Lyrics:
[King Tee]
Get a taste of the heat while I burn down the streets
Time to recognize who wore the white sheets
Gafflin me up and I'm fightin cause they got me
Known as a King knowin what they did to Rodney
I know you know the deal, it's open season on my race
I'm black and I'm proud to be lootin in your face
But yet I'm real smart, cause see, it's a plan
To lock up and shut down the black man
[Yo-Yo]
Yeah, you can play that role like you ain't with it if you wanna
But it's on to the break of dawn
I said it's just 'a few good men' when we were fightin
I guess it'll be more good men now we're united
Now all of a sudden they wanna bring in troops
Niggas in my hood been gettin loose and buckin fools
But now we're gettin wiser, you can tell by the fires
That they're fed up, the war is on us
[MC Eiht]
What happened to the drive-by killings?
Ain't nothin poppin no more cause brothers now chillin
From every hood to block to corner to street
Not black-on-black, the other color gets beat
Mh, I guess it's time for brothers to turn the page and
Let out some rage and bang a Caucasian
Geah, MC Eiht got the pale face runnnin scared
Gang of blue, fuck the white, I'm down with the red
[B-Real]
Doin dirt, at the time I thought it couldn't hurt
So I became a jackin expert
Lootin, scootin uptown cause they're shootin up a clown
That fuckin pig in the blue suit
That pig, sow, buster-ass copper
Pointin my bazooka at your pork chopper
You passed me a lump just a month back
That's why I got my hand on the pump, jack
[HOOK 2x]
You can get with that, or you can get with this
You can get the boot, or you can get the fist
[J-Dee]
Heary heary, y'all come kick it, man
I never thought I'd see a thousand Crips in the Nickerson
Gardens, pardon my manners
I saw the Bloods and Crips wavin big black banners
Bandanas tied, straps on their side
Cause in the projects it was a lotta black pride
And I remember the time I couldn't answer my pager
Cause if you were slippin your enemy come and gauge ya
[KAM]
It's the KAM and Watts Up, damn, this is like a dream
It feels good, cause every hood is on the same team
Archrivals got the five-o's kinda nervous
They layin in the cut but I know they wanna serve us
And I'm certain it's hurtin Daryl Gates
He rather have a brother pressin California license plates
While the media gets greedier for ratings
It's 12 o'clock at night but I'm rollin gold Daytons
And it's cool cause ain't nobody trip but the cops
Deep jeep bass comin from the rag top
[Threat]
It took more than a letter to pull us black together
But that goes to show you, never say never
I seen the tape, I didn't have to see it twice
Never seen nothin like it in my life, 12 blind mice
Is this the end, where we begin
Makin friends with Mister Chen?
From the dirt to the streets to the avenues
Way, way deep, deep in the Zoo
[Ice Cube]
Would you believe
Not guilty, the filthy devils tried to kill me
When the news get to the hood the niggas will be
Hotter than cayenne pepper, cuss, bust
Kickin up dust is a must
I can't trust a cracker in a blue uniform
Stick a nigga like a unicorn
Born wicked, Laurence Powell, foul
Cut his damn throat and I smile
[HOOK 2x]
You can get with that, or you can get with this
You can get the boot, or you can get the fist

I was a 90's teen. From 1990-1994 were my high-school years. What a time it was. I'm 46 yrs old today. Peace ✌️
Same years at H school as me, I’m 45, best times and music for sure.
93 to 97..just turned
44.... you on point...."what a time it was"...
We're the same age. From LA over here. The '90s were perfect insanity.
I'm 52 and 1989 High School Grad, 80's and 90's were the best times to be alive for everything! These songs were badass back then as they are today!
94-98...almost.
We saw the end and the beginning
This was an all star cast... DJ Pooh and king tee were dope producers. U can hear how the song changes for each of the styles. Especially when MC Eiht starts his bars.
💯
MC Eiht, Cube, Kam, Threat and Yo-Yo killed it 🔥
J-Dee, King Tee and B-Real....
Eiht is tight as hell. Check his verse in Cypress Hill - Throw u'r hands in the air video
J Dee was my favorite part
2020 and Ice Cube spoke like Nostradamus back in the day. True words for today's youth. Rap pioneers ahead of their time.
I've been heavily into gangsta rap for the last 25 years and this is the first time I hear this one or know about its existence. I don't think it's a coincidence that the conscious, critical stuff gets the least circulation and visibility...
100%
Same here! I watched a 1000 videos and recorded them growing up…never seen or heard of this video! But I can see why the power that be would never want to this to released
35years ;)
I remember when this came out after the Rodney King riots. Dope sound. 3 years prior was when Same Gang came out. Another song with a bunch of Westcoast rappers.
