Hi there, just stumbled on your channel. Bucklands Beach is my home. Sailed and fish out of here heaps. Sorry about the wind these last three weeks, but great for the next few weeks. I’m heading out tomorrow - look out for my episode. And welcome to Auckland. Pierre
Hi JJ the reason for my last tex to you was after reading a comment from others messages sent , it was saying that your videos are 2 or 3 months recorded before you post , meaning any tex we send is out of date , not sure I have made myself clear , I do like your videos and you are special to because there’s not many would do or risk what your doing single handed
Buy a can of ptfe(teflonspray can) spray on sail slugs and up the mast track will make getting sail up much easier avail at bunnings about 20 bucks a can cheers
Are you going to join up at the Mahurangi classics regatta…it’s on 24th to 26th followed by Auckland Anniversary regatta on 27th…will be hundreds of yachts out , plenty of shore parties and bbqs..
When you are sailing between ports do you place a trip report on your vhf radio? I am a radio operator for a Marine boating club and Coastguard. Just interested in your communication process.
That’s a great question. I only placed a trip report in The Netherlands sailing to the UK. And sailing from Cape Verde to Trinidad. So that the Coast Guard could look after me in waters with some pirate activity. I sent advanced notifications to certain countries including sailing from Tonga to New Zealand. I was monitored by Noumea search and rescue, NZ customs and Opua Marina. What is your advice for me in NZ and sailing to Australia later on?
@ boats making passage with in New Zealand generally submit a trip report from place of departure to location sailing to and expected time of arrival. On reaching the destination another call is made to cancel the trip report because it has been concluded. I guess in your case there are many people tracking you with in your support team, so if there was a problem for you they would all know where you are and where you are travelling to. I don’t think there is any maritime law around it Trip Reports, except if you are leaving local territory waters. I find it interesting. Regards Philip
welcome to Hauraki gulf! could you maybe explain why do you have jib sheet pulley on the cabin (exp 9.22min) , not on the deck rail? better for close haul?
It’s come to light that what we are watching in 3 months ago so there not point in leaving comments, and for the reason I will be removing my support unless I hear otherwise .

Thanks. I did indeed that when arriving in NZ, since I couldn’t get it in the Pacific. And I ran out of mine.
Stay safe Amiga 🙏 ❤️

Hi. I use the ones that came with the sails.
Thanx for this video. The signs at the yacht club said it was members only. Did you get a temporary membership at the yacht club?

was thinking that was the reason plus suits the slip on the main better, and the cut on the jib angles.
Thank you for your welcome and your question. Yes it is for close haul of my jib.
Scares me to see you putting fingers in a running engine. Ugh!
Thanks for caring

You can afford to have your cabin all topsy-Turvey when you single-handing. No-one else to please.
