My new fave channel. Straightforward, no-nonsense well researched and genuinely witty. It's a refreshing alternative to all the wanna-be critics who know bugger all about the films they review.
I've never even heard of this movie, but it looks like something I'd totally enjoy. So glad I found this channel recently, only wish I'd found it sooner. I just love how much your enthusiasm and fondness for all kinds of movies shows through your videos, you really do a great job.
This movie BREATHES the air of classic Peter Jackson movies. In the beginning I even thought that Peter Jackson really directed it. Maybe it's the air in New Zealand making people wanting to direct gorefilms.
Check out the 1972 movie Night of the Lepus if you haven't seen it yet. It's a very serious horror movie about giant killer rabbits and the result is unintentionally hilarious.
@@wimvanderstraeten6521 when your 10 years old your easily pleased, I own a DVD copy of it and still pure fun to watch. Real rabbits on miniaturized sets who ever thought of this working must of been on acid today it would be cgi and be boring.
I discovered this one thanks to a friend who worked at Blockbuster during its dying days. The management at my local Blockbuster thought allowing the employees to curate their own staff picks shelf would help them hold onto business and this was one of the movies on my friends section of the shelf during the couple of months he worked there.
I'm the opposite, when anyone talks about Black Sheep, I think of this film. Such an underrated gem, it shows why NZ films are so incredibly awesome, no fear!
Thank you so much for covering this! I remember seeing it way back when it first came out and was quite saddened to find out how little people knew about it. I may be an Aussie, but I can't help but feel very proud about the horror work that comes from the Kiwis.
Dimension putting the "Black Sheep" trailer on the DVDs of the Grindhouse movies was probably the best and most brilliant decision to hit their target audience. It's definitely how I caught wind of this wonderful movie.
I saw it at the Traverse City film festival, they usually reserve a shlock movie for the midnight showing. I was worried it was going to be a super low budget film, but they really hyped it up (and I do have a weakness for low budget schlock). Great movie, and yeah, definitely didn't get the credit due it
I’ve only been watching you just over a week and it’s costing me a fortune! Your reviews are so good, I’ve purchased 11 films so far. You should be on commission lol. 💕
I'm surprised there isn't a ubiquitous Australian horror film about what they call "drop bears" which is really just a myth about an evil breed of koalas they tell to scare tourists. Still, plenty of great fodder to expand upon for a horror flick. I'd pay to see that movie!
I love all the puppetry and animatronics they made. Also, every scene where there are just a ton of sheep hanging out in the background makes that scene much faster.
I'm French, no Kiwi, but I loved the movie, when I discovered it a while ago. Thanks for bringing this stupid pearl to the public, it deserves it. And yes, if you liked Black Sheep, there is also Baindead, from P. Jackson (older but ultimately funny -and very very gore !)
That CGI scene where the sheep run down the steep hill ... it's a spoof of the scene in The Two Towers where Gandalf and the Rohirrim arrive at Helm's Deep to save the day.
Another fun zombie livestock-related film came out a couple years earlier, Dead Meat, from Ireland which uses a variant strain of Mad Cow disease for its zombie cow shenanigans.
I live in Wellington and got to have a tour of Weta workshop. One if the props they built for Halo was a fullsize working Worthog, which makes me sad the Halo never got made. One of the people that worked at Weta even used the Worthog as their Wedding car.
hilariously under-rated movie, deserving of more widespread recognition. it's up there with the (original) "evil dead" franchise in terms of horror-comedy.
FANTASTIC film! I raved about it to my friends and now they all own copies of their own and no matter where they go in the states, they keep prosyletizing it!
I love this film! My local bar shows it every now and then. I always introduce it as the Weresheep film and by the end everyone is howling is laughter.
This movie was an impulse buy the day it released. Had never heard anything about it before that day. One of the best movie purchases I have ever made. Glad to see it getting some love on this channel.
I grabbed this in a handful of movies from a bargain bin at Blockbuster back around 2010. Out of the bundle, Blacksheep was my second favorite, just good fun. The first favorite of the bundle was Repo Man.
Massively underrated film and one I love going back to every now and again. So cool to see so much practical fx used and the blend of horror, comedy and hard to define weirdness is perfecto! Baaaarilliant ^_^
I'm so glad to see someone else loved this film. This Black Sheep is one of my favorite horror film imports, especially horror comedies from abroad, ever. When I here the title, this is my first thought. (Tommy Boy is my go-to Farley/Spade movie.)
Please Please Please! Explore both of those Peter Jackson classics you mentioned! It would make me happy, Bad Taste and Dead Alive are one my all time Favorites!
I seen this movie in theater here in france and it was one of the best theatre experience of my life thanks to the family of 3 behind me. 10 years later i still debbating , did they choose a film blindly (like "let's see whatever is on the next sceance" ) or did they came to the wrong room by mistake ? Anyway they had NO IDEA and they reactions were as good s the movie , it was hillarious. Thanks for your work who bring back this good memories.
I have been waiting SO long for you to cover this, thank you so much. I love this film, I watch it every Halloween just after watching the Evil Dead trilogy.
I remember seeing this on a DVD way back in the early 2000s at a Target! I've always been curious about it since and I'm glad to see you doing a look over it!
I remember when it was announced in Australia and many made jokes about it that it was a matter of time until they would make a movie about sheep, since here in Australia most people see the Kiwi's as sheep infested country. It was a big hit in Australia and even I watched it several times when it was released on DVD.
I love this movie. Every year around Halloween I try my best to get others to watch it because it's one of those you got to see to believe movies. It''s a perfect comedy horror film and was one of the first movies that I saw that came from New Zealand and why I wish I could see what other films the country produced.
You really have to give credit to something that is able to make sheep of all things legitimately scary. After I saw this movie I never looked at sheep the same way again.
Excellent video most of these movies you look at and talk about I've never seen before. But thanks to you I've discovered and even bought these movies through Amazon and it was the best decision I've made discovering these movies.
I loved this review. If you read this then can I just express what a great channel you have and if you ever consider doing a request then I would really be happy to see you do another storytime video like the time you and your friends went to the Red House. I think that you are more interesting to listen to than most of these celebrities that do audio books. Anyway, have an awesome Christmas.
I just recently found the channel and very thankful since I found some of the best movies which I watched as a kid and never knew the titles. I watched pretty much watch all the videos from your main playlist. I guess you already covered the class of 1999 and the society at some point when you started but i can't seem to find the videos. Can you please help!!
I was originally too young to see this in the cinema when it came out, so me and my friend's bought tickets to Ratatouille and snuck in. A DVD copy of that film is still on my shelf at home.
I remember hearing about it and I thought it was going to be shit like something out of those horrible parodies but I was pleasantly surprised, it's scary and hilarious at the same time, I would love to watch this film again someday.
The moral: If you have a dream, even a silly one, you chase that sumbich down.
This film is a laugh riot.
As a Kiwi, I approve this message. This movie is so New Zealand. Thanks Weta Workshop.
Oh boy! I'm honestly surprised you haven't talked about this one yet! This movie gave me great enjoyment. A sheep driving a truck?
Hell yeah!
bring it lol

