artificially ? There are indeed some places in this world, that can offer you what comes close to the experience in Skyrim - except the dragoons and trolls :-). I recommend the Lofoten islands in Norway to be very specific. We do have the northern lights, the midnight sun, and the epic scenery. We also have houses from the old viking days, that looks very close to what you have experienced in Whiterun. If you dont believe me, go check it for yourself.
Heillor Matheus I love this comment. yes, we indeed can experience the miraculous beauty in skyrim in our own lives...
Lofoten🙌🏻
Thank you Jeremy Soule, Im glad you were born
Respectfully,
One of many Skyrim lovers
This soundtrack saved my life
The piano starting at 8:10 just makes me want to run outside and enjoy nature for hours.
Thank youuuu
It makes me think of laying in a pine forest, under the stars
I played this to my unborn baby as I was floating in the water of my bathtub...I'll always remember that...This music will always bring those lovely memories back. He's almost 2 now and you can see his appreciation for nature in his eyes. He loves forest hikes ^_^
I think every human being should have strong contact with music, I have depression and anxiety and this has helped me a lot, I love it!
I think I already posted here when I first listened to this compilation, but I have to add that this is so perfect for me that I now listen to it EVERY DAY at work. It's perfect when I want to drown out all the annoying and stressful conversations around me at my desk. Thanks again for the upload!
Wow this music sure turns people into poets, look at all the huge ass comments with big words describing landscapes
punch of retardeds
Annoying, isn't it?
Rifle Burs?
My thoughts exactly.
Glad I'm not the only one haha
I spend much of my free time writing with this in the background and I still find myself pausing at 28:35 to go out and look at the stars.
Pls name this music
la détente vue par un américain
A beautiful history
I was looking for this exact piano key. Awhile back i was going through some hard times, I lost both my grandparents and broke up with my girlfriend. One night I was high on LSD with a friend whilst playing Skyrim, and that same piano key came on. As soon as i heard it my whole body & mind just went fuzzy and relaxed. I felt at peace with everything and everyone, I didn't have a single enemy in the world. From that moment on i found out how to love myself again before I could love others and that you could accomplish anything you wanted. Thanks for finding this.
35:27 love when this hits.
Very fifth elementy
My favorite part
This game is art.
This game is culture.
you dealt a x16 stealth attack to Vulture!
Love me some Skyrim OST :) Hope you all are relaxing at your finest to this

21:10 - 24:50 is so depressing and haunting that I love listening to it while I wander through the western plains of the Whiterun Hold during the night, especially when the aurora lights glitter in the night-sky above. The background wind sound makes it even more atmospheric. For me, this is the best Skyrim Atmospheres theme, the pinnacle of the experience that the world of Skyrim can offer.
plus, does anyone know what instrument is this at 23:06 (and other parts of the theme)? Some kind of guitar?
I believe it is a lute I'm not all sure though.
Amazing man. I've been there too.
