Dr Simona Valletta - 2023 Leukaemia UK John Goldman Fellow

Dr Simona Valletta, University of Manchester, is a Leukaemia UK John Goldman Fellow for 2023. She tells us about her research project investigating the role of a protein called CCR1 and discover whether blocking it could improve AML survival.
Our John Goldman Fellowships were created in honour of Professor John Goldman (1938 - 2013), a renowned haematologist and pioneer in the treatment of leukaemia. These prestigious awards are aimed at early career researchers with a passion for science, a desire to develop new ideas and translate scientific advances into clinical practice.
