LYRICS
I drift out farther away
I got a problem with it & I don’t know how to say
It’s a pink carnation, it’s a hand hastily played
Potboiler wearing out
Give em something to kick up dust about
If it was love you were after,
with a long shadow of doubt
If it’s all you got, yeah it’s all you gave
I got a problem with it
If you can’t do better than that babe
I got a problem with it
Justified it in my own way
I lost myself in it
If it’s all you got, it’s enough you say
I got a problem with it
I drive fast on high alert
Pass the Jet Pep and the Baptist Church
On the county line I’ll be a songbird softly heard
My loose change falling out
Got a heartbreak burn, take the quickest route
On this 4 lane highway I’ll trace it in the clouds

Heard this song just today on the radio while working on a ladder and I halted everything. Haven’t heard this sound in a long time. Brought me to a really good place. Love everything about it
exactly, real band, cool harmonies, great chorus, interesting lyrics
Katie Crutchfield's music will do that to you. Was doing flooring when I first heard Fire, and also had to stop everything I was doing.
Simply effin perfect justified by the goddess ❤🎉
Lot's of people don't want to hear women complaining about how lame men are? I mean - I like it - but yeah.
@@tranzco1173 Sounds like a lame man thing to say
This should have been a massive hit.
it is. it fuckin is!
You can't write a better song !
Late discoverer of Katie Crutchfield/Waxahatchee/Plains. Can't stop listening.
It's like tasting a new flavor that I can't get enough of.
Been a Waxahatchee fan since album 2 - didn't like the last one with the new producer so much but the new one is possibly her best album yet - interesting to see how far she will go now she seems to be flavour of the month - I'd like to know from anyone who has a crystal ball because she's touring the UK finally and playing the QMU in Glasgow so it would be nice to bag that before she gets massive and starts playing The Hydro and charging £100 a ticket
Same here.
I switched radio stations and got turned on to so many "new to me" groups.
This group of groups is a solid marker of it.
I'm not even a C&W fan.
This song gets played inside Bass Pro Shops in Rancho Cucamonga all the time, and it always grabs me by the neck and says, “if you can’t do better than that, babe, I gotta problem with it”.
💎
This song's inspiring. Speak up, be heard be validated when you've got a problem. You deserve to be heard.. I'm on board with anything Katie does.
... awright!!! Katie's GREAT, isn't she?? (I'm from the SOUTH, too!!!) #crutchfieldSISTERS 😉 👍
@@leannamacfarlane4288 My dad's from Citronelle, Al. Katie's lyric about the "red clay earth" in her song Arkadelphia Road reminds me of gazing out of the car window on the drive from Mobile, Al to Citronelle. Snippits of that song bring me back to southern family reunions.
she's an angel
Fantastic! And Spencer Tweedy on drums! SICKKKKKK.
They playing the hell out of it in Missouri
I’m obsessed with this whole album! Terrific songs, their voices, the harmonies. Brilliant!
Tweedy's drumming skips and swings like a dream on this track. Class player.
And did you notice the irony that Alex Farrar(no relation to Jay) also played on the album?
I didn't know who this was until I heard her voice. Can't miss Katie!
This is the best song of the year so far. Literally perfect songwriting. Can't wait for October 14th!
Agreed❤
Honest song, pickup truck without A/C but two women inside with voice control and emotionally touching minds
For years my lifelong friend and fellow psychologist would jokingly feign “unconditional acceptance” with each other whenever one of us did some goof by saying the thinly-veiled passive-aggressive comment, “You don’t have to be perfect for me to love you” until one day a tough-love retort spontaneously emerged, “…but you got to be better than that.”
Was reminded of this while listening to the sweet lyrics of Problem With It by Plains:
“If you can't do better than that, babe
I got a problem with it”
What a great song
I absolutely cannot stop listening to this song.
I got no problem with it. It's a catchy tune, fun to sing along with it. Plain(s) and simple!
