    Still a little confusing but the video helps give me some direction on what to look for in spikes. Also, it was great to hear that the Nike Air Pegasus is a good training shoe to keep feet and legs healthy. Thank you!

    wish i found your vids last season… had sprint and LJ spikes for sprints,LJ and TJ and doing triple in LJ spikes destroyed my shins… invested in a pair of TJ spikes for this year and so far the shins feel a lot better

    First of all, thanks so much for clearing up the difference in all of these spikes. I wanted to ask if it’s more advantageous to wear normal sprint spikes for long jump or triple jump spikes? I’m a triple jump specialist in high school, and also do the 400 meter. I also want to know how effective triple jump spikes really are. Thanks for the response!

      Don’t jump in sprint spikes. Buy specialized spikes when you specialize in jumping events.

    Buying previous year's shoes is ok at a lower level to save money but if you use them hard or perform at a higher level, spend the extra money for newer shoes. The older shoes will have the foam go hard sooner. The foam in shoes does not last forever.

      All you are saying is true. Note that old spikes are still better than no spikes

    I sprint and long jump, looking to get two different spikes though, would you prefer the nike LJ 4? And a sprint spike to go along? Also, when do the spikes restock? I’ve been looking for them everywhere and they’re all sold out

      @keinanbriggs  2 года назад

      I will always stand by Adidas but if I had to choose Nike LJ spikes, I would jump in the elite LJ, not the LJ 4. The spikes typically restock during the spring.

    Do you think High Schoolers should spend the money on a spike like the Maxfly I have heard mixed things like these are mostly appropriate for college level and pros due to them being more experienced and having better technique

      Yes! “Build it and they will come”. I will make a track talk live post on this also. Put yourself in the environment and the results will come. Aka buy the shoes to put you in the mental state and “environment to run/jump” like a college athlete.

    I’m a mum of three primary aged athletes (6,10,11) and buying waffle soled track shoes was straight forward. Now my eldest is in mens sizes it seems impossible to get waffle shoes for him (maybe it’s an Australian problem -very limited sizes in everything here for the last few years). We’ve just purchased the Nike Zoom Elite long jump spikes which worked great yesterday but I was assuming we could use these for triple jump? Is that not the case? Triple jump is his specialty. Do we need more shoes? Can he sprint in the long jump shoes? I’m still very confused. Maybe I need to watch this again 😅

      You are very close. And great job! I do not recommend long jump spikes for triple especially the Nike elite because they are so arched. Yes you will need a triple jump spike and yes you can sprint in long jump spikes. 😊

      Here we go again… another season another truck load of $$$ 😅 this season he’s getting triple jump and sprints and his brother is getting high jump and the versatile sprints you mentioned. Thankfully just waffles for the little guy. After much consideration I’ve decided it’s best to try and get as much as possible from places that do free returns as this way I can buy a few different options for them to try then return the ones we don’t want and using Afterpay means I can buy 6 pairs of shoes at once without going bankrupt (and the returns are processed before the second payment comes out if I’m quick enough). Still need to research long distance for the high jumper. I’d like to get him the Nike Rival 6 waffles which are for 1500m+ as that is his preferred distance and at his age he’s only allowed spikes in 400m and under. It wouldn’t matter if he wore these for 800m too right? When 800m is neither here nor there for him? If he could wear them for cross country it would be worth it but cross country season is over now… now I’m rambling… I’d better go watch all your other videos..! (And sell a kidney lol)

    Trying to get my daughter track and field shoes for 400 and long jump is this shoe Nike High Jump Elite? Or is this shoe only for high jumpers? Last question are these men sizes? she is in high school.

    • @keinanbriggs
      @keinanbriggs  Год назад +1

      For the 400 and long jump you technically need to get two different types of spikes because she is doing a running event and a jumping event. Running and jumping are two different “sports”. If finances are a thing, get the Nike Rival MD.
      If she is competitive and /or jumping over 16 feet she will have to get specific jumping spikes separate from her sprint spikes.
      Do not get her high jump spikes to do the king and 400.
      Track spikes come in men’s and women’s sizes.

      Yes I agree these are good. They are low profile which means they will yeild higher impact levels.. aka shin splints will be more likely

    the best track spikes are made out of goat skin and don't provide any bells and whistles so that your foot can work naturally with the rest of the muscles in your legs.
    they were far more supple. they weighed practically nothing and they became one with your foot almost instantaneously.
    the new track spikes universally suck by comparison.
