Super informative. I was breeding a 1 mutation out hoping to get new colors...now I know to stop doing that and going back to 0 mutations. You're a time saver! BTW, not sure if you remember that my Unicorn was lost in the snow biome, but I found it yesterday! He was running away from hyenas a little further away. Saved him and now he's locked away in his pen, safe and sound. Thanks for the great vids. 😀
I was doing this on dodos, and my first mutation was a blue beak on a female... i bred her with a male with no mutations, when she laid her egg, another female laid hers at the same time, when they hatched, both eggs had triplets, and all of them had blue beak mutations! Fuckin insane
@@roccompany2267 I was kidding lmfao, I thought you got the joke. "How are they hanging?" It's a suicidal joke but whatever. That dino in exact can climb walls that are 90°. It can climb from the front of its body and the back. So to do that trick he did on that wall is just lead your Dino backwards to it and it should start climbing it backwards.
I been watching your videos for about a year n i am new on breeding on ark n i watch alot of videos on how to do it but you explain so much better then anyone else that i watch.... Thank you so much n really breaking everything down to the put i can truly understand
Thank you so much! I got a lavender equus and an equus with blue stripes on my first try! I wasn’t breeding like colors together but I am so grateful for this video! Thank you!!
Got to say out of all the streamers I have watched. You, are my favorite. I love the shinanigans, you, and your friends get into. Not to mention all the breeding fun. You sold me on wanting to get Ark, hope to be a patron soon. 😉. Stay cool Tag.
Thank you! I thought mutations were only stats and I thought just breeding two animals that are different colours would give me a new one lol. This helped a lot! Thanks!
That's actually really cool! I had two dire wolves (female was cream with a grey back and grey feet; Male was dark grey with black back and grey feet) I ended up getting a female baby dire wolf with a cream body, somewhat dark grey back and, get this, RED feet!! I also bred her to get even MORE babies with red feet! Also those dire wolves were wild tames and I didn't breed anything before it, I got pretty lucky there, and thanks for the informational video!❤️
i got out of 2 turtles with mutations purple shell red shell mutation and the next egg a cyan blue body with purple shell turtle so goddamn lucky got wiped tho
While watching this video, I was breeding some Thylos and I got my first mutation! I think it’s speed since I don’t see any stat boosts, but the color was a red for the stripes/paws. It rlly cool and I’m excited for more mutations in the future 😁
so basicly its just keep breeding for hours on end from the same parents and hope RNjesus is with you, got it! off to play ark for the next 17 hours lol
HAHAHAHA you sound like Kerry the crazy Kat lady! lol I had a breeder friend IRL and i asked her about breeding and she started talking about colors and mutations, and she had as many cats as you have Thylo's and would talk word for word like you! so really this game's breeding is really great! Very realistic, we can all be crazy Dino/dog breeders with out actually hurting anything! ^^ its great
I am soooo glad this video exists. For the first time, I understand how mutations work. I want to get into breeding argys and wolves and, since I play on Mobile, I can't see the family tree.
It finally makes sense, I've seen so many videos where their breeding for mutations and I never understood how it worked or even how they knew it was mutated, I'm so glad I found this video.
Great video and turorial. Thanks!! I think jerboas are harder to breed thou cause they come in lots of diferent colors, so right now im just getting a LOT of jerboas in a house and letting them breed. I think thats the best chance in finding mutation jerboas. But with larger dinos I think ill try use your method. The tutorial was great!
I'd really like to see the cyan or red belly on the purple...i mean lavender body 😉 Once again, great vid! I'm working on argy and archa mutations currently, and just fyi archa's mutate about as much as your terror birds lol so frustrating. Also a tip, I breed a pair until I get twins that are 1 male and 1 female with same stats and level, then use those as my main breeders. Helps to spot stat mutations easier since they will be higher level than the parents😁
Awesome. I didnt even know you could get mutations in the game(granted Ive never done breeding before either) I shall keep this in mind when I give breeding a try.
Could be wrong but if so need the knowledge you say better chances if parents are same color as grandparents. But wouldn’t it still be able to choose the grand parts so like double the chances to get plain color or same chance for mutation?
I am breeding pteras, my question to you is, when I'm breeding I sometimes get the ancestry showing up on the matrilineal or patrilineal and still have 0/20 mutations, why is this?
K, so I got 2 equus. 1 with black mane/stripes, grey body, and red feet. The other has black mane/stripes, white body, and black feet. I'd like to breed a black mane/stripe/feet horse. What should I do?
Thank you for this video! Makes it so much easier to understand :) Also breeding two creatures that have the same colors makes it a lot easier to spot mutations if they happen!
How did you keep your breeding animals from moving once you enabled wandering? I built a small pen to breed direwolves in, and the babies would sometimes glitch into the floor.
Can u combine mutations? For example i have a female turtle with the body blue and a male with the shell red can they have a baby with the shell red and the body blue?
So if you have a dino that has been breeded down the family line multiple times then would it have a chance to get a mutation from all its ancestors even if theres hundreds
I’m really bad at breeding anything in this game. Is it because I’m in singleplayer? If so is there a way to like speed up the mother’s like ready to mate timer? Please help.
awesome video! ATM i am trying to get all the same color equus to breed. so far out of 6 females breeding and i have breed them three times, i have pooped out two feet mutations... gold and blue Please keep these breedings up! you have a lot of info that seems to be helping, at least me!
So, I love your breeding barn, but for some reason, i can't get my thyla to hang nice and tidy like that, they either wont grip the doors (at all ever) or they just fall off as i dismount (where i have them on the wall. I have made my wall 6 high to the roof, doors down the bottom and walls all the way up etc. Can you please share your secret? I was using metal and glass (s+ stuff) do i need to use vanilla stuff?
i know of the latching on the walls, but does that not let them actually wander when on wander? ive also seen others in breeding videos that they park them somewhere and set to wander but they dont move, and not with a full weight limit, is this a mod thing or vanilla game mechanic?
SuPra15iiGniTe don't think you can but if you have a green shell turtle and a blue body one you can combine that and get a green shell blue body turtle
what happens if you're breeding parents that look identical but have a bunch of mutations? got a patrilineal with 8/20 and matrilineal with 18/20 but wanted colours as they levelled higher, should i start over?
I have two Spinosaurus that I plan to breed that I tamed from the wild. Both the male and female are black with a tan underbody, green spines with red tips but the male is slightly brighter. By percentage approximately what are my chances of getting a color mutation?
So.. grandparents original basic colors in the pool or not? or let me put it in another way. If i breed a red female with a white male.. I'm gonna try to get all white females. if I then use the white male and white females is the red female's colors still in the pool?
One time I was breeding Allos and one of the eggs hatched and it was TRIPLETS! I was so surprised, didn't know that could happen! Twins too, but man. I almost couldn't keep up. Now I have some fruity looking Allos because of their vibrant mutations.
i'm breeding otters, and have gotten two colorless mutations now so they have the same pattern as all the otters before them....should I still not use them to mate or does it not matter considering they still have that same pallet to pick from
yo tag back plz help I need to get a nother red thylacoleo but I've only got a female red and a cyan color male and every time the baby comes out female it gets the moms colors of red and if it's male it gets the blue color how do i get a male color in red
Ok I am still confused i watched Syntac and now I watched yours I still do not understand. Just for fun I am breeding Ptero very first baby came out with a light blue color and it was female and was inherited from the mom. But I only have the one male which is the dad. Do I need another male? Is it not logical to breed the daughter back to the dad?
I got a mutated baby therazino. I can see the melee boost but I swear there is no color difference. Does that mean a future baby might get a new color?
The parents you bred with probably did not get tamed at 100% taming efficiency. When the baby is born it is considered tamed at 100% efficiency and you can see higher stats than the parents. There is more to it than that but its a lot to explain.

