Having watched all your reactions so far, I suggest these 8 songs next. This combination will keep blowing you away in radically different directions for each reaction: official MVs for Okay, Love of Tired Swans, Golden, and Know, interleaved with Fly Away, Durdaraz, Couldn't Leave, and Ikanaide. Or any mix of those. Not that there aren't a pile of other great songs too. It's hard to know when to stop! And he keeps getting better, plus I've heard there's a bunch of new songs coming in the next few months too.

There are some connections (eg I think he used the same art director for Love of Tired Swans and Know, and Igor Krutoy is a part of several of them), but the bigger impact is just this sense he's exploring possibilities as a free artist. ---- It's not like he's the Beatles or Hendrix reacting to LSD in the 60s -- I love their output, but lament the downsides, and trust Dimash is wise -- but he clearly is another brilliant musician *and* artist. Inshallah (no, I'm not Muslim, or religious; I'm just talking about what insurance companies term "acts of god", though aware of the need to brace my psyche against the reality that bad things happen) he is destined to emerge, post covid, as a global treasure instead of "merely" a Kazakh one. I see no reason why he will not one day be spoken of alongside other greats of music from around the world by everyone, not just those in the know. Perhaps by the time he turns 30 and has emerged from the understandable but unfortunate current distracting focus on his vocal skills at the expense of his artistic and collaborative art powers? Inshallah, again, of course; it's hard to know if tensions between Russia and Kazahkstan will become part of a postponement or even derailment of his life story, or even ours. This is one reason why watching reactors such as you react to great musicians are so compelling. Is history on your side? His MVs are must watch mini-movies, as you've now experienced. A similar story applies to my non official MV suggestions. Afaik there is only one version of Couldn't Leave. It doesn't come up at all on his official channel. And the MV (I guess it's quasi unofficial, but I think it's more about copyrights and contracts) is a clear #1 google match if you add "Dimash". And anyway, it's amazing, so whatever. A similar story applies for the other three in that a google with his name and the song name will put the right video in the #1 slot.)

If I'm not mistaken you haven't reacted to a Kazakh song yet - maybe it is time for that. Dimash loves his culture and language and wants to make it known in the world. And I personally LOVE his Kazakh songs, they are, if possible, even more emotional, great storytelling, very personal and dear to Dimash. So I want to recommend Samaltau 2021 (Digital Show), a very deep and sad song about a tragic chapter in history of Kazakhstan, when in 1916 Kazakh men were led away to fight for the Russian Tsar in WWI, many didn't come back, and as a result there was a great famine in Kazakhstan where millions died. Another great and very touching song is Qairan Elim 2020, a lovesong and a prayer to his country, the video Dimash co-directed himself. Dimash has just uploaded his (most touching! to me, when I first heard it) song Ömir Öter, it is the performance from the Digital Show 2021, where he showed the song in this form for the first time. But there is also a great music video for it. Well, all these songs are no pop songs, no rap, but I hope you'll like them! Thank you again, see you next time!
