honestly, seeing you mix modern gear (the running pack) with all your ancestral knowledge makes it feel so much more accessible. Plus, using modern tech to get closer to nature is probably the best way to use modern tech

Self Heal is all around here . It is so wet here that Self Heal grows about fifty to a hundred feet from the rivers and creeks sometimes into the middle of pastures and fields here in Western Washington. It grows often near Broadleaf and Lance Leaf Plantain and Stinging Nettles.
Not usually near Devil's Club that's a bit too wet for it. Just thought I'd throw in my two cents about it. Hope that's ok ?

I've got a good amount of self heal on my land, as time get more unpredictable, the more important it is to know the environment around you, there might be a time when modern medicines might not be ready available, and the ability to take responsibility for your own health, will be your only option, in the event that , that happens we might see the return of old diseases, and while most plant medicines won't heal these diseases, what they will do is help you fight the symptoms until your body is strong enough to fight the disease it self, simple tentures of black walnut, for parasites, black berry root, for diearea, yellow dock, for constipation, mullain, for upper respiratory problems, California poppy, as a sedative, old mans beard, as a natural antibiotics, ,and willow and wild lettuce for pain management just having a small amount of knowledge can make the difference in living a hard life, or living a life that's tolerable ,