God I love Katie's voice! And the doggos in the video? Classy AF! The albums mint!
What a song. I wish I was able to make candor sound this poignant.
I love this. Your voices blend so well. Looking forward to the full album.
New to me song for 2023, and really the first one this year to be absolutely stuck in my head!
I love, love Katie's lip curl @ the 1:36 mark. Such playful, confident swagger. Just a good song that grows on me more with each listen.
The modern world needs more music like this. I just heard this on my local radio station (and I hardly listen to OTA radio). I can’t get enough. I particularly like that riff on the dobro at the start.
A very Fleetwood feel.
Love it!
First thing I noticed. Love it.
That is cliché. I have never heard banjo in a Fleetwood song.
Was looking for comment who thought same as me, love FM
@@waylonwarr6223 What? For example: "Say you love me." The Buckingham picking style, even on guitar, is derived from banjo.
it makes me so happy 🥺
Anyone else spontaneously tear up when vocals start at the beginning? Phewwwwww
Finally a s supergroup I love. Perfect first track. Sounds amazing.
Time to download this beauty of a song. I instantly loved it ❤️ Y'all described it perfectly!! Thanks
I drive fast on high alert
Pass the Jet-Pep and the baptist church
On the county line, I'll be a songbird softly heard...
Great lyrics and harmonies, cool riffs. Really blown away by this song.
Great tune…Katie can do no wrong right now 👏👏
Wonderful wonderful wonderful ❤❤❤
Great jacket!! 🌺
Turns out - this is on the short list of best songs of 2022. And also a likely Million Dollar Song.
clarification. There are a couple few dozen Million Dollar songs. Its currently unfunded, but when my time comes and this idea hits, Million Dollar songwriters, well they get a million dollars.
Great guitar playing!!
Americana DLuxe!! Looking forward to the upcoming tour
This is REALLY exciting👏👏👏
This song is amazing ❤
Damn, that’s good! 🥃
damn that looks good!
i don’t need anything pricey just hogardin will do
@@gracie99999 Haha, yeah, I don’t drink much beer, but that is definitely a great one. Try Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc (White) That’s a beauty! But definitely not as beautiful as this song! 😁 But kinda close, as you can’t just have one listen, I had this tune on repeat, the ladies really smashed it! Also, growing up in an abusive home, ladies, don’t take shit! I watched my Mom take beatings for us, afraid to leave, until one day I threatened my Dad, grabbed a pearing knife and stuck it right in his face, all at the ripe age of ten, in absolute seriousness and told him I’d kill him if he ever touched her again, I was already big at that time, but I would have protected my Mom (God rest her Soul) with everything I had. I forgive him. 🙏🏼
These babes
This is the kinda thing I used to listen to in the late 90s and early 2000s and I'm so on board for it!
song of the year
Love this. Yeah!! Classic happening.now. 👍👍🙃🙏✌️🕉️🌞
Just noticed Phil and Brad Cook in the credits. Nice!
Epic
this song is unreal, im obsessed!!!
One of my favorite songs, absolutely adore these musicians!
Incredible.
God bless Katie Crutchfield!
This is what I needed
This is some tasty guitar.
Omg!!! This is the madonna-britney kiss at the vma but in the folk music, thanks god 🙏🙏🙏😍🎉
Um, no. Sorry. Those two fluff-muffs don't hold a candle to Katie and Jess, women with talent. They don't have to show us their breasts or kiss each other to make everyone's jaws drop.
KEEP'EM COMIN' !!!!!!!
What a gem of a song, and great band!
never gonna stop singing this omg
they just sound real
brilliant!
Got absolutely no problems with this tune 👌
Wonderful song from a wonderful album.
I have ZERO problems with this!! There is nothing I don't like about the music or the video. I hadn't heard it before, was in the next room but THE VOICE !
