personally my top 3 DOOM projects are: mouse and the mask, born like this, and mm.. food. blasphemous? maybe. but it's my taste and i know what i like lol. madvillainy is awesome, but i've heard it waaay too much. i love how casual mouse and the mask is, how cinematic born like this is, and mm food is just... mm food
@@fernandoreyes680 hey! same guy that commented this, lol. but i actually started revisiting vaudeville villain more cus of your comment. i think i'd put at #3 now--i really like its atmosphere and DOOM's rapping. can i watch has GOT to be one of my fav DOOM songs of all time, too
For me personally, my top 5 MF DOOM projects would be... 1. Madvillainy - The bravest most leftfield Hip Hop album of all time. 2. MM FOOD - The best conceptual and most creative Hip Hop album of all time. 3. Vaudeville Villian - Greatest alter ego Hip Hop album ever made. With some of the best rhyming ever heard in the genre 4. Operation DOOMSDAY - The best come-back Hip Hop album ever made. 5. Take Me To Your Leader - The most slept-on Hip Hop album ever made. These are just my opinions lol I'm not saying I am correct!
Great list, but I’d say Dr.Octagon is by far as you’d say “bravest most leftfield hip hop album of all time” and it’s not even close to me. Madvilliany is prob my fav DOOM album as well tho followed by Op doomsday as I love the rawness of that album.
Great list, I’d probably have BLT higher but that’s just me. My semi-hot take is that Vaudeville Villain might be DOOM’s best album, and I’d definitely have it top 3 (over Operation Doomsday), but I understand your placement. Also, DOOM didn’t produce any of Vaudeville Villain, which is why the beats on there sound so different. I appreciate that he went out of his way to get this glitchy, electronic sounding production because it really helps Viktor Vaughn seem like his own rapper instead of just another alias for DOOM.
You perfectly put into words how I feel about VV2. I don't play it as much since it ain't on streaming. But every time I listen to it I kinda surprise myself and remember how good it sounds. Definitely his most underrated project imo
I got a newfound appreciation for Vaudeville Villain when I was driving around with my dad one day and randomly decided to play it in the car. At that point I hadn’t even known if my dad had ever even heard of MF DOOM. He didn’t say anything was really into it and then randomly said that it was probably his favorite album ever. I was so taken aback lmao. He said he never really liked any of DOOM’s other music all that much when he was younger, that it just wasn’t really for him, but that he thought Vaudeville Villain was amazing. It’s been in my top 3 ever since then
Born like this at 12 is insane ngl, deserves a top 5 placement
Meh
At least top 10
TOP 3 babyyyyy
@@michaelpatterson6512 I’d put it number 6

Well said! Discography so good there’s no wrong answers
Nice! Where would you put VV and OD?
Nope I’m in the exact same boat - VV gotta be somewhere in there but that’s such a good list

Personally, my favorite DOOM project is definitely Special Herbs Vol 9 & 0. I'd put Madvillainy and the Four Tet remixes next.
my top 3 is mmh food, mv, doomsday
vv my fav album, his best pen work imo

Dope video, R.I.P. DOOM
Man…. You’ve absolutely smashed this one. I’m largely in agreement too in terms of the order. Thanks for sharing this with us all 👌🙏🔥
Much appreciated! Looking forward to hearing your DOOM mix 👀
Finally someone giving Vaudeville Villain the credit it deserves, it often gets overlooked, up there with the top 3 you mentioned imo.

Operations Doomsday, KMD 2nd album, Viktor Vaguhn, MIC, SPECIAL HERBD 1-6
My intro to mf doom was Clips Of Doom by Ghostface,I was in Iraq like “WHO THE FUCK DID THIS BEAT!”
I always felt Keys To The Cuffs was supposed to sound disjointed to represent how his mind was probably feeling being detained in London.
Very possible, I never could connect with it though
Operation DOOMSDAY is my go to, change the beat is his best outro
My favorite is Vaudeville Villain but it might change depending on my mood
Are you white?
Thank You For This❤ I can’t wait to finally read the chronicles of doom: unraveling rap’s masked iconoclast😭.
born like this so low is wild
RIP MF DOOM!
I’ve missed #9 ! Damn…
Peace from California! ✌🏽
Peace! ✌️