Thank you!
I love this fucking movie, I feel baahd that this isn't well received but at least it has a cult following
I do admit Kiwis made some really good cult films these past few years, this and What We Do In The Shadows.
I prefer Werewools over weresheep...
Lawrence Hess underrated comment
Evil hand knitted sweater?
What happens if you eat a weresheep?
'We're werewools not swearwools.'

District 9 was made issuing the scraps of the halo movie? That's fucking awesome!
My GOD! HOW did I miss this MASTERPIECE?!? Thank you Good Bad Flicks! You the real MVP! :D
I am waiting for Black Sheep vs God Monster of Indian Flats. Sheep against sheep! Let them fight!
would you ever review/ do a video on Dog soldiers (British werewolf film) absolute classic
By far my favorite Werewolf movie from the last 25 years.
Black Sheep is also a great movie. Glad he finally did a review.
One my favourite films!!!
I actually love that movie!!! kinda reminds me of the first "Predator" a little bit, but with a werewolf twist
THIS. Please do this.
Yes! This!
Thanks good bad flicks. If these were sheep exist, then I’ll need a silver cattle bolt and some A1 steak sauce.
DINNER TIME!!!!!
Wouldn't you get infected?
@buttercup the fluffy sheep I'll have lamb chops for dinner just for you.
Don't use steak sauce, use mint jelly
@@cooperminion825 Also, use a generous helping of salt. I think you can get some from the CS:GO community, or perhaps from sheep boy 101.

"There's a herd of killer rabbits headed this way": best line in movie history.

Shout out for 'What We Do In The Shadows'. That film is terrifically funny.
They're rebooting it as a Netflix series.
'Vampires in New Zealand'
@crazy sheep boy ...
Monty Python's Flying Circus came up with idea of violent gangster sheep, so it was not entirely out of the blue.
They have tendency to make harmless things harmful. Like the granny gang and the killer rabbit.
As a Kiwi, I just want to thank you for covering this film.

That would also be a great name for an Aussie paratrooper unit.
i'd pay to see a movie about drop bears going on a rampage in australia
Saw this a a Fright Fest in London back in the day. This movie is utter genius!
This is what i call real movies. I just love the love and passion that goes into the craziest ideas.
I love all the puppetry and animatronics they made. Also, every scene where there are just a ton of sheep hanging out in the background makes that scene much faster.
An underrated classic, its one of the films that made me fall in love with New Zealand and Kiwis.
You got to love GBF, brightening up a dreary day with another awesome video! Thank you so much!
Great review as always
Hugs from Portugal 🇵🇹!!
i LOVE this movie. i am a wool-obsessed knitter and spinner of yarn, so they had me hooked at "weresheep".

Nothing more dangerous that a smart sheep