IDK why but the random turds falling from the thylas made me laugh

How do u hang them upside down

Skyler Alexander thank you so much! Hope to see you during the stream tomorrow!
TagBackTV wouldn't miss it!!! 😁
Blueberry Bumblebutt, that's got to be the best pet name ever.
Sadly probably not in the limits tho
At least it doesn’t look like it is
This reminds me so much of pseudo breeding in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire
Thank you! I thought mutations were only stats and I thought just breeding two animals that are different colours would give me a new one lol. This helped a lot! Thanks!

So a thyla orgy?

New to the channel but looking good! Very informative but not boring I’m hooked!!
You should seriously name all ur Dino’s lol

Jesus Christ, it looks like a battery farm with them hanging from the roof haha
Good one😂 ...this is a reply
Awesome video, helped me a ton I have been trying for weeks and this video will surely help me
I don't really care about colors but I will be here for the stat mutations + I'm seeing this to make my sabertooth army stronger and deadlier.
so basicly its just keep breeding for hours on end from the same parents and hope RNjesus is with you, got it! off to play ark for the next 17 hours lol
just lower the intervals and hatch times in the server settings lol

Anyone know how he has his Thylaceos hooked up to the wall like that? Also, does it work on other tames?
No only thylas
What do you do with the babies you dont want? Do you kill them and harvest them for meat or do you just unclaim them once they are grown?
