Good video. I've seen a bunch of people talk about the 3 Powerblocks, but you're the first that bought all 3.
I love training quipment so I understand wanting to have a whole Wall of dumbells in 5lb increments because it's kind of an esthetic cool collection. But it's so expensive and takes up so much space that it's not really practical for most ppl. I think.most ppl are better off buying used 1inch loadable dumbells w the screw on ends, and some old plates on fb marketplace for cheap. I just got a set of powerblock 50s with the intent to sell them...but I really like them so I'm keeping em. They take up minimal space and are good quality/ easy to change weight. The only thing is, they kinda rattle around a bit and I have a hard time trusting the plastic pin although ppl seem confident that it won't break. All in all they're a great investment and have a high resale value.
Great video. I like how you went through all 3 different models!
Welcome, Chris. I have the same addiction. I own 4 sets of blocks: Elite Exp, Pro 50, Power Block Exp and Sport 50. I thought I’d try them all for a few weeks and keep one set and send the rest back. I like them all too much!
Appreciate the comparison of the three models. Thank you!
Thank you for this video! I've been looking for this answer myself!
Nice video. I have the elites 90lb and 75lb ironmasters and I'm so tempted to pick up a pair of the sport 50 for ease of changing in 5lb increments during quick drop set routines... I think having 3 different sets is my take home message from this video! 👍🏻
Exactly what I was looking for. Considering getting these instead of the nuobell cuz it’s cheaper. Bout. To watch it
So I ended up
Purchasing the PowerBlocks. 70lber. The one coated with the polyurethane. Very good recommendation it’s very quiet when doing movements with it. I can only imagine alll the clinks and clanks it would make if it wasn’t covered.
But back to CrossFitting with them. I would give it two thumbs up! You can’t switch mid air like you could with dumbbells so that’ll be some seconds added to your overall time. But besides that. It’s possible and I don’t mind it one bit. Gives me an option of either doing the workouts at home or going to the box. But grant. It if I can post a good time with switching on the ground, with a dumbbell I’d post an even better time! Clean and jerks same thing. Over head lunges and squats feels the same. As. With a 50lb dumbbell. Overall I like it. And I got the 70s expansion so I can go a little heavier than wod weight to help training
Great content 👌 👏 👍
Answered my question about these PERFECTLY. Thanks so much, man! Was literally wondering about alternating snatches or cleans and thrusters.
Ever try Devils press with them?
Seconding this question! Are devil's presses feasible with the elite exps or are they too wide across?
Thanks for the video. Just ordered some of the Pros for myself, so I've been interested in information about their flexibility and limitations.
01:46 Bro I feel you, here the same. I cant get my hands off gym equipment.
Good review! I don't have a "I'm fit" problem, just the opposite, lol. I gotta ask... Why not sell the 2 sets you like less?!? That's $600-800! I'm unable to find how big your hands need to be for the smaller opening become a problem, not I know get the made in China Pros and they are better then the made in the USA Elite series... which is weird, lol.
Have u tried the commercial ones?
Do the adder weights throw off the weight distribution?
Do the Sport do a lot of noise when you use them?
My Elite EXPs feel slightly better balanced because they are more compact - but they have a good amount of play between the handle and the first plate. But my Sport EXPs don't shift around at all - but overall feel a little heavier because they weight is more spread out. Would you concur? Thanks.
Great video.
