Some small details regarding Wings of Light: - It charges about twice as fast if you are standing still versus moving around - Whiffing a Megaflare dodge cuts the charge rate severely for a second or two, which punishes dodge spamming - While a Megaflare is active, casting Gigaflare (and I'm assuming any other ability that slows time) causes a BUNCH of Megaflare bolts to attack at once, I'm guessing this is Megaflare "catching up" from the time the camera spends zooming in on Gigaflare's casting animation. In any case, looks cool as heck and adds a nice chunk of damage during Stagger phases EDIT Forgot to add that I enjoyed the guide and the others so far! Been watching since DMC5, thanks for all the assistance!
Note that you can still use "taunt" while in wings of light. This can increase the aggression rate of regular enemies so you have more chances to dodge for faster chargeup.
Yeah, this is super important to how wings of light function. I'm not even sure why it's separate as thus ability makes wings of light 10 times more viable.
@@mattappl3119 I wish I had the room for Satellite in my current loadout. I realize how amazing it was right before I got Shiva and now I don't have anything I am willing to give up for it. I mostly use Wings of Light now when everything is on CD and I just feel like it/lots of attacks are coming my way and I see an opportunity for a quick Megaflare.
Nice guide! I didn’t realize Impact had 2 stages of glow. Something you missed is that the Satellite ability can be triggered while charging wings of light by pressing the magic button.
i think you can still cast taunt when wing of light is active, which make enemy attack you more reliably. Plus taunt also trigger satellite attacks, so you can still dish damage via satellite while WOL is active.
The best time to use megaflare is right before a stagger, not only that, many abilities will cause the flares to lock on. Also satellite can be triggered during every Bahamut ability.
It's worth mentioning that you can detonate Impulses that are active while using Wings of Light as well, and Satellite's attacks will still fire off while you're in Wings of Light as well. You can't INITIATE these moves while using Wings of Light, but that just means you can set Satellite to a different Eikon, activate it, then swap to Bahamut, Fire off Impulse, and then cast Wings of Light and use magic with Satellite and detonate the Impulses. That'll deal with fodder enemies or build up a stagger on a boss while you cast Megaflare so that by the time it goes off, you have the battle well in hand
If you can get a mega flare built up right as an enemy full staggers then swap to Odin lvl 5 Zantetsuken it makes a ton of mega flares hit all at once. With impulse then giga flare. Dance of darkness then level 5 again. I did 100k damage in just new game. Edit: Learning to spell apparently.
To be honest, I was kinda disappointed with Bahamut's abilities. I expected a more aggressive gameplay style like the other Eikons, the only thing I like is Kamehameha (Gigaflare). Waiting for your new videos :D
@@Nutrafin-3Dit’s best when it’s used against bosses/mini bosses that are spamming attacks in certain phases. It’s also one of the best dodge tools in the game. It’s got it’s uses
The abilities are all amazing in my experience, I haven't done much practice with Flare Breath though. I felt like Wings of Light was slow at first too but it's all about timing, you gotta know when to weave it in. Satellite is super versatile I found, as well, and can be used with Wings of Light (I wish I still had room for it personally). Satellite can juggle enemies, it works with Magic Burst so you can Stagger pretty quickly if you have good mechanics. Impulse and Gigaflare are my favorites. Gigaflare is obvious but Impulse is INSANE. It is one of the most versatile abilities I have found in the game so far: It can be used as AoE and can knock up light enemies, it's even better on large single targets, it Staggers insanely quickly if you pop it at the right time, and it does decent damage for a Will damage ability. Impulse is a vital part of my Staggering combo, I can't imagine my build without it. I admit that Wings of Light is a bit tricky and kinda situational, but it is a very useful ability. Yes, it does feel like you should constantly be doing something like you do in DMC but there is no Style meter, it is okay to wait for a bit. I use Wings of Light when I need time for big CDs to finish so my burst combo isn't weak. It was also really fun popping a super quick Megaflare x4 when I fought Barnabas last night, it feels really good when you do it right.
Satellite actually triggers every time you press the magic button, whether you used magic or not. So you can be doing something else (like another skill) and still fire off Satellite. Makes it a decent skill IMO. If it only worked when you actually used magic, it would fuckin suck.
You can also spam the crap out of the magic button while doing melee attacks in Limit Break (or after a Berserker dodge) and most of the time it’ll just keep the Satellites firing without even doing magic bursts. I don’t really know how effective it is but it sure feels like it does a lot.
for those that are my age, who play FF7 in the 90's...OMG this new FF are getting so hard...not because of the level of difficulty on puzzles...actually that's easy now...but to fight and get the job done you need TOOOOOO MANY buttons to use to get anything accomplish ....definatly , after every major battle ..I need a brake...my fingers hurt!!!..LOL..Thanks for the video.
Personally I was kind of disappointed with this Eicon. I would just expecting so much more with Bahamut. He has so many more moves that would have been very cool to use. But instead we got what we got and other than gigaflare most people will never use these skills
Exactly! My 3 are Phoenix for comboing on trash mobs . shiva cuz those i frames help easily evade attacks and can be chained to slide continusly or quickly get out of and area of effect attacks . and odin for even more damage during stagger phases
Lightning rod is easily the best support skill I the game, and given how many skills it has synergy with, it's probably the best skill in the game. It just sucks that it's so damn boring to use
You sure? Just because it shows many flashes doesn’t mean it’s good… dps wise it doesn’t add much and you can do way better with impulse as dot and it can all work all the time while Rod only useful while stagger. Lighting rod add about 3-5k extra dmg while impulse does 8k homing dmg any phase of fight.
@@AkagiRedSunlightning rod is much better than impulse. It can synergize great with Odin for easily charging zan. It's amazing for all counter attacks like raging fist and rooks gambit. It adds amazing stagger damage on those counters. It makes dancing steel actually viable for damage. It makes dodging during wings of light amazing if you just dodge around the lightning rod and let the enemy wreck itself. Impulse is whack in comparison.
@@AkagiRedSun the other guy basically has the gist of it. It's the synergy with so many things that makes it amazing. All that on top. Of it being almost passive. It just makes every other skill better
Gameplan-wise, this is an incredibly interesting ability set. That said, I am beyond disappointed, because I was expecting this would be the Dragoon-based eikon, given how Dion is😢
Wings of Light is insane and I am shocked that people think otherwise. So many opponents have long active hitboxes that you can spam mega flare dodge to instantly get Level 4 Megaflare which is one of the best AoE attacks in the game. Add in Will of the Wykes and you don't even have to think.
The best combo: a mastered garuda tornado in a bahamut slot. You can crowd control the entire battlefield with the tornado while charging megaflare and your limit break bar. You can have your dog sic the enemies caught up in the tornado (not a locked away skill during charging). You can get to level 3-4 easily before the tornado ends and then unleash it on the survivors or save it for the next wave of incoming enemies, if applicable.
@@adhumbla1153 Yeah, after I asked I went searching for the answer and saw that people were pressing Triangle _I thought just by entering the Wings of Light mode it automatically triggered
