This was the magic of classic 70s disco music: low sounds at full blast and numerous changes of rhythm that, in today's music, die at birth in boring samples.
I had just turned 20 in the height of the Disco era and thought I was a true enthusiast on the subject of disco music but somehow I missed this one. I feel like I’m getting hints of Two Hot For Love by THP Orchestra 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️. Another gem I recently discovered after 40+ years is Disco Extravaganza by G. B. Experience. Exquisite!!!
I'm with you...I missed this one, too! I was chatting with a fellow dj the other day about how we all missed certain records. He said back then, some records were only given to certain parts of the country to "test" them out. If they made it where they got it, it went on to be given out to the pools. But not all the time. I would have played the shit out of this and most likely mixed with "Ain't That Enough For You", or something else just as hot with those strings and congas. It's now 2022, and hearing this for the first time!
So disappointed they only did two tracks! This great. Reminds me a lot of Gene Page. So now I'm off to investigate the other work of messrs Burnside and Nance.
Trust me, this was *the* sound of 1979, at least in New York and the Northeast USA... Outside of that sphere, especially California, Canada, and France & Italy, they were experimenting with much more advanced electronics.... but that didn't really break into the NYC/Chicago/Philadelphia bubble - Air Power is a Chicago production.
"Welcome to the Disco" brought me here, and I knew by the title that this one was gonna be top shelf. And isn't it? Now to find myself a decent copy!

If you like this, then make sure to check out Queen & Disco’s edit of this gem.

Indeed?! Funny, I´d never associate funk music with that country, had no idea you´d even know those music genres either.

One of those tunes you'd hear on a boiler room mix hahaha
SOUNDS LIKE EL COCO(LAURIN-RINDER)
Very similar to High Energy by The Supremes.
dont sound like '79 to me. more like '77

Look at the vinyl
Even disco in the year 1980 have same sound as 77-79
