Yeah... based on Matt's commentary, there's a lot of tension going around the shop. I wonder if something happened or if this is just plain old resentment.
that fact that he mentioned Ilya tells me he was just missing for this episode. They never said a word that Sam was leaving, so I think Ilya's still with the group.
Edit: also, Ilya is still listed as master armorer in the description, so yeah again I think he was just out for the episode.
ORRRR based on the changing seasons and the common cold making its' rounds, Illya is sick and took some time off, and Matt is poking fun as most friends and close groups tend to do with each other.

SZOBRÁSZ STUDIO haha fun fact: The sword was infused with the venom of that giant ass snake. It takes in whatever will make it more powerful. I believe it was the 2nd movie/book where Harry stabs The Diary with the Fang from the snake, it's venom was able to destroy the Horcrux which in turn meant the blade was "impregnated" with the venom of the snake after Harry stabbed it in the head.

For the 20th time, that's challenging from an engineering standpoint, not forging. The hard part would be figuring how to make something that's got 80 bajillion moving parts and acts as a scythe, gun, staff, blender and buttscratcher at the same time. Actually making it would be relatively easy, compared to the mammoth task of designing something like that.

It's amazing work guys. When I was in Burbank last year (im from the uk) I was fortunate enough to meet the original Man at Arms shop and seeing them firsthand was awesome. They would certainly be a prized piece to own!!

Sorry, elves were not the best craftsmen in middle earth, the best craftsmen were the dwarves... The only notable elf craftsmen was Celebrimbor, dwarves made the necklace with the Silmaril, they made Mithril and they were incredible weapon makers...

Not likely. Almost every Noldor crafting is better than Dwarven crafting. For example, when Thorin took Orcrist and left his sword, or even when they were already at Erebor, he still took Orcrist.
And who made the Silmarils? Feanor, firstborn of Finwe, and high king of the Noldor. And Eol made the blade that slew Glaurung.

Hell Yes! Why didn't I suggest that? Crocea Mors is a beautiful weapon pair. I've built the shield and two of the sword for cosplay. It would be awesome to see them in real steel. Mine are only wood.

I always thought it was weird that the sword of a legendary warrior like Gryffindor was puny enough to be effortlessly wielded by a malnourished 12-year old.
If I understood correctly, whoever needed it would get it in a size and weight that was perfect for them.
A sword isn't 5 kg, you know. In average, it's 1kg or 1,5kg.

don't forget, wizards are accustomed to dueling with nimble little wands. It makes sense that epic-sized weapons would feel strange and far too cumbersome to wield in their hands. This is the logical explanation for the swords dainty size. Godric was chivalrous and carried this sword because if he ever had to duel a muggle, he believed it would be unfair and therefore dishonourable to use a wand. Basically, he used the 10th century "muggle's dueling tool" - the sword.

The Sword of Gryffindor absorves anything that makes it stronger, like Basilisk venon,never rusts, never loses it's edge! and it adptes physicly to the user, growning longer or shorter according to the user's heigh. Well executed on your part - but I was pretty disappointed with the prop designers when I saw this movie as a kid. It's just such a dinky and ceremonial looking sword. The jewels are gaudy and the whole thing looks like a toy. Not what I pictured Godrick Gryffindor carrying in the books, but I guess only a nerd would care :P
To me the sword in the movie looks too much like a 18th century sword. Which I found weird since grynffindor lived on the middle age

Wow, so much back-and-forth with the molds and casts. When making a series of swords it surely is relatively little effort, but for a single sword, that's intense. Definitely worth it though when I look at that super-impressive result.

it was back like 3 years ago, it was sokka's meteor sword from avatar the last air bender.
They didn't work on it, the reforged crew are not Tony, Matt did make appearances when it was only Tony.
It was probably the kill bill sword. They used like 10,000 pounds of charcoal or something crazy like that to make the steel.

CakeCherryBlossom I don’t think so, Gryffindor might sound like it has griffin in it because I don’t think it has any connections to griffins because I searched up what Gryffindor meant and it translated it to a Finnish word that meant: brave, courageous, etc.
