Both are good but it depends on your split. If you're working legs twice a week then definitely this one. If only once a week, the other one might be the better option but I'd add in a knee-dominant hamstring exercise in to that as well. But it also comes down to preference and which you enjoy more!
Everybody should consult the doctor/physical therapist before engaging on these exercises as they can create serious imbalances that lead to injury. And they can last forever to heal if they heal at all. I’m still dealing with a piriformis problem and imbalances on my hip due to these kind of exercises. Working the small musculature is so so so important (like gluteus medium).

So I saw your other leg day video. Which would you recommend this one or your other leg day workout?
Both are good but it depends on your split. If you're working legs twice a week then definitely this one. If only once a week, the other one might be the better option but I'd add in a knee-dominant hamstring exercise in to that as well. But it also comes down to preference and which you enjoy more!
THE Most informative videos I’ve found on On RUclips. EXCELLENT JOB!
Everybody should consult the doctor/physical therapist before engaging on these exercises as they can create serious imbalances that lead to injury. And they can last forever to heal if they heal at all. I’m still dealing with a piriformis problem and imbalances on my hip due to these kind of exercises. Working the small musculature is so so so important (like gluteus medium).
what do u recommend
Jeremy, thank you so much for the literature review and even making free, organized pdfs for us. This has been incredibly helpful for my training. Keep up the fantastic work. :)
Can split-squats be replaced with lunges? It seems like the mechanics of the two are the same.
Yup, they are very similar exercises.
