- It's been quite some time since my last upload and I really appreciate your patience, thanks for bearing with me, I talk about this a little in the video. I thought I'd give you an update on my Honda VFR750, KTM 390 Adventure, Kawasaki Versys X 300 and Honda Bros! Oh, and my Mini Moto 😁
This is my first attempt at adding closed caption subtitles (at least I think I have...) but I forgot to check all the spelling and grammar before uploading the video and there are quite a few mistakes!! The subtitles are auto generated. I'll do better next time!
Try thicker steel cans like baked bean ones and use a jubilee clip to get a decent fit on the collector box, then slide the exhaust part way on, remove the jubilee clip and smear some exhaust cement to give you a decent seal
Aarrgh why didn't I think of baked bean cans?!?! When the current lash-up falls apart that's the next idea 😂
LOve your videos. You are a biking guru. I could not have more than one bike simply because I struggle to find quality time to ride the one.
I have ridden a range of bikes in my long life, and have had a BMWR1250R for the last 3. It is easily the best bike I have had (Triumph Bonnie, Suzuki GSXR750E, 2 x Yamaha, Honda). I have been under 'pressure' to trade it in, but cannot think of a better bike (I do like nakeds). Was tempted by the new KTM 1390 Superduke as it is such a fantastic bike to look at, though it meant an expensive outlay, despite being offered £9000 exchange on my BM. However I have a friend who is a biking instructor, who has an H2 for personal use (though even as an instructor, he moans about the insurance) and rides a BM 1250 GS for instructing. I talked to him about the KTM, and he said don't. They are unreliable. Stuck with the BM, but hey it is nice to be stuck. Might consider a Street Triple.
I had a Givi Airflow screen on my Versys 1000. The best and most effective screen I've ever used. Just two bikes in our garage now. Sometimes, it's refreshing to move on and make room
The Givi Airflow screen only worked for me after I fitted that little flip-up screen to it, otherwise it was either noisy, caused turbulence or both!! I have now fitted it to the Kawasaki and was hoping for a better result, but it was exactly the same believe it or not... I had to add the flip-up screen and then it works really well! It does looks a bit ridiculous though 😂😂😂
@@RikkyTang Yes agree, worst looking screen ever. I'm sticking to naked bikes now and saving a fortune on aftermarket screens 😀
For exhaust. Try A44 exhausts and fabrication. In Worcester. They are pretty good at all things that need altering.
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll keep that in mind 👍
Silly question but, do they do a matching front pipe? On the screen issue, I had a tiger 800 in 2017.. wind buffeting surprised me..kept it 3 months then sold on..my next adventure bike I’d 800 gs… it has a small Dakar type screen and is ok. For no buffet, go naked
Good watch Rikky I get your dilemma and certainly your thoughts on the singles as they have never been my cup of tea I have a 30 + year old bike I took to pieces over 3 years ago which is a multi piece ornament which I throw cash at occasionally .I have my other bike which I luv but is to heavy so don't use to much but won't sell because it to is now 24 years old and I keep thinking maybe another bike would do it 😂why do we do these things ?what are we really looking for ? and why are we never satisfied ? all part of the fun I guess or are we just sucked into the vast choice of ever improved power handling and latest gismo's available in today's market swayed by seeing all these reviews because the choice is massive as are the sums of money to throw at these wonderful new toys .😉👌👍
Seems like you should be going back to a BMW dealership 🤔🤔 maybe a 1390DSR 😮
I really want my next big bike to have a fairing... if they do a 1390 SD GT I could be tempted, but at the moment I'm thinking of an BMW S1000XR 😁
@@RikkyTang I think you’re spot on with the XR. My budget wouldn’t cover a ‘24 XR so bought a 1250R, and love it.
Anyway from what I’ve seen the Cuban rider do on an XR it’d be right up your alley .
Looking fwd to see what you end up with …
I think you should sell both the 390 and the 300x and buy 452 Himalayan or cf moto 450 mt both parallel twins for you off roading. Then if you need another bike how about Triumph speed 400 so you can ride a slow bike fast. As you can only do 70mph legally on the road 👍🏿
Both the Himalayan 452 and CF Moto 450 are closer to 200kg wet weight... One thing I love about my Kawasaki 300 is how light it feels considering all the bodywork it's carrying - supposedly that is 175Kg wet and I don't really want my small offroad-capable bike to weigh more. The Speed 400 hasn't got a fairing so I'm not interested 😁
Sell them all and buy a baby multistrada, imho.
Not a bad shout, haven't ridden many Ducatis and a V2 MS could be an option. Currently considering an S1000XR though!
@@RikkyTang yeah good bike too. Similar performance to my gsx s1000, however my 950s is a more engaging ride. How I imagine your r1250r was?
@BarnettSpeedSuzukiThou yep i do see where you're coming from. However I think I've been missing a bit of a top-end rush in recent years, that's why I'm thinking about the XR 😉
