What JJ says at 11:31 angers me. As someone who has gone to the same small independent theater in his hometown since he was six, I can passionately say that JJ’s comment on screen resolution and size is not the case for most independent theaters in small cities. The Senator in Baltimore, MD has been one of the best viewing experiences for film I have ever been to. Set aside the fact that our theatre shows revivals of older films and supports local filmmakers such as myself, the theatre alone is a home for community. Compare that to the local Cinemark down the way and you’ll feel way differently about your viewing experience, regardless of how big the screen is. Just food for thought here.
I agree with you. I much prefer the smaller, independent theaters over the soulless multiplexes. Ironically, I’ve even watched the force awakens in my local theater with just about 80 people and it was a far better experience than the same movie two days later at a giant multiplex with like four times as many people. Ok, sure, I’m looking at this from a european perspective but over here I feel like those independent theaters are the ones that keep cinema going. They are the ones that are willing to show movies that would otherwise be overlooked (and they are usually the ones installing fancy new equipment such as Atmos or laser projectors as well!). However, I do think he does have a point: I oftentimes wonder about the vast difference in image quality between my two go-to theaters. Both of them being independent btw. Wasn’t that the whole point of the digital cinema age, to make sure each presentation would meet a certain standard in quality? I can indeed understand people preferring their new 4K TV over a cinema that’s stuck with an unsharp, washed-out and dimm 2K image. I mean, we’re talking general public here. So I think JJ is mostly talking about the need for theaters to stay on level with home entertainment but they oftentimes fail to do so. Where I disagree with JJ is that he‘s claiming this is exclusively the case with small theaters. Well, no it isn‘t. They can be just as bad if not worse. Really, I think it’s mostly cost cutting from big theater chains. And it’s movies like Star Wars and Disney‘s policies that put theater owners under immense pressure, making it increasingly hard for independent theaters to keep their equipment up to date. Watch him kill one of our favorite DC characters like what he did to Kylo ren
@@MotherOfTheSea Disney did backstabbed him for his cut. All Force ghosts were supposed to appear behind Rey but Disney was too desperate or something like that and I don't want to be in an argument here btw.
The ending was actually supposed to be different but for now idk if JJ killed Kylo/Ben or Disney.
Jae Rowdy 😂😂😂😂ur profile pic and wow
Abrams, you really screwed up the last Star Wars movie.
Ikr the characters didn’t even do anything
oi shut up jj
people are just hating on jj cause he said he didn't enjoy the prequels lol (if you have actual problems with his work i understand , i'm talking about a certain group of people.
But he didn't fulfill the prequels regardless whether people liked them. People really enjoy the prequels but mainly the characters, they were pretty much thrown out the window. Mainly anakin.
It's much more than that, simpleton.
To anybody saying its that they didnt like tfa or tros or his other work, thats fine but alot of people in the comments are talking about how he doesnt understand the prequels
@@philipb7400C'mon, dawg, stop making excuses, what you said is plainly there to see on your first remark.
@@Khultan what ? I don't understand what your saying ? I commented that because i'm aware him not liking the prequels are not the only reason people dislike him and i didn't make it clear at first.
The writing was terrible and there was no character growth at all.
A respect to the franchise and to Luke thank you deeply JJ.
JJ Abrams ruined star wars
Ruin Johnson did that. JJ tried his best to do damage contorl but it was just executed poorly
@@normanosborn4372 well don't forget who started directing this trilogy, now I don't know who wrote the force awakens but they totally screwed up everything
@@jadenrivera1589 i agree.
@@chase3357 heyyyyy
@@thedogtobs9469 i am not happy with this movie. I mean plot is very bad and it killed off all Skywalkers... but jj couldn't make better movie because of SJW's politics of Lucas film and because of TLJ...
I'm sorry bro. You had to fix a lot of garbage.
Great visuals, the story is absolutely ridiculous, stupid new powers and the whole saga seemed purely designed to destroy the original characters, really disappointed, I genuinely thought it was almost impossible to ruin Star Wars, but congratulations Disney, you’ve gone above and beyond 🙄
How a company can do such an amazing job with the marvel universe (except captain marvel, which didn’t even make sense) with stories all connected to a giant epic finale, yet couldn’t even write a descent star wars story , it’s a joke.
what is the next thing yourre gonna ruin hahahaah lol
Man of Steel 2. He's litteraly getting paid by WB to take over DC
The Rise Of Skywalker was better than Force Awakens and The Last Jedi
THAT IS A LIE THAT IS FALSE! The last Jedi will always be the best movie ever
Moon Girl Better than Avengers Endgame ?
Alex I mean now that you say it yeah I can say they both are kinda bad in my opinion I mean The Last Jedi basically was about an escaping ship
Doesn’t need rational thought or explanation JAR JAR Abrams.
That sums it up.
In other words a total fluff piece.
I just realized I don’t like JJ Adrams. He seems snobby as hell
And yeah. J.J. Abrams destroyed Star Wars.
Why ? I don't understand Ryan destroyed it
@@lauraherbst7009 So did JJ
Jj abrams? More like jar jar abrams
ihsan ihsan, that was a mean nickname. It’s an insult to call someone jar jar.
@@echobase5774 well i think destroying the well known franchise to become one hell of bad movie is an insult too
J.J. Abrams ( Born in 1966 ) gave to you his version of Woody Allen's *What's Up, Tiger Lily?* into WOKE Star Wars.
Courtesy of Kathleen Misandry Kennedy and Bob Doofus Iger.
JJ Abrams is a bad director. He uses nostalgia and steals (inspirational, he calls it) from previous films. He did this with Star Trek, Mad Max and the Star Wars Trilogy.
He is talented at producing spectacle but he plagarises and it shows.
What's wrong with that? JJ Abrams is not a bad director. Would you rather have Rian direct all 3 Star Wars movies? I'd like to see you try to direct movies...
JJ directed Mad Max? When?
@@sajidmahmud1601 Last of Skywalker used a big action scence with colourful flares. Mad mad, Fury Road.

How to kill is how I got to know this channel
Is that JJ Abrahams jewsh?
Yeah
Known as the worst trilogy of all times
I love you J. J.
Two years working on the script , and this absolute mess of a movie (if you can even call it that) is what they came up with? Wow!!!
Ps- Although, watching it as an unintentional comedy, is the way to go. As a comedy? Brilliant!
I have loved this series since I first saw the Return of the Jedi in theaters at the age of 4. First theater visit, will always be my love. Can't wait for the advanced screening of the Rise of Skywalker on Thursday.
Yeah... don't bother. Worst star wars of all time
Cool Guy I was falling asleep throughout the movie