@@jasonrotairo That record I have! But I had to dig it from the crates. Never saw it promoted. SMH
King Tee's Flow is brutal
Facts! Good way to kick off the song
ruclips.net/video/FJp7VnQ-iuk/видео.html
It's the Likwit Crew, fa sho
I love how they made a beat out of the whistling dude in the beginning. That sounded sick as hell lmao
I love that avatar pic
Then check out King Tee's Album called the TRIFFLIN ALBUM!!!
Same style, tight album
That was a cartoon from the 40s that made fun and portrayed stereotypes of black people, hence the big lips black skin and the watermelon
@@raelockletree3858 Huh? It's the cover of the DJ Screw mix CD: Bigtyme Vol II All Screwed Up.
@@agape1cordova805 That's my shit! Track 14 "Black Together Again"
Yo Yo has one of the most unique voices in Hip Hop...dope AF!! 💯
26 years later, and I'm *just* seeing/hearing this for the first time? Wow.
MindTrickedX24 Mandela effect
Nah, I've legit never seen this. Being a LA-adjacent resident, I may have *heard* it, but I have no memory of it.
Damn, I'm from the Land!! And I never heard this!!!!! Shit goes hard and relevant in 2020!!!
I was just about to say the same thing, glad I wasn't the only 1
Me too
MC Eihts Flow And Beat Hit Different...
damnn every rapper on this is a legend. I love this rap
Yo yo isn't a legend fool
Heard of Yo-yo, but not of no vanni johnson.
@@hendrix-giovannijohnson9701 she is
Threat was dj Pooh cousin...I don't think he even made a single or a album
@@TheRightone177 Threats Sickinnahed album is a straight up classic.
Back when rappers would rap together about important social issues, that mattered. Miss those days😎
Rroesri tirrose
Brasil
Wake up wake up its the first of the month is a good song.
WE ALL MISS THOSE DAYS
💪😎🏴☠️
I can VIVIDLY remember the Nickerson Garden when the gang truce jumped off....Compton Crips, Grape Streets, Bounty Hunters, Rollin 00's, Pirus, hella different sets all CHILLIN....This OG from East Coast Crip pulls up in a Cadillac on D's and started bumpin Das FX "They want FX" but the Pete Rock remix...we was all groovin hard off that shit...historic times man ❤ 💙
YoYo's flow is incredible 🔥
"Back When People Spoke Real Talk Of The Mind Running The Streets True Facts." 💯
Golden time of rap. It's Us, I'm listening now 2024
I was a kid when all this went down and its scary that im almost 30 and THE RELEVANCE IS AS IF TIME STOOD STILL!
2 Tokens been going on for thousands of years... Just different methods and Technology!
1:33 Mc Eiht’s verse was the best
B Real & Eiht killed it
Trini Starr % those 2 always do.
They all did they shit westcoast
B Real was refreshing, he’s a comedian
That beat they did should of been on GTA San Andreas
@D Dre cubes a clown. Howyalikemenow
Ice Cube's words at the end.
listen to "We Had to Tear This Motherfucker Up" it's referred the same line Ice Cube was rapping to
what this beat of ice cube?
lezlethal PREACH!
Now look at the world
Yeah, listen...that's why they recruited him (and so many others).
We need more protest records like these, coz considering all the shit that's been goin' on and still happenin' since forever, it ain't never gon' stop. This diss song gives a whole blunt meaning to the phrase: "Life's never been perfect."
PARIS, should be on this track , big up to the Black panther of hip hop, bay area legend, mad love from ALGERIA
I grew up listening to King Tee here in the U.K as a youngster.
Just Clownin' always been my favourite track!
This that powerful music... 👊🏿💯
All legends on 1 track a true masterpiece💘🎶
I heard this song WAY back, when I spent the Summer in Los Angeles back in... '91? Long before I moved there in '01. When I got back to the Midwest, I kept trying to explain this one to everybody, and that on 92.3 the Beat they played all kinds of songs we never got back home. Thank you SO MUCH for uploading this! 🙏🏾
This is truly a piece of history for the generations to come!
B REAL KILLED HIS VERSE
MC eights and Cubes lines are the best, period.
cept that Cube got lazy and used a verse from one of his already recorded songs...
yeah but still awesome
Whats the MC Eiht music his singing?
