Bake as directed and thank me later! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

  • @deepthoughtswithjessica
    @deepthoughtswithjessica 3 года назад +13

    This is definitely the cheapest and most basic way to do cake balls. I would recommend that people make a batch like this and then do a batch the same way, but with better quality ingredients. The taste difference will be substantial, no doubt. Those candy melts taste like chalk and are not even real chocolate.

    • @LittleCookieCo
      @LittleCookieCo  3 года назад +6

      I agree quality ingredients will taste better (even though I love the taste of these too) but I don't know how to temper real chocolate and so I've stayed away from it. I'll leave that to the pros.

    • @deepthoughtswithjessica
      @deepthoughtswithjessica 3 года назад

      @@LittleCookieCo You are a ninja with cookies, I have no doubt you could easily learn to temper chocolate. I am nowhere near your skill level, and learned it rather quickly. Glad to help if you want to learn, it will really up the flavor game on your treats. Just need an instant read thermometer and a double boiler. Also much healthier for your customers to not have so many hydrogenated oils. Someone like me cannot eat stuff like that at all due to a health condition. Anyway, great job either way, the pops look wonderful!

    • @LittleCookieCo
      @LittleCookieCo  3 года назад

      It's definitely on my list to learn one day! I almost did it before Christmas as the hot cocoa bombs became popular and I really wanted to give them a go and use real chocolate but I was already knee deep in cookies. And I realized I just couldn't take any more on (and really shouldn't buy more supplies and ingredients as I'm running out of room already 🤣). And thank you ♥️♥️

    How many cake pops does one box of cake mix make and then how many packages of candy melts for that one box of cake mix? Your videos are EXCELLENT!

    • @LittleCookieCo
      @LittleCookieCo  2 года назад

      You are too kind, thank you 🥰 1 box of cake mix (assuming they're the same size here as there) makes about 24 pops give or take ho small you make the balls! I think I've squeezed about 30 of the out before and they were a decent size after the were dipped. I would say a couple bags of candy melts, always better to have a little extra, especially because you need enough to be able to dip them and have the melts cover them. Once its a bit cooled, ill poor the leftover melts in a ziploc bag and keep them in the fridge until next time!

    • @LittleCookieCo

      Try making the balls a smaller and be really really gentle when dipping and removing from the melts. If you get a deep enough bowl its easier because you can dip straight down and lift them straight up without moving them around. And make sure the stick is about 3/4 the way in the cake pop. I tried with my son before and it happened a lot too so I had to take over so you aren't thr only one 😁