BOOM! That's KC I knew it, sure enough ran to the monitor and there she was but no Waxahatchee in the title? Whhhaaaaat? I guess it was Plains...but is there still a Plains? Like, I used to sing in a Judas Priest Tribute band AND a punk band P.O.W. and did my own acoustic restaurant shows all in the same year and a half...and then my voice kinda went out. Soo you can straighten me out about the Waxahatchee/Plains thing or I can ask my buddy, Google.
It's so good. It's got a Fleetwood Mac feel to it. But original.
Everything you guys release is perfectly produced : ) Great song!
but do they got their own channel cause couldn’t find?
Second video today I've watched of this band. never heard of them before. Really like their music. Glad I found them.
sweetheart twang excellent 😎
This song was just played on PBS TV *Democracy Now* 👍
really really do like
found this while discovering Waxahatchee and i love the sound !!! keep it up yall
this is really good
I knew I hear Waxahatchee!
Beautiful!
just got tix to see them in phoenix
OMG, LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!!!
I'm from Mexico but I listened this song In a Canadian radio with an app, I like so much this song! [Sorry If my English is bad 😿]
Your English is perfectly fine 👍
CKUA?
Your English/North American is perfecto!!!!
& probably 100x better
than the majority
of non~Latino United Statesers!!!
Your english is much better than my Spanish.
🎧▶🎶✨
Perfection 👏
I remember when PS Eliot’s van broke down and we chipped in. It’s been fun to watch.
As vozes delas são lindas S2
LETSGO
Never settle. Never
Cool ⭐⭐⭐
I love how the guitar solo at 2:25 conjures an image of the guitarist just stepping into the spotlight center stage like school.
This song was in my feed with this song appeared in my feed with 534 views so i searched the musicians and wow I love this song
Miss real country ...
I ain't got no problem with that whatsoever. Au contraire. Bravo
I had no idea katie teamed up during this partciular period my algorithm was still on her old stuff and the kevin morby duets :/
Was this video was filmed around Marfa and the Big Bend?
Loved this song from the first time I heard it on the radio!
Yes. Motel in the beginning was the Riata Inn in Marfa and the road they were driving on was Ranch Road 2810.
You guys ever start writing out some nice compliment about the snare for the drummer but then you don’t want the fiery, hot leads from the guitarist to not get recognition and then you’re like (I think the lads in the studio also did a good job) but you liked this song because you had to get groceries and this just happened to be playing on your favorite local public access terrestrial radio platform???
Just me???
You must live in a cool place. My FM is mostly religious fire and brimstone programming. College town?
I want some of them checkered pants
is more music for europe, would be appreciated
are they affiliated with the Jayhawks somehow? guitar reminds me ..
.
suena en radio doble nueve 99.1fm
Kinda Y'Alternative.
Stuff I've been listening for many years now.
Check out Son Volt, The Beat Farmers, The Long Ryders, Lucero, Whiskeytown, Lucinda Williams, Wilco's first album, Uncle Tupelo, The Old 97's, Golden Smog...
When I first heard this song I could have sworn based on the voice that it was the lead singer HoneyHoney
Hot Diggity Dog!
Almost sounds like Isbell on lead guitar.
Tengo la sensación que está canción tiene un aire o influencia de Fleetwood Mac
Fuck yes!!!
I don't believe they would put a unprotected guitar in the back of a pickup like that. I'm fine with beat-up guitars, but that's instrument abuse! Really good song though.
where filmed?
Marfa. West Texas! 🤠
so much beauty here it's like looking at the sun through your fingers, chills when the banjo kicks at :18 & when the electric growls & purrs at :33, this has all the late 80s/90s rockin' country heart & passion of steve earle, lucinda williams, dwight yoakam, maria mckee, the jayhawks, son volt...can't wait to hear the album in october, with katie & jess it was love at first strum, first word, great set from jess with a smokin' cover of a thousand miles from nowhere here ruclips.net/video/5zaZnvsnheI/видео.html
Who is playing lead guitar here? just smokin’ tone
Brad Cook
Barack Obama’s favorite Music
