Very well explained video sir!. I have an 03 GP800R that runs good for 10 minutes when first put in the water, then chokes and runs at 3 mph returning to shore. I can't find the problem even after carb rebuilt, people tell me it might be the adjustments needles. Any clue that may help would be greatly appreciated.
My only clue is those 10-12 minutes running perfect like a bullet out of hell. My theory, after the engine gets to working temperature and metal expansion something happens but can't find out what
Very well could be a stator breaking down from heat. First thing run the ski until it starts acting up and open the gas cap once stopped and see if there is a vacuum on the tank. Sometimes the check valve on the gas tank is bad and after the engine pulls enough gas with no relief the tank will create a vaccum.
I have the same ski mine just started having an issue where it starts and idles fine but when we get to the lake and drop it in it only will rev up to quarter or half rpm and won’t get up to speed. Please help
Just did a oil pump delete on same ski. Rebuilt carbs your video helped big time thank you. One question is that I’m now running premix using amsoil intercepter 40:1 do you have any input on weather or not I should do anything else to the carbs now that I’m running premix. Like deleting the accelerator pump or jetting? Seems to be running fine with a little bogging going from idle to planning when cold after it’s warmed up ski has no problems. Had to tune the lows a little tried tuning by plugs but amsoil runs so nice tough to tell foiling currently have oil on the first 3 threads on plugs no other fouling.
Usually prefill the oil lines while it’s running on premix so the oil lines have time to catch up. If not pull the oil lines from the oil pump end and use a squirt bottle to fill the oil lines and re attach. Also there is a small screw on the top of the oil pump or a 1/4 line going to a screw that when removed will bleed the oil pump.
Also make sure their is slack on the oil lines from the pump to the carbs. They will shrink over time and can come off. hard clamping is not a bad idea. oetiker clamps.
Awesome video. I'm in the process of rebuilding same carbs now. It's absolutely horrible so much corrosion. I love that screw driver where did you get it from? Does it spin when you hit it with the hammer?

I have one of these, everyone works as it should apart from when it’s first started it struggles a bit to get on the plane but after that it runs perfect. I only have this problem when the engine is shut off then started again. Considering a carb clean but have been told there’s a spray you can use that cleans it. What are your thoughts?
ludovic howison you have been told wrong. There is no magic spray. Most times the diaphragms in the carb are worn out along with leaky needle and seats. About 80% of the carburetors I break down are Nasty and nothing will remove the crude inside without manual labor.
@@865-customz I got the carbs off and did a run through like you did and cleaned them up I just don’t kno what else would make my ski not allow it to rev up and get to speed

@@865-customz Ok thks, on your video, you went 1 turn and 2 turns, going 2 or more may cause it to load up or bog?thks for the input, greatly appreciated
CoryLee best practice is to set the low speed screw at 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 turns and test on the water. If it Boggs turn another 1/4 turn out until you find the sweet spot.
Dude you don’t understand how much this video has helped me.
Keep this up!! You are a legend
Like the intro music tutorial great as always good job
Great video, my ski wont run on its own, also has intermittent power loss on mid throttle or after a high speed blast, going to try this
Great video thank you. New subscriber.

MrAnythinggood You can run @ 50:1. The stock oil pump is 100:1 at idle and 50:1~ wide open. Make sure your accelerator pump is spraying both carbs.
40:1 wont hurt anything if your comfortable @ that ratio.
do you have a part number for the carbs from mikuni that will fit the gp800?
How do you go upon bleeding the oil system after carbs have been removed/cleaned and oil lines were replaced? Just run a tank of 40:1 premix?

It does. it’s an impact driver.

What is the carburetor model? Sbn40?
Do these carbs need to be primed?
No you don't have to. If the fuel pump on the carb is working properly it is not mandatory.

Sounds like you may have a needle and seat leaking. When the ski sets gas can trickle by and load up the crank case with excess gas. 1 possibility.
I want to get my carbs cleaned and maintance ,,, which state are you located ? Lol
I have the same jetski
Do you have to remove the engine to clean the carburetor on a 2005 Yamaha gp800r?
Breyden Sweeney you do not.
It helps to remove the top exhaust pipe.
