    Hi there!
    Sonax is one of my favourite car detailing brands!
    I’ve just bought the ceramic spray and I will do a video soon on my channel, and I will compare it with c2v3 gtechniq.
    My question... is it good as a topper for a ceramic coating as well?
    Thank you
    New sub!

      I used the Ceramic Spray coating and than the ceramic detailing spray over. The results is mirror shine and ultra smooth effect. Left than 15m job for the whole car. Plus wash and drying . 30m Tops

      Yes, it can be used as a “booster” just like the Gtechniq C2!

    Can this coating spray apply to exterior surface like glass (even windscreen) or plastics?

    • @ndrsg3013
      @ndrsg3013 7 месяцев назад

      I did apply everywhere outside my car(windscreen, bellow wipers' trim, mirrors, widow trims). I don't think it would do any harm/damage . The windscreen looks very clean, but you know the wipers will remove most of it once you use the whipper once it rains, but will be okay for the rear and side windows. It is just me, but each on their own

    I am a huge fan of your products, haven’t pulled the trigger yet on this new product. What is the typical durability of this spray ceramic spray?

    • @customcarcare5919
      @customcarcare5919 3 года назад +1

      Theoretical longevity is 4 months. Reality will probably be around 2 months depending on conditions where the product actually performs well. Anything after that will not be worth mentioning.

      @@customcarcare5919 I have a very amateur (and stupid) yet important question: For DYI Ceramic Spray-on application - since i have to throw away the towel after using them why are they safe to use for the whole car? Is the liquid not gonna harden RIGHT after the first use on my first square of the car's surface? How is it safe to continue with the same towel for the rest of the car?

    • @customcarcare5919
      @customcarcare5919 3 года назад +9

      @@JabbaFanzz Hi Mark, not a stupid question at all! But in short, yes that’s correct. The cure time of ceramic coatings is 12 hours. By this time the coating is hardened and the silica parts are very sharp. The coatings also have a “thinner” in them. Making the coating work-able when used. Every time you re-apply product you soften the coating again in the towel making the coating start it’s curing process over again, thus not hardening in the towel. However after a while the towel get’s full and we recommend using a new one. Typically we use about 4 towels per car. Hope this answers your question!

    • @JabbaFanzz
      @JabbaFanzz 3 года назад +1

      @@customcarcare5919 Your instant response and experienced feedback is well appreciated and helpful for me! Thank you so much. When you write "4 towels" you mean 2 applicator towels and 2 "buff out" towels? Or are you using a different approach there?

    • @customcarcare5919
      @customcarcare5919 3 года назад +2

      @@JabbaFanzz You're welcome! Since it's a spray coating we simply use microfiber towels 40x40cm with 400-600gsm without edges. 2 Towels are used to apply and 2 towels are used to buff the paint after we applied it with the first towel. Even though it's just a spray coating, it's still important to level the product well with your towels. Avoid putting pressure when buffing the residue off aswell! If you have to buff a lot or have to put pressure this means you probably used too much product. 2 Sprays is usually enough to do a door, for example.

    Does it need curing ? Can I make a water beading test after the ceramic application ?

    • @customcarcare5919
      @customcarcare5919 3 года назад +3

      Doesn't really need curing as far as we can tell. Spray on and buff off with a microfiber towel. However we never do water tests right after application anyways.

      All products require curing as a way for the molecules to transform or stabilize. That’s why the thicker the product, the longer the suggested cure time. For a thinner liquid, 24 hours, and you’ll read like bathtub caulking, up to 3 days before exposure to water.

    • @ndrsg3013
      @ndrsg3013 7 месяцев назад +1

      No, as it pre -cures/penetrating while you are applying over the whole car. Make sure it wone raining for 24 hrs before exposing it to rain (that is my assumption)

  • @antonc108
    @antonc108 3 года назад +4

    It leaves behind a layer of oil film that causes ugly streaking that is hard to buff off without rewashing the car with soap again. After I thought I finally got the oil film off, after a rain those streaks are back again! So I rewashed but afterthat the surface doesn't feel as sleek anymore. I think the streaking problem will be a nightmare to detailing shops using it, imagine the extra work and customers complaining after a rain. Car has existing Igl ceramic coating, didn't had a problem with other ceramic sprayon 'topoff' coats before.

      This isn't a top coat...... That's why you were having issues. I don't know when you would be putting this on your vehicle when you already have a ceramic coating on.

    • @antonc108
      @antonc108 Год назад

      @@efraimperez2726 it specifically said on the bottle instructions that it can be used as a top coat. It is a common practice to top off existing ceramic coating with a ceramic spray coating. Go learn if you don’t know!