Whats MC eiht music name
@@DavidDeLeon True, Cube did. That being said the line is powerful and still dope as hell.
there was alot of good rappers on this track but this shows exactly why cube was the biggest player on the westcoast for years cuz his flows used to be so sick he showed in this song his ability to be an anchor and he killed it
love that o.g.Florence ave. street sign can't get more L.a.than that yes sirrr
Everything they are speaking of we are living in today’s time.they we’re all ahead of their time with these genius rhymes
I loved the way Eiht and B real ripped that shit off that beat!
Hell yeah!
praise all these Mceez...like the more famous one's everbody know? definitely! but THREAT / KAM / & THE LYCH MOBB are the forgotten lyrical's...man. they fucking killed it!!!
Cube is a prophet who can tell you the future💎
The most underrated Hip Hop Artist from The West Coast
Kam and cube 🔥
Eiht & Kam killed it 💯.
Reason why I came back to this song months later I might make a complication of videos with this song of what's going on right now. This song or lost in the storm by chubb rock

JD's verse was harder
THIS IS REAL MUSIC
What you mean with real music?
roBPert real hip hop. Not like alot of this trash rap in todays time
From 1992 to now nothing has changed against the police brutalities. This track is in the same guidelines than "self-destruction", "All in the same gang", "Fuck the police" and so on. Real hip hop with real content from the hood. I miss this kind of rap in our decade. #realhiphopneverdie #WestCoast
MC EIHT & B.REAL
BLACK & BROWN UNITY R.I.P RONDEY KING!!!
MC EIHT THE BEST !!!
22 years,.....Twenty Two Years,........ and well still going through the same shit!!!!

I honestly don't remember this song back in the day.. Wow classic and still true to this day
Dashea Mitchell Mandela effect. I dont either
Had to be up late night on the radio mix shows. Bet and mtv weren’t playing this.
t3rr3nc388 yeah yo mtv raps didnt like playing voilent videos. In 1991 after they played public enemy going back to arizona video they ratings went down because they said the video was to voilent
Yeah I'm 41 and don't remember it. Probably super underground at the time
OMG I remember first seeing this on my local rap program. Never forget it...so happy I found it today!

This nigga Cube's flow was so dope on that beat!
Bring back this hip hop!
RAP MEXICAN REVOLUTION 🔫🇲🇽👊
King Tee "The Great"!
Realest oldschool,legend!
I remember this era. Yes I do. NYC hiphop was hurting like a mf'er back then. The West ruled radio, video and pop culture.
9 out of 10 songs playing on the radio was California based.
With Ice Cube leading the pack.
Mind you Cube had just destroyed NWA, Deathrow wasn't born just yet and Tupac was totting crates and dacing fo' Digital UnderGrD. Can't forget about Naughty though. Brick city held it down fo' the east but to this day nobody seems to remember though. Damn shame.
I'm 43 and I can remember when this happened
I can too and I'm 47. I remember the special reports interrupting the regular TV reporting all the officers being found not guilty and knowing all hell was going to break loose but I had no idea I'd witness Armageddon coming to Los Angeles.
Damn this is crazy I’m 15 so I had no clue this happened
@@evanmorris7519 this wouldn't be the last time... Look at Ferguson/St. Louis , Missouri after Mike Brown and Minneapolis /St. Paul, Chicago and everywhere across the country after George Floyd. Even look at Watts in 1965.... 1992 was the tragic sequel. I'm afraid to say but society will never learn.... IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN!!
I never knew this video existed and Im the biggest fan of this track. Cube let out the ultimate spoiler at the very end of the video.
Im a huge fan of gangster rap and thats how i found this song, and i realised that the london riots in 2011 started in the same way as the LA riots, police brutality, an officer shot a black male and in LA the police beat Rodney King.
didn't you hear the guy at the beginning it was Micheal Jackson's fault
“Here yee here yee y’all come kick it man I never thought I’d see a thousand Crips in the Nickerson Gardens” what a line to a verse and the beat drips
"Pardon my mannas, the Bloods and Crips were waving big black bannas"
J-Dee had the best verse
We need a 2020 version of this
Pure hip hop on a gangsta militant consciousness revolutionary tip. It dont get no better
On the lyrical tip all artists brought you into that situation. CNN got nothing on them. As for the music, DJ Pooh and Co. put the beats and music together in a way that really put you on an emotional ride from the chaotic horn/flute-like loop in King Tee and Yo Yo's verse all the way to the angry pissed off sounding music behind Threat and Cube's verses. I know some of the original songs those loops came from but I'd love to know where the others came from. If Pooh tried to pull that track off in 2014 it'd cost a major grip. This is fire hip hop at is best from the Fresh Coast to the world...and yeah KRUSH SAID IT!??
justice and liverty theres goes flying a huge gretting to all the rappers in this video brothers are are brothers
