You can never, NEVER tell if a game will be good by its trailers alone. Too many people fall victim to the hype of half-baked games with great trailers, letting the companies get away with their failures as a result. There are too many variables like server stability, potentially missing expected features, a lack of / repetitive content, strained development, MTX / PTW etc that just won't be present in promotional materials prerelease. That said I'm generally optimistic that this game will at least release in a better state than Payday 3, it'd be hard not to, but until I've seen reviews I trust and full uninterrupted gameplay I'll keep my wallet shut.
@rangerdanger572 I ccan excuse them for it tho. It was a small team under the constant looming threat of bombs as their country was at war, at least 2 of them were killed in combat, they changed location midway through, and the game was similarly buggy to a release from your average multi-billion, AAA, 300 strong studio
Been super curious about this game ever since they announced it. Seeing a little game play last night was super exciting, really hope we get more info soon.
I mean it's pretty much different the Pay day. Where as in payday it's usualy better/easyer to go guns blazing here u are pretty much supossed to go sneaky and stay silent as long as possible. Loud is optional. So u can make comparisons to payday but it's defenitly it's own game
Consider: maybe GTFO and Den of Wolves take place in the same universe? They're pretty similar in visual style and theming, it's very possible they're in the same universe.
Starbreeze is definitely going to have to up their game if they want to not get wrecked by this game, as it looks so so SO much better than PAYDAY right now.
Is Den of Wolves the Payday killer? No, that's Starbreeze. Den of Wolves looks to be the coop heisting power fantasy that I have been needing since Payday2. I'm not getting on any hype train, though. All I can do is wait for it to come out.
Honestly yeah. I'm in the same boat as you in this. I'm cautiously optimistic with Den of Wolves, but I think making any claims about how it can/will be is still far too early to tell. The weapons feeling floaty I think is gonna be around GFTO's, but that's entirely my assumption. But as a fan of GTFO and this new game being a slow but methodical drip feed of information that just keeps making you want more from the small snippets you get I can at least say the world building behind the scenes is gonna be good.
I know he's the game director and all, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let Simon cook up some tunes for this game, I love Gustavo but we haven't had a game transending banger since Break the rules iIrc
It's already been confirmed that Simon is doing the music. Also, Simon is not the game director; He is the narrative director. Jamie Christopherson, composer for MGR, is contributing also.
I'm getting massive Syndicate vibes, which is appropriate because Starbreeze created the Syndicate remake. For anyone curious, if you want to go back and dig into it, there's a lot of early Payday DNA in that games co-op mode.
This looks like Cyberpunk Payday, which I am all for. We'll just have to wait and see if it works mechanically. The person in the dome reminds me of Cyberpunk 2077 netrunner tank, only much more extreme

I hope they can make a good balance with difficulty, reward and replayability. Difficulty: I hope they have different difficulty levels/settings because too easy can become boring to some players and too hard will push others away (I generally play alone and don't like being forced to play with randoms, why I never got GTFO and stopped playing Darktide. Both games are basically impossible to solo due to bots being at best hot garbage). Reward: I actually want to feel like I am getting something from playing. (Payday 3 all there is is money and C-stacks. Plus even working to get those currencies I don't care for what's left to buy at the moment). Replayability:, fun missions, different ways to do missions, maybe some randomness to missions/objectives. I hope there is customization. Outfits, weapon modifications/attachments, maybe weapon skins/colors. We'll just have to see when it is available. I hope it has a mix of being able to solo (having a bad internet day or something) and casual enough to use matchmaking where you don't have to worry about being kicked (because your not the best or new) or trolled (teamkilling or other not cool things people do to piss you off).

I cannot forget how much 10 Chambers paraded themselves as amazing developers and acted like GTFO was some magnum opus when it's a bare bones, repetitive, lazy slopfest of a game, (where at one point they created months of work for themselves when they needed to re-add previous rundowns due to a horrible development pipeline just for the sake of being 'different'), absolutely insulted.
