100 Day Project-Days 53-60: Keep it Simple to Keep Showing Up

- The actual #the100daychallange is long over, but I'm still trotting along in fits and starts with my 100 Days of Simple Collage AND YET, I'm still showing up! This video shows me make collages 53-60 as I continue on to a total of 100 of these little collages.

Background: After a several year break, I'm doing the 100 Day Project again (the100dayproject.org) and excited to have a project idea that will challenge me (to keep showing up for 100 days straight) and keep me creating. The goal is to create something that only takes 5-10 minutes a day and I'm all about achievable goals! My plan is to use about 3 collage scraps for each collage and who knows, I might go crazy with it and add some Neocolor crayons or pen lines sometimes. I'm going to go with #100daysofsimplecollage so if you'd like to follow my progress, follow that hashtag and follow me on Instagram ( jackieschomburgart) - between the two of those, hopefully Instagram will show my posts to you every so often...? 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you Jackie, wise words indeed. You put me on the collage path some time ago, using a grid, it's such fun. I had a lovely session yesterday doing Celadon swatches !!! I adore the colour. We have so much studio ceramics and tableware, Celadon appears on every piece. I loved the blue shades l created, and thanks to you ❤❤ You are very generous with your creativity. I so enjoyed just listening to your voice as well as watching your videos. You have a soothing calming demeanor. And if I am not out of bounds I want to share something with you. The way you speak about rest is some thing I have been working on for myself. I get nothing at all from saying this to you. It is just some thing I have done to help my rest. There is an app called insight timer. There is an instructor on there named Jennifer Piercy. Her tutorials are about rest and sleep. You may enjoy them if you need a pocket of rest but do not have time to sleep.

Inspiring as always Jackie -- I'm truly an art snob when it comes to using magazine papers (someone in there insists it has to be hand-painted) and I consequently spend much more time painting papers than I do making collage -- I definitely need to cut up some magazine papers into shapes/colors and just *play* *with* *them!!!*
Haha! I remember this pet peeve of yours 😆 Perhaps you could use some hand painted papers along with the magazines to make it more to your liking? 😉 And yes, by all means, PLAY! (Psst - that’s the secret to the magazine collage - the stakes are so low there’s little fear of “wasting” anything precious. 🤗)

Hi, Jackie I just threw a val-pack in the recycle bin yesterday because I already have enough to work with for a lifetime. When I was junk journaling I had boxes of cereal boxes and junk mail. I finally realized that I would never be able to keep up with all the paper stuff that enters this household. I figured if I needed any particular thing for a project it would be here within a week. I put most of it in the recycle bin. I do sit down on a couch every morning and watch RUclips. In front of me is a large box of images for glue booking, but with no table handy it is difficult to work on a glue book here. Thanks to you I now have a small pile of index cards. Using some of those glue book images on collages will be much more lap friendly and start my day off nicely. Your suggestions were great and enjoyed watching you collage. Nancy

thank you! love these. For junk mail, unfortunately, I think the only thing you can do is call and ask to be taken off the list. It's very time consuming :( But if someone else knows a trick, I'd love to know.
I've been getting a lot of cards lately (rather than catalogs). Big cards, sometimes. They are great for making gelli print stencils!
