Charles and Lando seems to forget that Max jumped from a Toro Rosso car into a Red Bull and won. He was chased lap after lap by a world champion and beat him. Never done before.
It took him less then 1000 days from Karting to his first win in F1. (1 year F4, 1 year Torro Rosso) Then it took him less then 1000 days to become a WDC. Renault was horrible, Honda had it done in 2 years.
Lando's driving this year has shown that you need more than a dominant car to be F1 WDC. Lewis and Max have shown consistent, relentless speed, clinical execution of strategy, and bold defence and overtaking in everyone of their WDC winning seasons. It's never just the car.

These cars are understeer we have seen Max and Lewis struggle when this is excessive. In qually for Lewis this is what is taking the tyres out of the window towards the end of the lap. Hamilton has never been that great at qualifying. Rosberg pretty much matched him. Bottas (a C-tier driver regularly bested him) Russell beats him. There is a reason why Hamilton is also the record holder in poles lost to teammates. Think about that. He has lost more poles to a teammate than Barrichello who had Schumacher as his teammate for 5 years. Tells you two things. 1 Hamilton's strength is not in qualifying 2. Hamilton has had more races with the best car than any driver in history, by far.

He has been through a lot that many other drivers haven't had to, in order to reach his SEVEN World Championships. He isn't fishing for compliments. He is managing naysayer expectations... imo.
