It’s only twisted to keep it smaller for packaging. You needed to untwist it when you take it out of the packaging - should untwist into a perfect circle and then you put it on the pulleys
You never mentioned either taking off or putting on the spring. It would have been very helpful if you did. It wasn’t until I figured it out that I understand what you meant when you said you had to take the belt off “this pulley here”. But, you never said why you did it.
Not sure I understand the question, I didn't have to take the spring off, I have done it both ways. I need to do a follow up video explaining some of that.
No, it pulled the twist out, I got lucky. Never had that happen before. Still working good.if it stayed twisted I would have taken it back apart. It’ll never happen again.
I am pretty sure i did everything the exact way you did it but the belt is rubbing on the idler pullies and causing significant friction. the belt starts smoking after several seconds of running the blades. Any idea what i may be doing wrong?
@Scott Burnette thanks for the reply...i will check the bearings. I noticed it only happens when the deck is lowered. Whe telhe deck is all yhe way up, the idler pulleys are level with the drive pully but when the deck is lowered, the pulleys are not level and the rubbing is occuring on the top lip of the idler pulley. Will let you know if it is the bearings. Thanks again
@@ScottBurnette It was the bearings. When i put the pulleys back on, I over tightened them and the pulleys were not turning. Lesson learned: do not over tighten the pulleys!! Thanks for the video and for your help!
You have the belt on the pulley that moves to release or tighten belt tension wrong. The V part of the belt does not touch this pulley. The flat side of the belt should run touching the pulley. The V side of the belt does run touching the two Mower Blade pulleys. And again the flat side of the belt runs on the last pulley. And of course the pulley on the motor will have the V side of the belt touching this pulley. If I am wrong let me know.
Worked perfectly. Thank you because every other video made this way harder than it should have been. This is the only way to do it.
Thank God for RUclips dads
Thank you for another great video!

What size was the Belt, I ordered and my belt says, 118.3 and 1/2 thick. Which is wrong..
That belt was still twisted. LOL

How many hours do you have on your z335e ?
Around 150
@@ScottBurnette appreciate you thanks brother!! 😊
Over 650hrs?!
@@grassfedlives it has 154 hours.
Why didn’t you show the tension spring and how you put that back on?
Couldn’t get a good shot of it. It’s simple, just have to be careful.
Couldn’t get it by myself, had to get my wife to help. She’s a good sport. Your video enabled me to finally get the mower working. Thanks very much.
@@andrewperkins2087 she is a keeper then. Glad it helped.

Just a guess but maybe the belt is too tight or maybe a bearing is not spinning free on one of the pulleys ?

@@MikeOnTheHomestead good deal. Glad to help.
Do you tighten those bolts up as tight as possible on the pulleys?

The twist came out and it’s on correct. I got lucky on it .
"I got it done in twenty minutes and I'm not bleeding."
