Too young & inexperienced for RB. I'd rather Liam stayed with Visa RB for at least a full season & RB throw Valtteri a 1 year lifeline(barring any contractual issues). Valtteri is a proven quantity & good backup for Max.

did someone really think that Colapinto was going to drive alongside Verstappen? ... I am from Argentina, and doesn't matter how much you would like to have a driver in F1, putting him there, even if he, let's say drove incredibly and did not crash, would had been very stupid from RedBull decision makers. After developing their own drivers,,, just basing a decision on a few races from a driver from another team? without having insider stats and metrics from him... for me that was always a smoke ball...I would love to for them to choose Yuki... and then having Yuki declining and going to Aston Martin with Honda... I would love that for Yuki

I could never understand why people were talking that up. Given all the people in the Red Bull driver pool there was no way they were putting him straight in the top team without at least a warmup in a VCARB. People being absolutely ridiculous with the Colapinto hype based on what? One or two races? Even Max spent some time in the junior team before being promoted.
People pushing that he was going straight into RBR were the same people insisting Max was Mercedes-bound next season. Nonsense based on nonsense.

Yuki to AM is unlikely, unless Stroll leaves. AM's M.O. seems to be having one world champion and one other driver. They wanted another champion when Seb left. So when Alonso leaves they'll look to replace him with another WC. Having Yuki and Stroll isn't a great combination for a team having plans of fighting for championships. So unless Stroll leaves, it's unlikely.

They also have a great relationship too, plus I think Yuki knows what it's like to be a team leader and also the learner at the same time. He has constantly been surrounded by experience be it Gasly, De Vries or even Daniel. Also the man has crazy good speed too, which Liam doesn't. Yuki IMO can hold himself to Max better than Checo, Albon or Pierre did but isn't fast enough to pose a threat

Yuki is too much of a hothead. They need someone like Bottas. "You can get some wins but you cant fight Max". Lawson, Colapinto want to be WC. Max will never step aside for someone else. Colapinto, big talk.. but ehat has he done so far but crash? Liam Lawson has bass in his voice, confidence? Mkay... I dont think Max cares. These youngs are all talk, but proved nothing yet. Max has a trackrecord of trashing his teammates. If they want to end their carreer early they should try to join RB with talk like like they are ready to take on Max. They are not ready... When Max is 80 and is sitting in such a scooter for elderly people he will still beat them at the home...

Missing piece here in yuki discussion is at the core of Red Bull MO. You need results, but equally (perhaps slightly more) important is marketing piece. Yuki has made MASSIVE PR capability advancements over past couple years but when Honda left he lost a major thing that would up his PR value for the RB org. Therefore not his time, however unfair RB go toward people who can race and dazzle on camera vs just pure racing results. I see yuki shifting with Honda winds in next couple years (ie Aston)

2024 has been nothing short of an afternoon soap opera. I give you a lot of credit for not throwing in the towel…even my guy even got fed up (right or wrong). I honestly believe that these cars are pure garbage. No one can drive them well. They are too finicky from track to track. Im sure many will disagree with me - some may agree. Watching the races from the 80-05 reminds me of what I loved about F1. This year was a new low for me I hate to say. I have so much on my mind but I won’t bore people. Red Bull is not likely to put a F2 driver in immediately…although I like Hadjars driving. Yuki or Lawson deserve a shot to me but I can’t read Red Bull tea leaves.

I wouldn't label Norris as someone gifted with racecraft. Giving him ignoring the double-yellow in Qatar, but also the ignoring of the aborted start... I think Norris should have his license revoked until he shows he understands the safety rules. Now, as for Hamilton of course Max would not want someone besides him who drives as dirty as Lewis? Want someone from UK21 right behind all the time? It's not what Hamilton managed to gather together with a rocketship Mercedes. It's the danger to Max' car. Max wants a pleasant team. He doesn't want Lewis. Or anything other from Mercedes.

2: get at least in the top 6 consistently to get the CC.
And 3: have the ambition and strength of personality to weather the lions den that is RB...
Of course Carlos saintz and max would have made a pretty unbeatable team.. given the car of course.. but I'm not sure Carlos .. after being SACKED by Ferrari.. would want to play the rear gunner role.. shame though, it would have been fascinating!

Absolutely take your point about the Lewis Hamilton hyper-fandom and its departure from all reality, surely the "Maxiphosi" is at least its equal.
I long for reasonable open minded discussion on F1 with people who can be objective. Disagreement in that context doesn't mean you're positively or negatively biassed for or against any particular driver.
Your discussions with Peter Windsor are a model of how 2 people can disagree on a particular issue, respectfully.

This is why I've been saying that F1 is an amazing spectacle, but a bush league sport. It is poorly run, and the reason for that lands squarely on MBS's desk. Can you imagine Adam Silver or Roger Goodell trying to pull this crap? NO ... because they understand that the management of their sport needs to be fair, consistent, and disciplined, and that needs to happen in the background .... not the foreground. F1 will never be taken seriously as a global sport until they clean house in the leadership of the sport.
