Awesome movie Fede Alvarez! Having seen all the films in the series, and after watching this film for me it is a SOLID 8 out of 10. It's not perfect, but it does the job well. It fulfills the goal of being an entertaining alien movie, and it achieves that EASILY. BTW it's looks great! it has an awesome cinematography. It should be seen on the largest screen possible with great speakers. And although some dispute the final part, that was the part that I liked the most since it is where Álvarez's touch is most visible. I want to see it again! Especially for THAT final part. Do more please!

The runtime for this movie should have been 2H 15 Mins. Alien Romulus is an Entertaining movie but felt very rush. No breathing space, so to speak.. It would be cool to see the characters plan their strategies to escape and have abit of a downtime.
Funny I feel like it should’ve been 90 minutes and they should’ve cut the whole last part of the movie with the weird engineer/slender man thing. Also needed an android that wasn’t Ash and to cut the cheesy callback lines.
James Cameron took away everything that made the alien dangerous that Ridley Scott worked so hard for. They turned the Alien into a lesser version of itself that could be squished like an ant on a sidewalk
If we had a better script, this could have been close to the classic movies. The movie was well directed and had great cinematography etc, but the script along with casting choices needed work.
I’d give it a 7. I wish they kept a certain character in the shadows because the close ups in lighting was unpleasant. lol. Everything else looked great. Predictable film, almost video gamey at times, but was a good popcorn watch! There was two sequences that were fantastic,(locked in with huggers in the water and ship hitting the asteroid belt), both of which are briefly shown in the trailers.
Alien given the Star Wars makeover. Awful dialogue, over acting, scattergun fan service, CGI-ing dearly departed actors, and giving Big Chap the 'somehow Palpatine returned' treatment. When people are giving first reactions and the best thing they can say is compliment the sound design rather than the story and the acting, you know something's up.
@@TaxemicFanatic I love Aliens but that still bothers me to this day. They supposed to be perfect organsms that are almost indestructible, not green paint balloons.
@@cajohnson130 I love the movie too. It's a great film but it does slightly diminish the Aliens durability. It's an action/horror. Alien is a horror/thriller, the OG. And I'll always prefer it. I also enjoyed Romulus despite a few minor things.
everyone is flashed by the visuals. Romulus is mediocre at best. The Xenos are too small and the ending..we already had that. It was disappointing esp. it seems Fede was held back gore wise.
@@antorcha2 Dune 2, Twisters, civil war, Fuiosa. Id don't even fully like all those but they were better than Romelus. Damn some of my kids movies they watched. Romelus is a terrible film. I mean if you like AvP then ok. But it's nothing like Alien. It's honestly a parody of Alien/s.

Having seen all the films in the series, and after watching this film for me it is a SOLID 8 out of 10.
It's not perfect, but it does the job well. It fulfills the goal of being an entertaining alien movie, and it achieves that EASILY.
BTW it's looks great! it has an awesome cinematography. It should be seen on the largest screen possible with great speakers.

I think cinematography, production design, supporting actor, possibly not best picture depends how the rest of the year is looking. Just my opinion

Not at all - it was a strong 8 out of 10 in a series plaged by 6s. A few callbacks don't ruin a movie, promise.

A bit harsh but also not entirely wrong. I still enjoyed it but I do wonder how the movie will age upon a few rewatches.
There is nothing that could've been done better in Alien or Aliens. Those films are masterpieces, Romulus was not.
